The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Okay." Sveta nodded again, taking a few items out of her bag before she opened it up for the little dino. So, the little creature was indeed a living thing and not a robot. More than that, she was a Mansion kid. Oh well. Good thing she found her first, and not some dino-crazy little brat who'd pull on her tail.
"Get in." she whispered, making sure Amber was safely (although a bit tightly) tucked inside before she closed the bag. Looking around, she stood up, and started walking towards the exit casually, stopping once in a while to read a sign, or look at the exhibition. Weirdly enough, she felt like she was stealing something, although the dino in her bag clearly was no one's property.
She was at the door, when the security guard stopped her.
"Excuse me, miss? Could you open your bag for me, please?"
"Umm, why?" Sveta asked, one hand on her bag "Is dere a problem?"
"Just checking. Please open the bag."
"Do I have to?" Sveta asked, flashing a charming smile.
"Yes, you do."

It struck Amber just how ridiculous her present situation was. Here she was, a living breathing dinosaur, stuck at a dinosaur exibit about to be smuggled out of said exibit in a strange blond lady's purse. Only in her life could something so completely outlandish actually happen. How did she manage to get into these sorts of ridiculous situations anyway?
With a concerted effort to cease brooding over her present circumstances, Amber took a careful look around from her vantage point low to the ground before approaching the purse. It smelled a little funny, but then that was probably to be expected since it was a purse and women kept all sorts of weird things in their purpses. The fit was tight but as long as she curled her tail and her neck around her body, she was able to fit. She let out a small chirp to let her new saviour know that she was ready to go.

That did not sound good. That did not sound good at all.
"Just checking. Please open the bag."
Maybe if she just played dead the security guard would just assume she was a plastic dinosaur or something? Surely it was more believable than being an actual real live dinosaur.
"Yes, you do."
Amber took a deep breath and held it, willing herself to look dead and willing the security guard to believe it.
Sveta, very very reluctantly, opened her purse. There was indeed a dinosaur inside. Curled up and looking quite dead. Sveta really hoped she was not dead. It would not look good, having suffocated a Mansion student in your purse. Very, very hard to explain. Even if these things were, according to the exhibiion flyer, supposed to be extinct.
"What is that?" the guard asked, a bit surprised, and more than a bit disapproving.
"It is a toy." Sveta answered, shrugging "I bought it in the shop. For my nephew. He likes de lizards."
"Could you take it out of the bag, please?" the guard asked.
"Sure." Sveta nodded, carefully picking up the little creature. She really hoped dinosaurs were not ticklish.

Amber was trying really hard not to move and to just play dead. One wouldn't think that it would be difficult to remain utterly still. After all, it wasn't as if she was actually doing something, it was the opposite of doing something. Anyone that thought that, however, clearly had not made an attempt or at least not made an attempt in a potentially dangerous situation. It was one of the most difficult things that Amber had ever tried to do. She barely even dared breathe, allowing for only the most shallow of breaths, her chest moving up and down only a fraction of what it normally would.
Everything seemed to be going well. Amber's blond saviour seemed to be handling the situation and Amber herself was, against all odds, succeeding in her vow not to move a muscle. But then the security guard asked to take a closer look at her and she felt her stomach sink.
Pale hands dug into the bag and lifted Amber. Was it better to remain stiff like a plastic toy or go limp? Stiff, she decided, and proceeded not to move a musle. Until the woman's hands happened to touch a very sensative area of her rib. Her tail twitched at the ticklish sensation and she mentally and silently berated herself, horrified at the prospect of the guard seeing the movement.
Sveta lifted the small creature up to show it to the guard; she did not want to hand her over. It was already bad enough that she was a mutant, and she had to touch her, even with gloves; she was silently praying that the little lizard did not turn into a T-Rex or one of those big bad ones from her touch. She would just have to keep touching her until they were far away from people...
"It is plastic" she added with a friendly smile as the guard looked at the dino.
"Did it just move?" he asked suspiciously.
"It has a button inside" Sveta nodded "You push it and it moves tings. Like, de tail and the leg." she rolled her eyes "It is horrible how much dese things cost, just because dey move. And I had to buy de batteries too."
The guard shrugged, and nodded to her.
"Thank you miss. Goodbye."
"Goodbye" Svetta nodded cheerfully, putting the dino carefully back into her purse and walking out. She kept her hand on Amber as she left the exhibition grounds, and walked back into the park. When she was sure there were no people to see them, she pulled the dino out of her purse and put her down onto the ground.
"I am sorry" she muttered "Dis might surprise you. I make mutant powers stronger."

Amber wasn't expecting the surge of energy she felt going through her at the touch of the blond mutant. At firstit wasn't noticable due to her nerves all ready being on edge. As soon as the guard excepted the woman's explanation, however, a surge or relief went through her. To her own ears the explanation had been a weak one and she could hardly believe that he was just allowing her blond saviour to carry her out, but she wasn't about to question their unexpected good luck.
Once the immediate threat had passed, however, she noticed an odd tingling energy going through her entire body. It didn't hurt nor feel particularly uncomfortable, more like a very strong rush of adrenaline except that her natural adrenaline rush was beginning to disappeate due to the immediate threat seeming less threatening.
"I am sorry. Dis might surprise you. I make mutant powers stronger."
Well, that certainly explained botht the strange energy rush and the fact that the woman had been at the Mansion. Once she had been walked off of the exibition grounds and the purse had been put back on the ground, Amber scurried out and back onto solid ground. She was fairly certain that now she would be able to shift back without issue, the only problem was that she didn't have any clothing, her robes being stuck back behind the exhibit back on the grounds and she most certainly was not about to return there for them.
Amber chirped helplesslely and gestured, as best she could for the blond to wait there for a minute. She waited until she was reasonably certain her saviour understood and wasn't about to go anywhere before running behind a nearby tree and preparing to shift. At least if she was human, naked or not, she would be able to talk and explain her problem. She could always shift back if she needed to. When not in fear of her personal well being, shifting back and forth between forms was much simpler.
Sveta stepped back, and watched. The dinosaur seemed to be all right. Definitely hper, but she did not shift, or explode, or go wild, or do anything scary. That was a relief. It was also chirping and gesturing, before it darted behind a tree.
"I will wait here." she agreed. And she waited.
She could guess the dino was shifting; she'd been living with mutants long enough to know that everyone needs some privacy. Especially when they turn from a dinosaur into a human girl.
"Let me know if I can help" she said. And waited.
