Mike reached out and touched Sarah's head. Let's take another look.

He and Daria were subjected to a few rapid-fire visions. In one, Jamal was hurt, but alive, with Daria and Ruby there helping him. In another, they were all in California at some time AFTER the vision could have happened. Others were unremarkable, except for the fact that they were different, and many couldn't have happend if others had.

"What's going on?" Sarah asked, frowning.

Mike frowned, looking in her head another moment before backing away. "The future's too uncertain, I suppose. Too many things could change, you can't see a definite future." He glanced at Daria, then back at Sarah. "It COULD happen... but it isn't a certainty by any means."

Sarah grinned slightly, giggling. "Well, I still see you two with cute kids, so I'm not going to try too hard to see anything different."

Mike got distinctly red, and suddenly had the urge to take a drink of juice.

"Kids?" Jamal said mistaking Mike's flush of red. Ruby looked too.

"Daria are you?..."

"NO!" Daria exclaimed. "Uh-uh. One pregnant lady is enough in this place." she laughed.

Jamal frowned.

"I can see the future." Sarah explained. "Sort of...its sketchy."

"Oh." Jamal said giving Daria another look.

"I'M NOT PREGNANT!" she cried laughing.

Not for lack of practice, Mike teased Daria mentally.

"Come on... we're superheros, not idiots," he smirked, winking at Jamal.

Sarah laughed. "What about the time you and Ronnie took-"

"Quiet, Sarah."

Daria's honey colored cheeks filled with heat immediately as she nudged Mike in the side.


"What about you and Ronnie? I want to hear this one." Daria said, grinning at Sarah.

"Grandpa told you about it," he said quickly, trying to stop Sarah.

She'd have none of it, though. "Oh, they went joyriding in dad's Porche. They were both on their learner's permits, and they got pulled over, and-"

"STOP, Sarah," Mike sighed, and she did with a satisfied smile.

Daria laughed. "oh yeah." she said grinning at Sarah.

She kissed Mike and tunred to Jamal. "mmmhmm. No babies for a while. We have so much to do. I can't imagine going on a mission and trying to find a babysitter at the last minute." she laughed.

"Mission?"

"She's in the Xmen." Sarah said. Soon after she spoke she paused for a minute which no one really caught but Mike and Daria.

She relayed them a better vision. One of ruby and Jamal, still the same age as they were in the first vision. Jamal was bandaged and he and she sat on a pretty white swing in a beautiful park. A few seconds later a very, very faint image of a prom flashed through with Jamal and ruby crowned kind and queen.

Daria smiled. "Thank goodness." she muttered.

"The Xmen? that's so cool."

Daria beamed.

"Yeah, it's one of the fringe benefits, we get to look cool in leather," he smirked.

An apple floated out of the fridge and over to where he and Daria sat.

So when are you going to try to pry the week's plans from me? he teased.

Emerald looked at her older sister who was aimlessly making a small person made of lightning dance around on the table. The little fox had kept it up for a little while but it soon fizzled out. Emmy saw Ruby snap her fingers and her fox ears flattened irritably. Emerald got up from the table and ruffled her sister's hair affectionatly. "Pup Im gonna go out for a bit Okay?" Emerald grinned.

"Emmy dont forget we are watching that Scary Movie Three tonight." Ruby said after her older sister.

"I wont! See You guys Later!" Emerald called after herself as she walked out the door.

"I wonder How scary Scary movie three is?" Ruby pondered to herself before hearing Jamal and Sarah burst with Laughter. "Whats so funny?" The fox girl asked, ear flattening back in embaressment

"Ruby Scary Movie three is a parody off of a whole bunch of Scary movies." Jamal laughed patting the fox girl on the head.

"How can you not know that?" Sarah asked with a small laugh, "Even I knew that and Im younger than you are."

"Well I have only been out of the labs for a little more than a month now maybe that is the reason." Ruby stated with a soft Fox like growl. Two sparks shocked Jamal and Sarah slightly, not enough to damage them but enough to surprise them.

"OW!" Both said in unision

"Chill out Foxy we are just joshing with ya." Jamal smiled at Ruby, which made her calm down.

"Sorry lost control of my powers for a minute there." Ruby said, blushing once again.

((Ruby is really not that intimidating when she is angry.))

Daria laughed. "Its fine. Jamal chill."

Jamal shrugged. "Its all good! She knows I'm messin with her."

Daria looked at Sarah who had the tendency to be a bit of a know it all.

Sarah sighed. "why are you always picking on me?"

"Because you're always too smart for your own good." Daria said. Ruby smiled. They looked like a family, they really did. She felt good to be a part of it.

Daria thought back to Mike.

I thought I was suppose to wait for the surprise. Does this mean I get to know? Or are you just teasing me? Because teasing me is so not cool! Tell me where we're going! as she thought her tail swished back and forth and her ears twitched.

Away from here... Mike thought innocently. Someplace in America...

Daria frowned.

Where in america? Florida, California? Puertorico? Do they count? Are they part ofthe Us territory? They are right? Where are we going!

Well... you said we had to stay close to home... so I figured the Continental US was close to home, relatively...

Daria twisted her face up like a spoiled brat and kissed him on the nose. You'd better or I'll be really...'selfish' the first couple of nights we stay there. she joked.

"I'll show you a room." Ruby offered Jamal.

"Yeah, I'll come too!" Sarah offered. She shot a glance at Daria who returned it.

Careful Sarah. Don't be one of those girls.

Aw C'mon. With my brother beign the sweetheart he is, I can't be that bad. Besides, I saw positive outcomes in my visions too!

The kids left, after Jamal gave Daria another hug.

Daria sighed and moved to another chair one that was closer to the mail she was reading when she entered.

"So," Mike said, now that the room was empty. "You have two choices. Ritzy, high-class and expensive, or outdoorsy and wild. Take your pick."

"Lets see. I'm tired...so I would go for the ritzy just cuz its more comfy. But I can't say I don't love the great out doors." she thought ofr a while then turned to Mike with Wide eyes. "Can you find a mix? Like...a forest themed hotel? With like... cabins that have all the works on the inside but its still surrounded by the woods. Does that even exist?" she laughed. She realized how spoiled she sounded. It was all Mike's fault.
