The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The kitchen was quiet as either people hadn't woken up yet or they weren't hungry. Nika was both awake and hungry. She knew there was lots to choose from in the kitchen.
After searching through the cupboards, the pantry and the refrigerator Nika decided on some blue berry pancakes, some sauges links and a big glass of milk. She sat down at the table and began eating while wondering who might come in next.

Ted walked into the kitchen with Wallace sitting on his shoulder. Ted always thought it made him look pirate-y. They were planning to participate in their favourite pasttime; eating. Nika was already there and had beaten them to it. "Hey Nika!" Ted was already at the fridge, and pulled out a burger for him and retrieved some of Wallace's dog biscuits from his pocket. He put the burger in the microwave before sitting down next to Nika, "So how are you? Been up to much lately?"
Wallace chose this point to ignore his dog biscuit, and make a dive for Nika's food. Ted caught the flying fur ball mid-flight and sat it back oh his shoulder. "Wallace, no. Bad boy." Ted put the biscuit in Wallace's mouth to keep the puppy amused before turning back to Nika, "Sorry, he gets a little over excited. I've been good, trying to teach little Wallace here obediance. It's not working very well, though." He shrugged, almost causing Wallace to fall off of his soulder in the process. "You say you've been getting privagte tutoring lessons with Neena? That must be fun."
The sight of Wallace jumping down towards Nika's food, but then being caught and having a dog biscuit stuffed in his mouth made the cat girl giggle. It was a cute display at the very least.
"I'm sure he'll pick it up before too long."
Nika sipped her milk again and licked her lips as a couple drops were left behind. She then nodded when Ted commented on Nika getting private lessons from Neena.
"Yeah, she's really a wonderful teacher. She's been informative and very helpful. I'm really glad she's here with us. I'm doing my best to concentrate on my lessons and remember what I learn so I can do better."
Of course, Nika was being rather vague about what her lessons consisted of. She wasn't sure what others might think of her trying to get stronger. Some might think she's weak and she wanted to make sure that didn't happen. She would get as strong as she could to help protect her friends.
Ted nodded, "Cool, I think I might try and get a couple sessions with her. I kind of need to improve my transformation time." He wasn't sure how much she knew about his power, so he decided that if she wanted to know more, she'd ask. "What has Neena been teaching you? If you don't mind me asking?" The microwave chose then to ping, and Ted went to get his burger. Unbeknownst to him, Wallace managed to jump off of his shoulder and land on the table. Wallace bumbled up to Nika's hand, and licked it. Then he made another dive for her food.
Ted laughed, "Yeah, how long was I out for? All I remember is transforming, and then waking up on the other side of the room. Then I was less into thinking, and more into breaking things." He turned around, taking a bite out of his burger, and chuckled. He took on a sterner tone, "Wallace, no. Bad boy." Ted picked up the puppy, and it looked at him sorrowfully. Try as he might, Ted couldn't help but smile. "Aww, he's a cute little thing, isn't he? You want some of daddy's burger?" He deld the burger out to Wallace, who began munching away at it. Ted returned his attention to Nika, "Speaking of the try-outs, have you heard back yet?"
"I'm not sure how long you were out for. I didn't start my stop watch when you hit the floor." Nika giggled as she was trying to be playful about Ted's change during the try-outs.
She watched as Ted pulled Wallace back and then offered him some burger. Nika just smiled.
"Haven't you heard about the results? I got a text message on my phone from Tricity. I've been approved to be an X-Men trainee." Nika couldn't help but smile as she said that last part.
(OOC: by X-man trainee, does that basically mean 'newly appointed X-man' or 'very nearly an X-man'?)
IC: Nika looked understandably impressed with herself, and Ted noticed how pretty her smile was. "I left my phone in England. At this point, it'll either be in the lost and found, or it may have been sent back to my parents. Either way, it will have a flat battery and probably more messages than is healthy. Neena told me herself, I'm an X-man too!" Ted also couldn't help but grin, and didn't notice that Wallace was taking the chance to wolf down as much of the burger as he little jaws could handle.
After listening to Ted talk about his long lost phone Nika couldn't help but giggle. For some reason it was just a funny thought. When Ted mentioned Neena had told him that he was an X-Man also.
"Oh that's great!. Maybe we'll be training together now. I can't wait to be a full fledged X-Man. I wonder what our uniforms might look like."
She giggled. He liked her giggle. It was.. nice. "Uniforms? I haven't really thought about that." That was a total lie. He had seen some of the other x-men uniforms, and loved them. He really hoped to have his own soon. "I think mine would either have to be stretchy, or I'd need to replace every time I hurt myself." He laughed at the thought of having a whole wardrobe of just his uniforms. "What do you reckon yours'll look like?"
When Ted asked if Nika had thought of what her uniform might look like the cat girl smiled and blushed. She had only sort of thought of some possibilities. Not really sure about one or another so it was an on going thought process.
"Umm...well, I haven't put too much thought into it but I was thinking it would be mostly white with some light blue trim or something since those are my favorite colors. Maybe I could have cat paw prints on each shoulder."
Nika giggled again. This time it was mostly from embarrasment than anything else. She took another drink of her milk to try to flush the redness from her cheeks.
"Hey, do you think we'll get to fly in some kind of cool jet or maybe get our own vehicles?"
She wasn't too sure about that last part. Especially since she didn't even have a license.
"That sounds nice. It'll make you stand out." He grinned as she blushed, not entirely understanding why she was blushing, but for him (as with most men) the words 'understand' and 'women' tend not to go together. "I would really love to have a fast car." He had loved driving, and had lost some of that love in not having access to a car in the past months. But his little fiasco with Tristan in Central Park had refueled it. "I love driving, and driving fast is just fun! A motorbike would be pretty cool as well, means I can try to wend my way through traffic." He shrugged, "but I doubt I'll be allowed to drive anything for a while, my license is probably with my phone. And it's a lot of effort for someone with a criminal record to get a new one." Now it was his turn to blush. He hadn't really meant to admit to that, but he supposed that his name and mug-shot had been on the news for quite a while after his escape. But still, she may not have known before. Bugger.
"Yeah, I suppose I would stick out compared to others wearing dark colors. But then I tend to stand out anyways so it doesn't bother me so much. What do you think? Would I look better in white or a darker color?"
She smiled at Ted. He was very friendly and she liked that. Other than both of them having animalistic mutations it was something else they had in common. She was enjoying their morning chat even though it took a litle bit of a twist when Ted mentioned having a criminal record. Nika couldn't help but be blunt.
