One would think. Tarin said as Michael commented on the fact that one didn’t usually find a Canadian south of their borders, and definitely not in Texas. ”This far north it isn’t that strange though. I’ve met several Canadians in my time in New York…Lee was fascinated by how warm it was down there at Christmas. I was still freezing…but she was running around like it was an early summer.”
Michael didn’t feel the same way about New York as Tarin did. Then again, Tarin didn’t think that Michal had found he love of his life in the city either. There were lots of things about a place that made it home. It was sentimental and a bit silly…and definitely not something he’d say out loud…but it took finding those things to make it permanent.
”Understandable.” he commented evenly, ”City life isn’t for everyone. I was transplanted out of Texas at an early enough age that I think I was able to adjust.”
He shrugged his shoulders, ”Not that it doesn’t still thrill the heck out of me to find a kindred spirit.
There wasn’t much more space for the conversation to grow, and while Tarin was sad to see it end…it was probably getting near time. You could only walk with a stranger for so long before things got really strange.
”Well. It was nice to meet you.” Tarin said, stopping at the corner on the opposite side of the street. ”And it’s nice to see that at least someone up here is willing to make an effort to make people behave.”

Apparently Canadian's aren't that uncommon in this city. Were the Ranger to make an effort to meet people as opposed his clandestine modus operandi he might have realized that.
As nice as it was to bump into a fellow Texan up in New York, it was just a meeting on the street and most likely Tarin had things to do. As such it was time they went their separate ways.
”Well. It was nice to meet you.” ”And it’s nice to see that at least someone up here is willing to make an effort to make people behave.”
The Ranger extended his hand for a handshake,"Likewise." Tarin reached out and they shook before going their separate ways.
