>>“O-Okay. I-I can leave…whenever I want though, right? I…can’t trade one prison for another.”
"You can leave" Sveta nodded sincerely "Whenever you want to. It is not a prison. It is a safe home for people like us." And some others too.
"Come on" she smiled, standing up; she couldn't offer a hand to her either, but she could always smile "Let's get a taxi. Beats the subway."
Especially if you were going to travel with a freaked out mutant with bugs in her chest, and a power booster.
Sveta managed to flag down a cab, and helped Agnes put her duffle bag in too, before they started off towards the Mansion. The taxi driver didn't really care who they were as long as they were paying; fortunately enough, it wasn't a long ride.
Once they arrived to the Mansion, Sveta paid the driver, and the taxi drove away, leaving the two of thm standing in front of the gates. The Russian girl smiled a little.
"Welcome to Xavier's Sister School for Gifted Youngsters."

Agnes, as she sat in the back of the taxi, still could not believe she was doing this. It had been so long since she was in a car and being here, being taken to some boarding school for mutants felt so surreal. Agnes had promised herself that she could never get involved with too many mutants, that she could stick to the streets, suffer what she had to suffer and in the end, she would succeed. She had told herself that it could not possibly be that bad, after all, anything had to be better than having parents attempt to exorcise you every day.
She was not prepared for how rough it could be. Living on the streets taught her rough lessons, especially about how to look out for herself. In doing so, she learned to trust only herself and to admonish the rest of the world. And yet, all those rules seemed to be thrown out the window as she sat in this cab. Everything she told herself to believe in…she was becoming a hypocrite at. Or at least that is how she chastised herself.
As they disappeared down the path of a park, heading deeper and deeper in, she kept trying to convince herself to get out now, to run away and not be seen by this woman ever again. But each passing second that stayed her hand from opening the door and running, only made her more convinced to at least give it a try. At least she could leave whenever she wanted to…she hoped anyways. She could have to have found out that Svetlana lied to her.
Then, when the building came into sight, Agnes was floored. It was massive, a huge mansion deep in the park. She was shocked by the sight of it, but tried her best to hold back her awe. Then, as they pulled up to the gate and were let out, Agnes meekly followed behind with her duffle bag in hand. The building was beautiful but she felt so out of place staring at it. This was definitely one of those places that she felt the most awkward in.
>> "Welcome to Xavier's Sister School for Gifted Youngsters."
Agnes looked squarely at the building before she turned to looked at Svetlana. All she could do was nod right now. She was still frozen with fear as to what stepping into that house would do. So she only crossed her fingers secretly and prayed that Svetlana was right.
