The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Kealey hoped that Andrew wasn’t too bored on the tour. They’d obviously hit his highlight right at the beginning, and everything else had to seem a little lackluster. The living room was great and all…but after the kitchen, Andrew seemed pretty subdued. He was eager too, though…the Mansion had him excited. Kealey wasn’t trying very hard not to be, so she was excited too.
He was curious, and wanted to know more. He asked her how she’d come to be at the Mansion, and Kealey laughed and shook her head, ”It sounds like something right out of a TV drama.” she said, already turning to take them to the Library. She talked as they walked.
”Somehow I’ve gotten myself on the bad side of a very nasty person.” Kealey explained, ”I was meeting friends to go out and he set upon me in a bistro.”
Kealey paused for a moment, shaking her head and frowning at the memory, ”I was very lucky. Shin saved me. Then he flew me here. I stayed because I was afraid the guy would come after me again. I was already working for Sam at that point, and soon after I took the Librarian job here…”
She paused and grinned, ”There’s also the fact that Shin lives here too…there’s definite perks to living in the same building as your boyfriend.”
Kelaey hoped that hadn’t been too melodramatic and she laughed, ”Hard to believe that was over six months ago. Time flies around here. You’ll learn that fast if you stick around.”
They were at the double doors to the library now, and Kealey grinned as she reached out and pushed them open.
”This is my domain.” she said with another grin, gesturing with wide arms as they entered the large, two-story room. Kealey reconsidered that thought….”wing” was probably a better term. The library was huge, and two-storied, and her ‘helpers’ were doing their jobs, manning the circulation desk and shelving the returns.
”This is to me…what the kitchen is to you.” she said, casting a happy grin back in Andrew’s direction.

To hear it told the story of Kealey's arrival at the mansion was like something out of a drama. It didn't surprise him though. Just because Andrew had kept his head down and himself hidden didn't mean he didn't know just how much trouble being a mutant could be. He had to smile at her positive look on things. Andrew supposed that having a power like hers would require a positive outlook.
"I imagine there are." Andrew gave a small chuckle at her statement about the perks of living in the same place as her boyfriend. He'd just bet that her boyfriend, Shin she'd just called him, probably felt the same way.
Now they came to the library and Kealey seemed rather proud. The moment he walked into the room Andrew could see why. Any librarian would be proud of this place. It was huge, two full floors of books! Andrew grinned back at her when Kealey compared her feelings for the library to his for the kitchen. Maybe the first thing he'd do once he got settled in would be to bake something special for her. Of course that would require knowing her tastes. A gift you don't like is a wasted gift, especially if it's food.
"I can see why. It's amazing. I think it might take me days to get through it all."
Yes, Andrew liked it here. The people he had met were nice, in their own ways, and he was willing to bet that the rest of them were too. Job or not Andrew definitely wanted to stay.

Kealey grinned and nodded her head, pleased that everything had turned out so swimmingly. It was a rare thing that everything a person did ended up turning out right for an entire day. Meeting Andrew and bringing him to the Mansion had been an unexpected surprise, and if Kealey knew anything about the emotions running through the younger man…he was going to be around for a while.
This was definitely a good thing.
Andrew appreciated the library, he really did, and Kealey crossed her arms across her stomach with a broad, proud grin.
”Weeks.” she corrected gently when Andrew said it would take days to get through the library. ”It would take you weeks to get through this place. Trust me…I know.” She did…she’d reorganized the whole library over the summer, and it had taken ages.
They stood a few more moments, taking in the sights of the library before Kealey turned and rose an eyebrow at Andrew.
”So, what do you think? Do we past muster? If we do, I’ll take you down to registration and you can meet Shin, then we‘ll talk about getting your stuff over here.”

Apparently his admiration of her realm made Kealey happy. A grin spread across her face and she told him point blank that it would be more like weeks than days to go through this library. After a few moments more she asked him whether he liked the place. Honestly he doubted she needed to ask but it was only polite after all. It wasn't like she was a telepath after all and could yank actual thoughts out of his head.
"Of course you pass. I'm sort of looking forward to living here now. But you probably knew that."
Andrew gave the blonde woman a bright smile. For once he was calm and genuinely looking forward to something instead of half dreading it. It was good to feel like his old self again. Maybe if he stuck around here that could be a permanent thing.
