The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Ted looked at the frozen cookie in his hand. "Wow. Wish mine was a little more like that. My power's... not good. I'm not going to demonstrate it, largely because I can't control it, and because it would try to hurt you. That would be an even worse first impression than, say, falling through a door." Ted laughed, it was an easy reaction to nervousness. He didn't like telling people about his powers. "But I am stronger than you would expect, which I think has something to do with my powers, but I have no idea about them at all. All I do know is how to activate them, and to avoid it at all costs." He licked the frozen cookie, and then attempted to bite it. He found that it was only a small covering of ice that he could easily bite through. "Well, it's real ice. Cold and all. But tell me, how come you sing like that when using it? You've a nice singing voice, but I've never heard of a mutation being triggered by singing."

Raina hugged the little one back and in the brief encounter she was surprised by the sudden pang of homesickness that struck her. Millie reminded her of the little ones back home. She smiled serenly at the little one. "Nice to meet you Millie, I'm Raina, and if you ever feel like you need a big sister to help Teddy out- I'm your girl." she gently pet teddy on the head and said hello to him too then she looked back up at Ted who explained his powers briefly and then continued to ask Raina about hers.
"I don't really know..." she said honestly. "But it happends whenever I sing. In my tribe everyone had a duty and I got off easy being a chanter. We sang and chanted at special ceremonies at different times of the years... and one day when I sang things just started to freeze. It took us a while to realize it was me doing it and at first like I said my Tribe had big hopes... but when they realised it was a mutation and not a 'gift' in their eyes they sent me out to learn to control it and harness it."
She stood back up strait. "I miss being able to sing, and hum, it's strange. I play instruments... but music has always been a huge part of my life but now it's dangerous." she paused thinking a moment. "If I continued to sing, I'd probably form ice pellets in your ears." she giggled. "I'm hoping Tricity can help me harness and maintain my power. Other than that, I'm pretty average. No strength or agility beyond what I've needed to survive up north."
She got back on a stool and grabbed one of the few remaining cookies. "Like I said earlier, it seems Tricity comes to you latley. Can't blame her being so busy!" she shrugged. "I'm happy to meet you both however" she said now directing her comments to Millie and Ted. "it's nice to not feel so alone in such a new place."
Ted listened to her description of her powers, and shrugged. "Sometimes mutations can seem more of a curse, and noone knows that better than me, trust me. Shame you can't control, though I'm sure you should be able to learn how to here." He listened to her last somment; "Couldn't agree more, so far I've been shown a room and that's it. Would be nice to actually know my way around, at the moment I just wander the halls until I end up somewhere useful. Fortunately for me, I met someone who could tell me where the kitchen was. Fiona, I think her name was. It's not a bad kitchen, either." He looked round at the impressive size of it. "But then again, considering how many people live here at any one time, I suppose it's vital to keep a good food supplies. Can't afford to let the little ones go hungry." Here he ruffled Millie's hair, "You wouldn't want to run out of food now, would you? Else Merlin would get hungry."

Raina giggled. "Yes, I arrived here with Fiona. She's the one I know the most." she grinned. "Our rooms are close togeather! SO far this is my second tme in the kitchen, I've been outside on the grounds, a few dorm rooms, and the danger room... I nearly went down with a boat on the lake earlier... so I spose it's been a rather eventful few days."

Ted looked up at Raina. "Danger room? What's that? Doesn't sound like to safest of places to go to. What do you do in there, fight wild beasts? I know it's something I don't like to sound of." He tried to imagine what it would be like, and conjured images of pointy things and bitey things and other nastiness things. "Please tell me it's not what it sounds like."

"I know!" shouted Raina enthusiasticly. "I'm so glad I'm not the only one with that reaction!!!" she blushed a little. "Friends of mine took me there to 'train' and I couldn't make it past the second level. It just projects holograms and moving floors and stuff to help you train yourself... but I wasn't very good I was a little embaressed." she stood up on her toes and stretched. "I'm not a warrior... I'm a chanter... and untill I learn to do something with it I'm not really any help to anyone in a danger room."
After her little gathering in the hallway with Fade and Skoliro the mentioning of food really did make her hungry again. She walked through the hallways until she reached the kitchen again.
She saw a couple other mansion residents already in the kitchen having a conversation. Politely Nika waited until there was enough of a break for her to say something. "Hello, I'm Nika."
Ted looked up at the new arrival. He immediately noticed her mutation, and was slightly taken aback, but didn't let it show. After all, he become even furrier. "Hi, I'm Ted." He out his hand to shake, and was about to offer her a cookie when he realized that they had eaten them all. He swiftly tossed the packet into a bin and then turned back to Nika, "You a newbie like us two? Or have you been here longer?"

Raina looked up as a teen girl came into the room- probably a few years younger than ted and about 5 or 6 younger than her. She smiled at the greeting but couldn't advert her eyes when it came to the girls mutation. Raina didn't see a lot of mutants with obvious mutations. It was fascinating. She had to stop herself from going over and touching the girl's ears. "Hi!" she exclaimed. "I'm Raina. " She waited for Nika to answer the question Ted had asked.
"Hello Ted and Raina." Nika knew they two of them were staring at her. To help break the ice she tilted her head in each of their direction. "You can touch them if you really want to. They're very real." She couldn't help but smile as it seemed she always got some attention everytime she met someone new in the Mansion.
"Oh, I just got here yesterday. So I'm pretty new also. How long have the two of you been here?"
"You can touch them if you really want to. They're very real."
Ted shrugged and ran his fingers across them. "Wow, there're soft too. I just arrived, I think, I wasn't in the best of shapes. there was some guy who helped me out, no idea who he was, though I'm sure that he doesn't live here." Ted took his hand away from Nika's ear, deciding that to sit holding her ear for too long would just be rude. Not to mention awkward. "You looking for something to eat? Or just decided to hang out in the kitchen?"

Raina blushed at the offer to touch her ears but embaressingly shook her head with a 'no thanks' in an attempt to be polite. the girl was stunningly beautiful. "I just got here yesterday too." Said Raina. "I've had a rough time," she admitted. "One of the regular mutants got the wrong idea about me and I almost drowned... so you know... enough excitement for one day. but it beats living on the street or the woods. I'mg lad to have a bed. I just met Ted here." she gestured to him. "He's a cookie eating fiend." she joked.
Nika couldn't help but purr when Ted felt her ear. She never could stop from purring when someone pet her. When he finally stopped she smiled at them both. "It's very nice to meet you both. I agree with you Raina. It's so nice to have a bed and a place to call home."
She looked to Ted as he asked about eating. "Oh yes, I got a little hungry so I thought a snack would be nice." She looked around for a moment. "So does that mean there aren't any cookies left?" Nika was refering to Raina's comment about Ted being a cookie monster.
Ted raised an eyebrow as Nike purred, but it might be due to her mutation so he kept quiet. "Cookies left? After I've started eating them?" He joked, "Not in that packet, no, but I'm sure that in a kitchen this big there must be some more." He turned to Raina, "so this Danger Room, do you think I could take a crack at it sometime?" It sounded perfect, holograms would be great for practicing his mutation on. It would mean that if he failed, which was more than likely at first, he wouldn't hurt anyone. He finally had an answer, now he just needed practice. "It sounds perfect, just the thing I've been looking for to help control my mutation."

"To be honest I don't know much about the danger room despite my time in there" admitted Raina. "it wasn't for me... but I think some of the more senior members of the house could walk you through it." She turned to Nika, "So where did you come from if you don't mind me asking?
