The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Kate began to explain restrictions and limitations that her mother should have informed Sam about, which she did and so Sam nodded his head slightly his one eye fixed on Kate as she went into detail about everything again. It was good she was doing this, not only did he want to know how responsible she was but he also thought it was a good learn experience for Andrew to see what he had to deal with as a new greeter.
She covered the temperature she was usually comfortable with which made Sam smirk as well, he used to have a similar problem but it was for the most part never that big of a deal there was a time when his powers grew a bit fast for his liking when he was thirteen he couldn’t walk out of his cooled room without sweating, eventually his body adapted to the sudden growth and he no longer had to worry about being to hot or cold his body seemed to do a good job of stabilizing his body temperature. 38 degrees Celsius was about 100 degrees Fahrenheit, something Sam was able to do in his head without much thought, it was something he had to think a lot on when he was a kid so it came second nature to him.
When she stopped after her explanation Sam nodded his head, the fire she created was indeed impressive; the heat it gave off would have blinded Sam if he were using his heat sensor, it would also have burnt his stack of paper work down to ashes if the flame touched them something Sam was tempted to do at a later point maybe when Andrew wasn’t around to pick up on how Sam procrastinates. ”100 degrees Fahrenheit is 38 degrees Celsius… and 1500 Celsius…” Sam looked to Andrew and smirked, ”very hot!” it would have been a temperature Sam was pretty sure he couldn’t handle he never pushed himself that far with heat and he didn’t really want to try though with Kate in the mansion it was something he figured he should prepare for if anything ever did go wrong.
”Food won’t be a problem we always keep our kitchen fully stocked and if we haven’t run out when Fausto was here I doubt you’d be much of a problem… kid had a bottom less pit for a stomach…” Sam trailed off for a second wondering where exactly his first official student had run off to.
Pushing Fausto to the back to his mind he looked back to Andrew and Kate, ”For the most part Kate I want you to try and keep your “being” of fire under wraps for now, at least till I can see it in person and in a controlled environment like the danger room, I already dislike having the fire department on speed dial and they come here enough I don’t want to have to have them take permanent residence here.” Sam let out a small laugh to let Kate know it was meant to be a joke for the most part but he was serious about the fire being if it was as dangerous and cold as she said it wasn’t something he wanted to see in the halls of the mansion.
”Other than keeping your flames under control I don’t really have any more questions, but I do think its time you get some rest seeing as you just got here and you still need to unpack, Andrew any questions for the mansions newest resident?” he looked to Andrew and raised an eyebrow.

(Kate's post turn taken with her permission)
Andrew smirked back at Sam. He didn't need Sam's calculations to tell him that if Kate's mutation got out of hand things would get really hot really quick. Sam seemed pretty good at this. He told Kate what he expected of her but he joked around too. At the crack about not wanting to give the firefighters a permanent residence here Andrew smirked again. If this was what being a greeter was about then Andrew was pretty confident he could handle it. It didn't seem too hard. Fill out a few forms, ask a few questions, get the person in question settled in a room and on to the next. Of course there were special cases like Kate who needed special allowances made for them. That shouldn't be too hard. Andrew looked at Sam as he asked him if he had any questions for Kate.
"Nope, I think Kate and I have talked enough today. Like you said Sam, she could probably use a rest."
Andrew smiled at Kate and then looked back at Sam. If the man had meant for Andrew to pick up on some question or another that he'd left out or missed then strike one to Andrew because he really didn't think anything needed to be said. Kate had had a long day and could probably use the rest. As for himself, Andrew would probably stay put just in case Sam wanted to say something to him. After that he'd probably see if Kate wanted any help and move on to find something else to do if she didn't.
>>100 degrees Fahrenheit is 38 degrees Celsius… and 1500 Celsius…very hot!
“Yes, very.”
>>Food won’t be a problem we always keep our kitchen fully stocked and if we haven’t run out when Fausto was here I doubt you’d be much of a problem… kid had a bottom less pit for a stomach…
Kate had never thought about other mutants much, let alone one that needed to eat as much if not more than she did. She found herself wondering for the first time what other mutations she was going to encounter. Would she even find another fire user like her? Would they have the same problems she did? Would they be able to actually control fire instead of just make it? The possibilities were endless.
>>For the most part Kate I want you to try and keep your “being” of fire under wraps for now, at least till I can see it in person and in a controlled environment like the danger room, I already dislike having the fire department on speed dial and they come here enough I don’t want to have to have them take permanent residence here.
“Understood.” Kate didn’t mind this restriction at all. She hated that that thing was inside of her most days and was happy to obliged keeping it in. Then it hit her that he wanted to see it, which meant she was going to have to show him it. The thought of having to just manifest the thing on her own was terrifying. She burnt down the entirety of the Kirby Hall gardens the last time she did and she had sworn that she would do her best never to do that again, but before she could say anything Sam continued speaking.
>>Other than keeping your flames under control I don’t really have any more questions, but I do think it’s time you get some rest seeing as you just got here and you still need to unpack, Andrew any questions for the mansions newest resident?
>>Nope, I think Kate and I have talked enough today. Like you said Sam, she could probably use a rest.
The thought of rest lead her to realize that she was far more tired than she had thought, “Actually if that is all I would like to rest. It has been a very long day and I don’t know how much longer I can stay awake. Anything else you need to know I can obliged you with in the morning and whenever you’re ready to meet the other half of me,” Kate took a deep breath and said what she thought she had to, “I will be happy to show you. Now, if one of you wouldn’t mind showing me where I’ll be staying, that would be delightful.” Kate looked at Sam warmly and waited to be lead to her room.

