The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The brown haired teen couldn't help but compare and contrast himself and the artifacts around him. Here he was, imperfect but alive and growing and fleshy while the other “people” in this room were statues. Imperfect only in the places where they were broken, unmoving, and made of cold marble. He was young and their origins were all approximate, they were so old. Yet in this outdoor garden the vines had their run of the statues the same way the vine growing on his wrist crawled over him.
Kai peered at a statue of Athena and sighed. It was beautiful, certainly but most important, it was peaceful. And outside. These were two of his requirements for a relaxing afternoon. Kai sat at the base of the statue and closed his eyes, becoming statue-like himself in his stillness. Maybe he would even take a nap to replenish some of his energy?
But alas, it wasn't to be. Just as his eyelids were starting to get heavy, he heard a loud crash.
Azalea now moved on to the outside part of the museum. The statues stared at her and werided her out. This is what she DID to people. She turend them into living pieces of art work. Unmoving and frozen. Shuddering she mused over her useless powers. No incidents had happened for a while, she hadn’t accidentally hurt someone for weeks. She was improving but of course something was always bound to happen. Today she wore dark wash jeans and a sleevless low cut blouse, her hair sat straight by her shoulders and her heels clicked on the cobblestones outside. One of the statues had a rather sharp edge that clumsy Azalea of course over looked, rounding the corner to see a boy in the distance she felt a slice into her shoulder. The statue started teetering over and her her head all she could do was cuss as poison blood ran out of her arm and the statue came falling down to the ground. Frantically she tried to save it. But much to her dismay she only landed in a pile of rubble with blood running down her arm. She needed to get out of here, NOW! Before she hurt anyone…again….
A flash of annoyance crossed Kai and he was surprised at himself. He must be more tired than he thought lately. Usually he had more patience with people, then again, it waaas a museum. You were supposed to be quiet and not move fast enough to crash into things.
He turned to see what the commotion was all about. It appeared to be a girl. And she appeared to be hurt. Kai sprang to his feet and made the mental shift into hero mode. He rushed over. Had it been the 18th century, he would have tried to bind her wound with strips from his shirt. But since it was the 21st century, he might have to be content with just running over and putting pressure on the bleed to get it to stop.
“Are you okay?” He asked, trying to evaluate if the would was bad enough to need pressure. Or... maybe he could use leaves as band aids? But the more he stared at the blood, the more... it was blood. And then his head was dizzy and light. And the floor came rushing up at him even though he hadn't invited it.
Azalea watched a boy run over to help her. She all but screamed at him mentally to get away. Blood was a steady stream down her arm and a small pool of blood was collecting by her leg. The closer he got the wider her eyes were. Moving backward she put her clean hand out to stop him from getting any closer. “I am ok! Leave me alone it’s ok! Really it’s just a cut its fine its really fine…” Just as she was watching him bend down and a flurry of words were flowing out of her mouth. But the words she spoke didn’t deter him. Her constant movement away from him didn’t discourage the annoying boy who was putting his own life in danger….until he fainted. Wait he fainted? The rest happened in slow motion. He was falling forward clean into the pool of blood. His body was falling to the floor. Diving forward to catch him she fell forward putting her arms out infront of the pool of blood. Just in time she dove herself into the small pool of blood dirtying her own clothes, still in the process his arms glided against hers just enogu hfor a small trail of her blood to land on his arm. Azalea looked at him and cursed mentally. NO! NO! NO! NO! Had someone been looking at the two from afar it would have looked rather comical. But not to what happened next when the venom in her blood began seeping into his skin….
He didn't faint. Kai wanted to be quite clear for the record. Even if it was only him keeping track, it was still important to show that he did NOT faint at the sight of blood... He just got woozy. And then had to sit suddenly. Which was completely different because, you see, he had sat under his own power.
Still, his slightly uncontrolled sitting may have been confusing. The girl darted forward to try to... save him? Help him? Stop him? Something like that. And his arm brushed against hers where she was wounded.
Kai hit the ground and there was a slight lag between that and when his arm started to go numb. He shook his head, physically shaking out the rest of the dizzy feeling, but his arm still felt strange. Some would call it a “pins and needles” sensation.
“It feels funny,” he commented stupidly, trying to shake the sensation off as he had the dizziness. But his arm didn't want to cooperate. It wanted to feel extra heavy. He glanced up at the girl, still half leaning over him. “If you need a band aid,” he told her, ignoring the strange feelings. “I could make one out of leaves.”
Azalea stared at him still hovering over him in probably a radius that was a little close for people that had just met two seconds ago, his arm still hung in the air paralyzed looking quite awkward. She wondered if his arm was getting tired? Huh. He started shaking like it would go away. Of course it didnt. Still she sat shocked.
"ITS OK! JUST KEEP CALM IT WILL B-" Then she noticed he was talking. Band aid?! She needed a band aid. That obvoiusly wasnt the big issue right now. The issue was that he was hurt more than her and she had made the mistake of letting her powers be known again. Crap.
"Out of leaves? A band aid out of leaves?" Was he nuts? What did he mean.....wait.....he couldnt be. No. He wasnt. He just couldnt be. "Your arm shoudl be fine pretty soon..........but you cant. I mean your not......."
He could no longer move the arm. What is going on? he mused, almost idly as he tried to grow a big enough leaf on his arm to serve as a bandage for her. Maybe a palm leaf? Or a hosta? His brain was having trouble coming up with the appropriate solution. Yet he felt changes taking effect.
Kai adjusted his eyesight so he could see what was going on and watch the leaf grow. But the twisting and replicating cells were strange looking. Not like either of those two plants. Was the DNA messed up somehow? The pattern didn't look like anything he was used to. In fact it didn't even look like it coded for a leaf at all. And yet something was certainly happening. Some of the new cells that were being produced were flowing up his arm, rather than out. He tracked this migration with his sight thing. Here and there it interacted with some spiky-looking cells. The greatest concentration of them, curiously enough, were located where her blood was staining his skin.
Fascinating! There must be some kind of a toxin! The battle raged between the spiky cells and the planty ones. After a brief moment, the planty ones started to win. Kai felt feeling begin to return to his arm and he stared at it in amazement.
“You did that?” he asked, somewhat distractedly. “Right? With some kind of poison or something, am I right? Most interesting. And is the toxin plant based, by any chance?”
