The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Raphael finished his meal in the kitchen, washed his dishes and set them out to dry. He figured someone else would either put them up for him, or he would make use of them later in the day. And either way, he was running a little bit behind schedule for his 'date' with Cecelia. He rushed up to his room and changed into something more comfortable for training and then made his way quickly back down to the Danger Room. He was both glad and worried at the same time when he did not find Cecelia there waiting for him. He then figured that she was merely running a little bit behind schedule like he was, and would arrive shortly. He found an empty room and set about telling the computer to simulate a sparring dojo, and to load a simple training program that he could activate a little bit later.
With all that done, Raphael settled into performing simple stretches and other warm-up excercises, just waiting for the arrival of Cecelia.

Cecelia jogged in a minute later. Her hair was pulled back in a long, slick ponytail. She stopped and waved to Raphael. "Hey. Sorry I'm late. I got caught up in my new murder-mystery novel." She moved to put her small gym bag in the corner. She was dressed in tight black pants and a bright blue sports bra under a grey tank top. She reached into her bag and took a swig of her water.
She put her water away and as she walked over to Raphael, she stretched her arms above her head. She popped her back once then stretched her arms across her chest, stretching her shoulders. "So what shall we start with? A light warm-up or straight into training?"
Raphael offered a smile towards Cecelia as she entered, then promptly answered her question as she asked it. "Warm-up stretches, and a quick jog around the room. I would hate for you to pull a muscle or some such thing." He continued his own stretches. "I assume you know basic stretches from dancing... so, I won't go over those."
As soon as he finished his stretches he turned about and jogged over to the wall, then began a slow lap around. He slowly built his speed up to a full run by the third lap. He then dropped his speed and by the eight lap was walking. After his quick run he moved back to the center of the room and waited for his new student to finish her warm-up. "Alright... time to begin." He said with a smile. "Behind me is a computer simulated sparring robot. The Danger Room was kind enough to provide it for us. It is set to the lowest setting right now, though, hopefully in a couple weeks we'll change that. But, enough with introductions. First the basics." He spoke in a clear, loud, and easily understood voice. Flowing through various stances, and different 'moves' that could be used in different situations. He ended on a kata designed to build the muscles that would be needed in kick-boxing, while also emphasising style and fluidity.

Cecelia stretched and warmed herself up. She made sure that each stretch she did was even on each side. Before starting her laps, she went and put her left hand against one of the walls. She leaned over slightly, grabbing her right heel. She then extended her foot out straight in front of her then moved it so her leg was stretched in the air above her head. She held it like that then did the same with her other leg.
When Raphael started his laps, she kept up with him. She regulated her breathing and tucked her hair behind her ears. After the laps, she kept her heart going and let herself cool down slowly, not stressing her body too much. She looked at the sparring robot and then Raphael. She watched him demonstrate some simple moves and tried to lock them in her brain. When it came to watching and analysing, that would be easy. She wasn't so sure about actually doing the moves.
Raphael drew a deep breath, blowing it out slowly as he cycled through the last of his kata and turned to face Cecelia as she watched him. "Well... back to the beginning I suppose." He offered a smile. "First, the initial neutral stance." He stated, rising onto the balls of his feet and getting a slight bounce into his step as he faced her, both hands up. "Go on... Bend your knees a little bit more. Relax some... hands slightly higher. You want to be ready to protect your head." He coached her as she imitated him. "Spread your legs just a little bit more. Good." He gave an approving nod at the stance he had coached her to, then shifted around to stand beside her. "Now, follow me. Don't worry, I'll help you perfect them... and that'll take time. Just do your best for now."
Raphael then shifted to performing the simple basic kicks from the neutral stance. Kicks designed to make the most of the length of a person's legs. He then stopped to watch Cecelia, ready to offer more advice.

