The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

As Luke crouched behind the car he could feel that things were beginning to turn in his favor. First off, the rain had stopped falling and already the clouds were beginning to dissipate. Apparently Fade had taken care of Rainwoman which meant that without clouds Mr. Lightning would have to use his own internal energy instead of what was being supplied by the heavens. His opponent was charging yet another blast but from out of nowhere several balls of ice suddenly hit the man's back and legs. While not enough to actually throw him off his feet it was more than enough to make him spin around and assess this new threat.
"You're welcome!" Sam's voice was ringing out at the very same moment that Luke was on his feet and charging his enemy. While the distraction didn't last for long it was just enough. The surprise on the man's face as he turned back around to meet Luke's fist was enough to make any fighter's heart merry. As 'Sparky' stumbled back, Luke was already pivoting with his leg lashing out in a roundhouse kick that caught the side of the man's head. The crunch of what had to be a dislocated jaw was noticeable and the results were all the predictable. Eyes rolling into the back of the head and collapsing ended Luke's engagement.
Standing upright once again, Luke swept the area with his sonar. A quick assessment showed that Sam was well in control of his fight while Fade seemed to be in a somewhat precarious position. She had won but was now awkwardly trying to find a way to rescue her opponent. "And that's what makes her an X-Man." Luke thought proudly.
And now it was decision time. Who did he help? Well, why not both. Focusing his sonar on Sam's enemy he waited for a moment when the two began to separate and then he sent a sonic blast toward the wind-mancer's unprotected back. "Paybacks!" Luke yelled to the ice-man as he took off running for the building that Fade was hanging from.
"Help's on the way!" He called up to Fade as he lept up, grabbing the ladder that would start his progression up the fire escape, "Hang on!"
In a situation like this, the only thing that Fade wanted was to be noticed by her team-mates. Dangling from the roof, she held tightly to the Rainwoman's legs. The mutated moisture produced through her skin continued to dampen her clothes, making her even heavier and harder to grab on. Although it was no longer raining, she could feel the water that had built up on her shoes begin to drip down her legs. The two were stuck between two windows. One on her left, one on her right. Since it was too low to pull her to the top and too high to try to set her down on the ground, Fade had to go with a window option.
Catching her breath, she attempted a new techinique, one she had only tried without additional weight. Phasing her knee through the wall, she turned it solid in the concrete and pulled her foot out. With her grasp redirected to her knee, she twisted her leg a little and phased the foot through the wall again. The end result was her right leg a whole six inches closer to the other window. Her legs now spread and her grasp tight, she tried the same thing with her left leg, closing the gap between her legs while trying to keep her grip on the Rainwoman.
A small slide on her hands signalled that the weight from the woman was slowly being pulled down by gravity and Fade's strength was not great enough to keep her in the suspended position much longer. She needed to get to that window. Even if she were able to get to it, she would have to pull the woman through it, requiring even more strength. Holding her in one position was much easier than hoisting her from above. Words of relief rushed to her head along with most of her blood. Luke had noticed the two women suspended from the building and he was coming to help. Just in time too, her head was throbbing with stress and pressure. All of this for a simulation. This was why she enjoyed robots more, it was not wrong to rip out their wires or let them drop from a building. In a battle, the X's were responsible for themselves and their opponent's lives. "Hurry! I can't hold her much longer," she said, still trying to shimey her way to the window.

Pillar here and a spike there and the wind man kept moving this way and that not gaining any altitude but rather just taunting Sam by staying low to the ground, he was making it clear that he greatly surpassed Sam at least when it came to their mutations. A frown touched Sam's brow as he not only tried to out wit the airman by increasing the number of pillars and spikes but also throwing balls of ice in the air.
“That all you got, that's so JV cuz!” he continued to twist and maneuver all on coming obstacles if there was only some way to get him from the behind something he wouldn't be ready for something… Sam's thoughts halted when the problem seemed to resolve it's self. All it took was a blink and then he heard a yell then Luke call out paybacks, a smirk touched Sam's lips and he remembered Luke did in fact have a mid to long distance attack.
The airman flew into a pillar of ice he just created headfirst and crashed through it causing large chucks of ice to scatter about. Luckily it was low enough so the impact with the pavement didn't do too much damage, one thing was for sure her was going to be feeling it in the morning. Sliding over to where the airman crashed Sam checked his pulse, and then froze the guy's hands and feet to the ground making sure if he did manage to wake he wouldn't be able to get away.
A few seconds went by and Sam did the same thing to Luke's injured partner, he winced at the dislocated jaw and shuddered as he did the same thing he did to his partner. Turning around and focusing on Luke and Jenny, he headed towards their direction ground level just incase they dropped Jenny's playmate. ”You guys alright?”