Nodding his head he smiled to the pair, ”Right then Andrew care to show Miss Finch-Hatton to her room?” Sam pulled out a map from his desk drawer and then circled the general area where Kate’s room would be, ”She has a corner room so it shouldn’t be to hard to find, you get lost ask around the room number is on the key!” Sam slid the key and the map over to Andrew and smiled before turning his attention back to Kate.
”When your feeling refreshed and your up for it I do intend to get you into the Danger Room so I can see just what exactly your capable, and don’t worry it is a safe place to test your abilities.” Sam said with a smile making sure she wasn’t nervous about pushing herself. The way she said understood so calmly made Sam think she was worried about her abilities or her control over her abilities.
”Andrew once your done escorting Kate to her room I want you to head back down to the Danger Room to meet me and Gawain up, you are going to be my assistant after all only right you have an grasp on all that entails.” and Sam meant all it entailed including learning all Sam had to teach him.

Andrew nodded to Sam. Escorting Kate he could do. He took the map with the circled area and the key from the desk where Sam had slid them toward him. Andrew smiled back at him and stood to the side as Sam addressed Kate. He wanted to see her in the Danger Room when she was ready. Andrew figured Kate would be somewhat nervous about that. After all, he wasn't exactly thrilled with Sam wanting to see him the Danger Room as soon as he was done escorting Kate to her room. He wasn't anywhere near strong enough yet. He'd be making a fool of himself and he knew it.
Still Andrew nodded to Sam. He was his boss, even if he wasn't too much older than Andrew.
"Alright." Andrew looked at Kate and moved to the door, holding it open as before, "When you're ready, Kate. Sam, I guess I'll see you down at the Danger Room in a little bit."
He had to wonder just what Sam wanted him to 'have a grasp on' such that it required going to the Danger Room. It looked like this job was going to be more interesting than he thought. At the very least it seemed it would be more than just files and office work.
Kate rose and shook Mr. Johnson's hand, "Thank you for all the help and it was very nice meeting you. I should be down sometime in the morning for my assessment," Kate turned to Andrew, "I’m ready when you are."
She followed Andrew through the hallways of the school. It didn’t seem much more complicated than Kirby Hall, it was smaller after all. The grounds themselves were a fraction of the size and the mansion was a few hundred square feet smaller. It really was kind of quaint.
After some time they arrived at a large wood door. Andrew handed her the key and she opened the door and flicked on the lights. The room was white and pink and very grily. It was also kind of cold. Kate walked over and turned the thermostat up as high as it would go. If she was ever going to sleep she was going to need to warm up this room and fast.
“Goodnight Andrew.” Kate bid him farewell and closed up to room to settle in for the night and explore the room her mother had put together.