Cecelia listened carefully to his instructions and tried to follow them perfectly. She kicked a few times but on the sixth kick, she kicked a little too high and ended up leaning too far back. She lost her balance and stumbled backwards. "Woah...Sorry. Kicked too high." She returned to her spot and resumed her stance. "So more kicks or shall we move on?"
Raphael watched her, offering pointers as she kicked. He reached out for her as she lost her balance and stumbled, though, missed her ever so slightly. He nodded some. "High kicks are useful, but not so high you can't keep your footing." He offered a small smile, then took up a stance beside her. "Certainly we can move on, though we'll return to kicks eventually. A lot of kick boxing is kicks." He smiled some then faced forward. "Okay, watch me then we'll do them together, then I'll watch you. Just like before." He gave a nod, more to himself and anyone else, then shifted through several variations on the basic punches. Straight jabs, left and right hooks, high jabs, low jabs, uppercuts, the likes. He shifted and nodded to her. "Now together," he said, and began again, slower this time matching his pace to her's.

The Sicilian student followed Raphael's instructions, trying to keep up and imitate to perfection. She did the moves slowly so she could understand and remember the moves. She nodded and balanced her breathing, not letting in or letting out too much at a time. After the sequence was over, Cecelia tightened her ponytail a little to make sure it wouldn't fall anymore. "So now by myself?"
He nodded some, stepping back as she tightened her ponytail. He was glad that his hair was not quite long enough to cause problems in his own ponytail. "Go on, no critism just yet, only helpful advice." He said with a nod, and folded his arms over his chest. He was really beginning to enjoy using his hard earned talents for a more constructive route.

"Okay." Cecelia slowly went through the motions, making sure not to punch too far from her or kick too high. As she went through the movements, she started to pick up a little speed, not wanting to do them at a turtle pace. She went through the sequence twice before stopping and running the back of her right hand over her forehead. "Was that okay?"
Raphael nodded some, then reached out and patted the bottom of her fists. "Keep these up a little bit more. For most people their head is the most important." He gave a small nod. "And as you speed up, put a little bit more force into your kick. Snap it forward some, kind of like a whip." He settled into the neutral stance beside her. "Let's go over the basics once more, then, if you're up to it, I'll boot up the bot, and letcha go at it." He offered a smile towards her, then began going through the basic punches and kicks.

Nodding at all of his advice, she tried to correct it all to her best abilities. She put more force behind her kicks and kept her fists up a little more. She went through the basics twice more, just for good measure and for her own reassurance. She stopped after the last kick and slowly put her foot to the ground. "Was that a little better?"
"That was. You're an excellent student Cecelia." He offered a smile. "But do you feel it was better? I think you're doing very well. Especially for this first hour of training. But you seem to almost doubt yourself... Don't. Be confident and sure. Though, don't let your pride get the best of you. Know your limits, but don't be afraid, especially in a training environment like this, to push those boundaries." He smiled, and cast a glance over at the computer simulated bot. "Computer, send the bot over here, and prime him for sparring." He directed his gaze back to Cecelia as the bot trotted over. "If you're feeling ready of course. If not, we can go through the basics as many times as time allows." He knew he could push himself through several hours of training before needing to take even a slight breather. He, however, did not know what Cecelia's threshold of stamina was, or even her comfort level with her newly learned abilities were. He just hoped she would speak out if he was pushing to hard or too fast.

Cecelia smiled and bounced a little. "Yeah. I feel a lot better about it." She watched the robot get closer and she mentally prepared herself. "Okay. I'll give this a shot."
Raphael nodded some and stepped back away from her. "Alrighty then. Computer, ready the bot. Begin on my mark."
The bot stepped forward and assumed a perfect neutral stance. "Cecelia, step forward. Ready." He glanced between the two. "Begin." The bot took a bounce to its step, hands up and facing Cecelia. After a couple of brief moments it stepped towards Cecelia and thrust a simple high kick her way, slow, but perfect in execution. From there it flowed through most of the basics Raphael had shown her. It used nothing he had not shown her, simply kicks and punches. Each relatively slow in execution, but perfect none-the-less.
