The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

>>"Ah- Well... This is one of my shadow titans- this is Loyalty or Trust- I like calling him Trusty. He was my main attempt at transportation until we went to fast and I fell off and hit my head off the street..."
"Wow." Gawan stared at the dog-creature that appeared out of the girl's shadow. Trusty? Sounded like a weird name for a, well, monster-like being created by mutant powers. But at least it had a comforting ring to it. Making Gawain feel like maybe he was not going to get torn apart in the next ten to fifteen minutes.
>>"You can come over and pet him, he's just like a big puppy~"
"Yeah. Big puppy." the young knight muttered with a smirk, and inched closer to Trusty, reaching out with his palm up, as people usually make friends with dogs. Real dogs. He had to admit, the four-eyed lizard-shadow-dog thingy looked kind of cool.
"He looks cool." he decided with a grin, and patted Trusty on the head. He liked dogs anyway "So, he's part of your ability, then? Are there more of them?..."

Loyalty rubbed it's head against Gawain's hand happy of the attention. It's tongue lulled a bit more before it gave a bark of happiness- it sounded like a weird echo then anything else but it was still a bark. Emil smiled at how Trusty- well trusted The Knight, which meant that she trusted him too- seeing as they were physical manifestations of emotions... At Gawain's question Emil nodded though halfheartedly.
"Yes, two others Argo which is my Anger. He is a large Minotaur with red tones, and then there's Joy- a large pink bird- who is well I'm sure you can figure out what it is." She giggled before retracting Trusty back into her shadow soon it became her normal shadow again. "Though Agro isn't the best thing to bring out and Joy is hard for me to summon for some reason..." She spoke thoughtfully before looking at Gawain with pale eyes. "Um.. anything else you want to know about me?"
>>"Yes, two others Argo which is my Anger. He is a large Minotaur with red tones, and then there's Joy- a large pink bird- who is well I'm sure you can figure out what it is."
Gawain nodded with a grin - so the strange shy girl could summon her emotions in the form of mythical beasts. That was a very neat mutation. He wondered if she had others, or would have, with more time and practice. She seemed to have preferences. That only made sense. He was not sure he'd be happy if she summoned Anger. ... Who am I kidding, a Minotaur sounds freakin' awesome.
>>"Though Agro isn't the best thing to bring out and Joy is hard for me to summon for some reason..."
That could be interpreted in a lot of ways, Gawain thought. Emi didn't seem so sure of herself. She was very shy, and probably a little bit lonely too.
"I'm sure you'll get better at it" he smiled "You might find it's easier than you think."
>>"Um.. anything else you want to know about me?"
"Oh, I'm sure there is a lot more to know" he grinned at the girl "But I'll probably stop grilling you now, okay? Anything you wanna know about me?"

Grilling? There was food in this conversation? Pushing back that odd thought she finally understood what he meant. "Oh! No it's okay! But um..." Emi looked shy again not sure how to ask, she didn't want to sound rude after all.... "Well what else can you do other than go through mirrors?" She was curious and even though it was a cool ability, Emil wondered if the younger teen had another ability or something... "T-That's if you want to answer that is!" She added with an embarrassed blush once more.
>>"Oh! No it's okay! But um... Well what else can you do other than go through mirrors? T-That's if you want to answer that is!"
Gawain raised an eyebrow at the girl, and briefly wondered if he should tell her about the gender shifting. Probably not. He was getting used to telling people about it, but this girl looked a bit too shy and he didn't want to come up with such an awkward topic right away. Maybe later, when they are already friends. That always worked out so well. Yup.
"Well, I can also take over your reflection in a mirror" he answered with a grin "It's fun. Some people don't take it too well though, so I don't do it often."
He didn't want her to start worrying about her reflection not being her own. That was the last thing she needed.
"It goes with the mirrorwalking, I guess." he shrugged with a smirk. "Um. I think I should be going now. But, it was nice meeting you, Emi. You're going to classes here and stuff, right? I'll see you around?"

"O-Oh... I see... That could be scary.." She spoke as she looked with slightly widened eyes. "But a cool power nonetheless!" Emil felt he was keeping something from her but didn't want to pry, instead she listened to him until he said he had to go. "O-Oh! Of course! Sorry for keeping you and everything, it was fun!" She smiled kindly before nodding. "Yeah, I'll see you around I'm almost always around the Mansion! Bye!" She said as the shadowmancer got up and waved before turning around and walking to her own separate ways as well.
