The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Raphael reached out, almost impulsively, and put a gentle hand on Fade's cheek as she looked back, softly pulling her gaze away from her hand. "This way Jenny. It's better if'n you don't look." He offered a smile. "And of course it was a mistake. One can't easily turn off his or her's ears."
"Oh, well, I meant a mistake on my behalf." She said, trying not to look back at her hand. But when another shock of pain shot up her arm, her eyes looked down but her head stayed where he was holding it. "It's not bleeding is it?" She asked, it was too much strain on her eyes and she relaxed her gaze.
Raphael cast a glance down at her hand and gave a shake of his head. "No, not too bad. I've bled alot worse before, and likely from smaller cuts." He stated, mostly true. He had bled more, but... certainly not for as long. "You'll be fine, likely even escape without a visit to the Doc." He gave a certain nod.
"I hope so, I'm not one for being fixed up by someone in a white outfit. I'm more for the whole 'let it heal on it's own' kind of attitude." She shrugged. Since she wasn't thinking about the wound, it didn't hurt and she relaxed her body into a slouching position.
He watched her relax, and so let his hand fall from her cheek. A nice soft cheek... He gave his head a slight shake. "As am I, though I think I can live up to it a whee bit better than you might." He offered a smile again. "But the Doc ain'ta bad guy... gotta give 'em least that much credit."
"Yeah, it's nothing on a personal level, it's just the profession that gets me." She said. Well, now her hand didn't hurt...but then again, she couldn't feel very much in her hand. It had actually gone numb...weird.
"Again, I can understand the sentiment.... shall we change the subject?" He asked, continuing to watch her. "I mean, the current one can't exactly be up lifting and all...." He could still recall their previous engagement. It seemed like he had been able to make her feel better then, maybe once more?
"Yes, let's move on to another topic." She sighed. "Anything in particular?" She searched the corners of her mind but couldn't think of anything to talk about, all that was on her mind was pain, stupidity and that terrible, burning taste of liquor.
"Taken up any other particular new hobbies?" He asked, watching her apparently search her mind for a moment. He really wanted to ask where it was settling, but figured that it wasn't the best direction to lead the conversation.
"Nope, the usual, sneaking around, eavesdropping and getting caught because I always forget, it's hard to sneak up on a telepath or someone that can read your life aura
He cracked a small smile at that last bit. "Glad to see that you still have your sense of humor." He gave a nod, then found the conversation coming to an abrupt halt, focused his gaze downward for a moment, then looked back up at her. "What's on your mind?"
"Nothing, just random scenes of running around the mansion on the ceiling. You?" She lied, because her thoughts were of when she brokfor her mind still held thoiughts of when she broke the window and left to waste herself in a desperate attempt of easing her mental pain.
He gave a nod, studied her for a moment, then spoke. "Honestly? You, Cecelia, and Victoria." He stated, short and simple. He almost expected a request for an elaboration, and decided to provide one before even before asked. "You, for the obvious reasons... whee bit concerned about you. Victoria, also for the obvious reasons..." he failed to add that he was still beating himself for her condition, even if it was lessening as time passed. "And Cecelia 'cause she's my new student." He offered a smile for the last reason.
"Don't worry about me. I'll be fine. I can handle myself. I've been able to since I was very little." She sighed, it was true, but she didn't enjoy it too much.
"I'm certain you can... but everyone should have someone to worry about them." He stated, then immediately wondered if someone did that for him, though he tried not to let this through. "What can I do to help?"
