The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

*Tricity kept her cellphone rested on her shoulder as she opened the refridgerator and pulled out all the food that had been prepared for dinner, earlier. She put chicken, salad, and macaroni cheese out on the island and then pointed up to where the dishes were so Efren could make his own plate.* "Good to hear. What are you guys up to?"
"Nothing much. Daria's taking a shower, and then we're going to rack up a nice room service bill. The only plans we have beside the funeral are to refrain from killing my family."
There was a slightly awkward silence. "Ah... about how pissy I was earlier... I'm sorry. I'm just kind of wound up too tight right now... y'know, gunshot wounds and all." This was spoken in a typical Cass-like fashion, making light of it regardless of how completely serious the subject was. "So... I'm sorry. You didn't ask for that."
Efren opened the cupboard and grabbed a plate. It was china of the highest quality. Decorated with gold and other fancy materials. He served himself a good helping of food and went to the fridge for a beverage. He pulled out a can of Black-cherry vanilla Coke. He ate at the sink , standing up.
*Tricity listened to Cassiel as she looked over at Efren, standing up from the stool to walk over to him.* "If you guys want to put the room on the mansion's tab, it's not a problem, Cass." *She grabbed Efren's shoulders, which was a challenge, and guided him to a stool by the island so he would sit and eat. She then grabbed his soda near the sink and put it on the counter, sitting next to him to continue to talk to Cass.* "And don't worry about earlier...I know things are really crazy around here and I feel like shit because of it. When are you two coming back?"
"We shouldn't be too long, only a few days, maybe four days tops?"
He was quiet for a minute, "And I don't think it would be a good idea for the school to fund this. The farther we keep the school from anything related to my grandfather's death will probably be for the better. He left me a good chunk of his estate and cut my father out altogether. I wouldn't put it past my father to say that he only did it because our eeeeeeeevil school mind-controlled him and then killed him. Hell, the only reason we haven't seen fireworks yet is because no one else knows about the will."
He smiled after she sat him down. It was a really nice gesture having her treat a basic stranger so kindly. He whispered, "Thanks" And continued eating.
*Tricity smiled and nodded to Efren, taking a piece of chicken from the huge, plastic bowl.* "Well, just try and keep you heads low and out of trouble. I know I sound like a mother, not being much older than any of you, but...I have to do it. It's been hectic without you two here, but things are getting better." *She took a bite of the cold chicken. Tricity had forgotten to eat dinner since it was so busy.*
"It's good to be missed," Mike chuckled. "We'll be back soon... home's where the heart is, after all. Just call us if you need us. And you stay out of trouble... if I find out you're going and risking yourself since I'm not there to stop you."
*After saying goodbye to Cass, she closed her fliphone and looked over to Elfren as he got up and went to the fridge.* "Uh, no...no more caffeine for me, thanks." *Tricity took another piece of chicken from the bowl and took a bite.* "So...you like the food?"
He walked back and sat down next to her. He opened the soda and said, "Oh yeah. Its some of the best tasting food I've had in a while. I can tell I'm gonna like it here." He smiled and ate some salad and mac.
"Good! That's what I want to hear...make sure you get an appointment from the DocProf for tomorrow, ok? You can stay in whatever new bedroom you want upstairs since they've all been quarantined. Mind you, don't go into the Danger Room because I don't want you to get infected before getting the anti-virus in your system. I need to head to bed...I'm so beat." *She took her high heels from the floor after sliding down off the stool and put her hand on his shoulder.* "It's great to have you here. If you have any questions or need anything, make sure you ask me at whatever time...it doesn't matter, ok?"
He smiled, "I'll make sure of it. Thanks for everything, you know how to make someone feel welcome." He stood and put his plates in the sink. He gathered his things and extended his hand. "Thanks again, I'm gonna go get settled."
*She shook his hand and gave him a quick hug.* "The new rooms are really nice. You'll like them a lot! Oh, you can follow me upstairs, you won't need the map. I'm heading in that direction. My room is a hallway and a right away from where you'll be. Come on..." *The two headed upstairs and when they came to the fork Tricity spoke of, she wished him a good night and sweetest dreams before heading to her own room.*
