The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Michael just held her tight. He'd had his chance to cry out his problems... Daria needed hers. So he stroked her head, holding her against his chest as he felt a warm, wet spot spread where her tears were soaking into his shirt.
It's all right... just let it out, baby. I love you, I'm here for you no matter what.
Mike held her face in one hand, kissing her back tenderly. "Don't ever say that."
"If I were left to my own devices, I'd have killed all of them back there. Very, very painfully. The only thing that held me back was you. You were the only thing that gave me a reason to be human, instead of just being Cassiel."
"Left to myself, I probably would end up, eventually, no better than Whitmore. If I'm ever any sort of a hero, it's because you make me one."

Daria felt new tears form in her eyes, she blinked so that they were caught on her lashes and shimmered there framing her emerald eyes.
"That's so sweet. But I can't make a hero out of thin air, right? I gotta have something to work with." She brushed off his shirt absentmindedly. "You're a really good person...you just forget sometimes"

Daria was caught off guard by Mike's compliment. She moved her hands up to wrap them around Mike's neck. They're chests were pressed together so that she could feel his heart beating. "Well..." she said after a moment's thought.
*It was very late at night and the Danger Room had filled quickly, people looking around angrily, sleeping on the floor, talking and whispering to one another, and wondering what the hell was going on. As soon as Tricity came into the room, everyone quieted after noticing her and was staring, waiting for her to begin. Tricity took a deep breath and exhaled, holding her clipboard behind her back with both hands and beginning to explain.* "There's a virus in school that's affecting mutants. Some of your fellow classmates need special attention for a while to complete the healing process. Obviously, you can't tell immediately if you have the virus. There aren't any noticable symptoms at first, so some of you may be sick and not know it. But, we have Dr. Van de Kamp who is also a mutant and knows how to cure the virus and quarantine the entire house, room by room. I don't know how long this will take, so get comfortable, we might be down here for a while." *Johnathon's hand shot up, as he stood way in the back of the Danger Room with his buddies.* Johnathon: "Is this Whitmore's doing??" "We aren't sure...we are still investigating the origins of the virus. But, I'll keep everyone up to date. Now, we are going to have to take a couple students at a time for evaluation. All the younger kids will be first in alphabetical order. SO, all kids who are 12 and under move to the left side of the room and anyone else to the right. Thanks, I'll be back in a few." *Tricity heard the commotion as people moved around the room to their designated positions while she exited the Danger Room for a moment.*
Recently regaining consciousness in time to hear Tricity, 11 year-old Hairpin moves to the left side of the room. She sat down and curled up, with worried and tearfilled eyes.
*Tricity came back into the room a few minutes later with a second clipboard and a familiar envelope which indicated a new student. She looked throughout the crowd of mutants, but it didn't take long to see the blue haired girl sitting in the corner, crying. She bent down to her level.* "Hey, beautiful. Why are you crying?"
"Oh, I see..." *Tricity had read the girl's profile, but hadn't had the chance to talk to her yet since the emergency began. She smiled at Hairpin.* "How about a cd player to listen to music? Would that be better??"
Siren and Delphi show up in the Danger room in short order. Siren is not at all happy, if one stands close enough to him they might here some very faint doom-and-gloom music playing, and his triplets are squirming uncomfortable in his arms.