Luke felt like he was in a race with a ticking clock and the dangling woman was the prize. Either he would arrive in time or the woman would fall to her death. Picking up the pace Luke once again found himself wishing that he had Sara's ability for speed. SHE would have already been up these stairs and grabbing the woman long ago but Luke was just a mortal man. Sure he had sonar to see with but he didn't actually have any special physical attributes to help him in a situation like this.
"I'm coming! Just keep holding on! I'm almost there!" Luke yelled from one floor below as he turned the corner and raced up the next flight of stairs on the fire escape. There.... there was the window that would be his entry point but there wasn't time to waste with kicking or punching it in. Still half a flight away, Luke's sonic blast shot out again, shattering glass and tearing away security bars to leave him a clear hole to dive through.
"You guys alright?" Sam called from back down on the ground level.
There was no time to pause to call down in response if Luke actually wanted to make it in time to reach Fade and the Rainwoman so for the moment he stayed silent. Diving through the window he tucked into a roll and came back up to his feet, still running. With his sonar he navigated the corridors until finally he skidded to a stop at the window that Fade had been working toward. It was somewhat unnerving to see part of the woman's feet sticking out on this side of the wall while he knew everything else was on the other side. Doing his best to ignore it, Luke threw open the window and leaned outside so that Fade could see him.
"I'm right here Fade... can you reach far enough for me to grab her?"
(OOC: Feel free to have Luke grab the girl or do whatever you feel is best for the situation. I trust you to make a good decision. ;-))
Help is on the way, she told herself over and over, trying to keep herself motivated to continue draining her energy and holding on to the girl's feet. With every breath, she could feel the woman slip a little more. A blast sounded from nearby after she heard Luke's voice reminding her he was on his way to help. A wave of relief rushed over her, but she did not let go still, she only needed to hold on a bit longer. Sam called up from down below to ask if they were alright, and Fade craned her neck down to look. It appeared he would be ground support, just in case Fade could not hold on long enough. It almost made her want to drop the Rainwoman and have Sam catch her, but the risk was too great, so she held on. "Almost alright!" she replied.
Then those beautiful words came: ""I'm right here Fade... can you reach far enough for me to grab her?" The sound of help right next to her sped up her heartrate and she released a long breath, not too long so she would let go though. She looked over to see where he was, right at the window she had been making her way towards, with his arms stretched out to help. The window still was not that close, but it was closer now that Luke could catch the woman. Keeping her grip tight, she began to sway, only lightly at first until she built some speed.
In a few long sways, she had managed to get the rainwoman in the direct line for catching. With one more powerful swing, the rainwoman's limp body froze momentarily in front of the window while it switched its speed from upper left to lower left. It was just enough time to Luke to react and grab her in perfect range. Simply having the weight lifted from her made it much easier to breath and relax. Still, she kept her grip on the woman's legs until she felt it was safe to let go. "You got her?" she asked, waiting for confirmation so she could focus on getting inside herself.

