The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Daria managed a laugh in between sniffles. "I'm glad too. What was that like...? I'm assuming for a telepath a coma might be different than for a human."
She absent-mindedly ran her fingers through his hair, his face bringing more happy tears to her eyes.
She rang the buzzer for the nurse who, seeing that Mike was awake ran to get the Doc, who was still a bit upset with Daria.
"It was... incredible, and frightening. I remember everything from the past few months, but most of it is like I'm watching through someone's eyes."
The Doc cut off anything else that might have been said by rushing over. "I must admit," he said, his voice obviously excited as he began to check Mike over. "I was beginning to lose hope that you were going to come back to us." The Doc seemed much, much more excited than he had in quite a while as he busied the nurses with checking everything they possibly could. "How do you feel?"

Daria climbed off the cot to give the nurses room, standing in a corner.
"We'll see what we can do as far as food goes, liquids first, we dont want you to get sick." the doc said. He glanced at Daria. "things should be a lot smoother with you around, Mike, I think your absence stressed some of us a little more than others."
Daria rolled her eyes and stuffed her hands in her pockets as far as they could go, her fingers hit the carton of cigarettes and she absent mindedly thought about a smoke break. She dismissed the thought for the moment and watched the nurses check Mike's stats.
"Any chance for some fresh air, Doc? My lungs feel like they haven't been used in months... Oh, wait, they haven't," Mike chuckled.
The Doc smiled slightly, then waved for one of the nurses to bring over a wheelchair. Another nurse brought over one of the X-Men jumpsuits from the supply closet, and after Daria glared away all of the nurses in the general area, Mike got himself changed. His muscles were still shakey, but his mind was, evidently, still working flawlessly, as he floated easily into the wheelchair. "Shall we, my dear?"

Daria grinned, her fangs gleaming. "Sure! All the repairs on the mansion are finally over and done, and it looks really nice." She happily babbled in this manner as she smoohes his hair, adjusted his collar and wheeled him from the mansion, tail swishing happily, ears perky and attentive.
