The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Kealey frowned slightly at Andrew’s response to what she said about a person making their own luck. He didn’t believe her, but he was going to be polite. Kealey hated that. Why did people feel the need to hold back simply because they thought what they had to say might be taken poorly?
She almost said something, but leaned back in her chair. Andrew was a little apprehensive, and Kealey didn’t want to push.
Then he started staring out the window like a kid who’d lost his puppy a week ago and nobody had even called the number on the posters to try and fleece them out of the reward. He felt that way too. Then…he dismissed her.
The same propriety that had irked her earlier had been keeping Kealey quiet, until Andrew coolly dismissed her.
No Way. No How. Not with how he felt. Kealey leaned forward, forearms resting on her knees.
”You can’t lie to me Andrew. Out with it. If you don’t want to talk about it where other people might hear…fine. But tell me what’s up.”

Oh she'd called him on it. And blast him he was going to answer wasn't he? Yeah, yeah he was. This was Kealey. He couldn't lie to her and apparently he couldn't say no to her either. He didn't want to tell her. It wasn't the place that was the problem. It was simply that he didn't want to let her worry about his issues. Oh well.
"No fooling you. Don't know why I even tried."
Andrew smirked.
"What's the point in doing what you can if what you can do is essentially zero? What then?"
That was Andrew's concern. He hated feeling like he had during the incident with Mittens. Scared dead weight about summed it up and he hated it. Yet he didn't exactly see what good he could do anyone either. Sure he could make a good brownie or torte but what good was that in the long run?

Kealey shrugged her shoulders and couldn’t help but smile just a little bit. ”I don’t know…but it usually takes a few times before people really figure out that they can’t fool me.” she admitted candidly.
Then he spoke. Explaining what the problem was. Some of Kealey felt sorry for her, she really did. It was a terrible position to be in. Wanting to do more than you thought you could hurt. Kealey also knew that it didn’t do any good to dwell on those feelings.
She took a deep breath, hoping she wasn’t about to overstep.
” Andrew. If you want to do something more. Do something more. I know this is going to sound harsh…and please believe me when I say I’m not a harsh person…but I’ve been where you are.”
She looked at him straight in the eyes, she wasn’t holding back at all.
”If you sit around telling yourself that you’re useless, you’ll be useless. You want to be able to fight? Learn how to fight. Just because you don’t have powers doesn’t mean you can’t do something good. Andrew…I’m weak as a kitten, you just have to find a way.”

Andrew gave another smirk. One of these days he'd learn. This woman was generally right when she said something. Even if he couldn't quite believe it himself well, it couldn't hurt to give it a shot. After all, she was out there facing down Mittens and a room full of gunmen and she admitted she was weak. Maybe he could do something if he tried. One step at a time though. No point in putting himself out there to get smacked around without a little preparation first. Learning to fight would be a start.
"Jeez, I ask you to come to answer a few questions and end up moping. Some friend I am."
This time Andrew smiled genuinely. It would likely be a while before he felt like he could tackle anything himself but Kealey had a point. If he didn't try then he wouldn't know.
"Thanks. You know, for some random blonde I met in a game store you're a pretty good person."
Andrew paused to smirk again.
"Now, anything else we need to cover before we break up this pity party I unwittingly convened?"

Kealey had to admit, she’d done a good job here. All the questions had been fielded with grace, poise, and sufficient information. Andrew had started to spiral a bit into pity party…but she’d helped him avert that too. He poked fun at himself, and Kealey shook her head.
”You’re a lovely friend, and I definitely owed you answers. Subterfuge is not my specialty…I’m a bit of an open book. Always have been, even if they weren‘t necessarily my emotions I was broadcasting.”
Ahhh, there it was, a legitimate smile. Kealey grinned back. It was kind of hard to help it. Andrew teased her and she laughed.
”Hey, you saved me there. That present went over ridiculously well.” “Well” Understatement of the year. Then again, the coat had been popular that day too…
Lest her mind wander too far, Kealey pulled it back to Andrew. He asked if there was anything else they needed to cover.
”Just how long you’re willing to sit here and watch me stuff my face.”

Andrew just kept on smiling. Kealey was a wonderful lady and Andrew was definitely glad he'd met her. If that meant putting himself at a little more risk and having to learn to handle himself then Andrew found that he was ok with that. She proclaimed herself an open book. Honestly that worked to Andrew's advantage.
Yeah it wasn't easy handling the things her observations brought up but it was better than just letting them sit. He needed to grow a backbone sometime. Kealey mentioned that the gift had gone over well and the look on her face said maybe it was a bit of an understatement.
"I'm glad Shin liked it then."
When she told him the only thing left to discuss Andrew laughed.
"Well, I don't have much else to do today. So, it's do nothing or watch a pretty lady and a good friend eat my baking or nothing. I think I can sit around here a while."
He leaned back in the chair, ready to sit back and spend some time with Kealey as she ate. Not a bad way to spend some time, in Andrew's humble opinion.