(OOC: Posting out of order with CS's permission.)
IC: As soon as he was in position Fade began to sway back and forth, rocking her body the same way that a child does on a swing set. Soon she was swinging out far enough that he was able to reach out and grab hold of the Rainwoman's wrist. Tightening his grip, Luke's eyes narrowed in concentration as he made sure not to drop the person that was now his responsibility.
"I got her... just get yourself inside now." Luke said firmly as he grabbed onto the other woman's wrist, waiting for Fade to release. Finally she did and Luke was supporting the full woman's weight. With gritted teeth Luke placed a food up on the window sill for leverage and then heaved the unconscious woman up and in. In just a matter of moments she was sprawled out on the floor in an unconscious heap.
Now that she had been 'saved' there was no more concern. No first aid was necessary since as soon as the program ended she would disappear. Standing idly, Luke waited for their friend the 'Invisible Woman' to slip back inside and then they'd head downstairs to meet up with Sam.
"All in all, a good session. A very good session."
Luke grabbed the girl and pulled her inside and Fade felt a rush of relief. For a moment, she dangled from the side of the building, running her fingers through her hair and breathing calmly. Most of the blood was still rushing to her head but at least she didn't have to worry about letting go of the woman. After taking a minute to breathe, she phased her claws into the wall. Phasing her legs through where she held on so tight earlier, she swung her feet down and she clung to the wall again, this time her head on top and feet below. Climbing up, she phased through the wall instead of using the window, it was closer.
Once inside, she pulled herself up to her feet and shook her head lightly. All the blood had colored her face red and it took a few moments for it to drain down to it's normal, slightly-more pale skin tone. Sighing and stretching, she looked up. "Thank you, Luke, she was about to slip. I guess we could just leave her here," she said, stepping over the unconscious woman. Swaying a little, she made her way towards the stairs, looking back to make sure Luke was coming. Normally, she would climb down, but she was a little done with building dangling for the moment and she enjoyed some conscious company.
"I didn't see how you and Sam did with your mutants," she said as more of a question than a statement. Holding on to the railings, she made her way down the stairs, nearly even tempted to slide down the railings like she would do as a child. When she reached the bottom, the open door way led straight out to the street where Sam stood waiting. The program would turn off eventually, probably once they regrouped. "How'd you do?"

Standing under both Jenny and Luke on the outside of the building he waited to make sure they didn’t drop the water summoner or whatever she was, last thing he wanted was such a smooth (for the most part) session to end with a splat due to some weak grips. However this wasn’t the case as luck would have it they managed to get everyone inside safe and sound, so ideally Sam waited on the outside of the building with his hands in his pocket or so to speak. His hands were actually pointed at the ground where he proceeded to manipulate the water the rain lady managed to leave behind.
It only took them a few moments to exit the building but when they did he turned to face, both jenny and Luke with a grin on his face as the ice he was manipulating into a small penguin fell apart when he stopped focusing on it. Also due to the fact that the city and all in it other than the three of them started to fade meaning that the session was over. ”Well I’m glad I practiced and with Ghost, comes in handy when you run into another air elemental.” flashing Jenny a small and obvious wink (well hopefully obvious enough with his other eye in a patch) and the returned statement, ”You looked a bit bored hanging around up there…”
Turning to face Luke he nodded his head, ”Also glad you shot that that blast like you did, made things go by smoothly, he ended up flying right into a wall of ice and a few pillars after…” Sam shrugged his shoulders and then placed them on his head, ”So… I have some things that need doing, but I’ll get in touch with you later today or tomorrow?” Sam asked for conformation as he started to back up, ”Oh and the same goes for you as well Luke!” Sam said as he flashed Jenny another grin and then started to walk off.

(OOC: It's fine CS. This was going to be the end anyways.)
"That's what team mates are for." Luke said with a smile as Fade thanked him for his help, "And in this situation, yeah, we can leave her here."
The two turned and headed for the stairs, taking a nice leisurely walk back down to ground level. Luke could feel that he had worked up a sweat but it was a good feeling. He was getting back into the groove of what he did best and he was doing it with his team mates. What could be better?
"It took a while to get close but Sam threw some help my way that let me finish the job." Luke replied with a smile, "Sam seemed to have it pretty well under control when I headed over to help you and since he was waiting for us down on ground level, I'd guess he did just fine."
Stepping outside they were greeting with some of Sam's favorite ice munchkins... penguins. Toddling around, seeming to frolic in the streets before falling apart as the icemancer turned his attention back toward his two friends.
"I should have known you'd have practiced with Maya." Luke said with a chuckle, "Next time I'll try to come up with someone a little more challenging for you. I don't want you getting off so easy next time."
When Sam expressed his gratitude for Luke's assist he simply smiled and nodded. It was the sort of thing they would both automatically do for each other in a real combat situation. Even though it had been a long time since they last fought together, they were still pretty well in sync to each other's fighting style.
"I'll talk to you later Sam. Take care!"
Turning back to Fade, Luke gave her a smile and offered his hand for a quick shake, "It was good seeing you and training with you again. We'll have to do it again sometime."
Once the goodbyes were said, Luke turned and headed for the door. It was time for a shower and some shut eye. All in all, it had been a really good session.
