Sara let the light smile stay on her face as Luke finished talking. Some how the conversation had started to swing from what Luke was uncomfortable with to what Sara was uncomfortable with. People. Ok so she was the one that opened that subject up. It was Luke's predictable nature that had lead him to offer the information about friends.
Sara sighed. "I suppose." Sara turned on the steps and began climbing the steps again. Moving always felt better than standing still. "It's still a subject that I'm getting used to."
"So. Coffee? Tea?.. .. .. Hot cocao?" If Luke didn't want to meet Sara's Roxy then she wasn't going to completely force him. Plus she was changing the subject. If they weren't headed back to her room, then they could chat for a while in one of the common rooms.
Sam was the only one at the mansion, or really anywhere (Other than Ayesac) who really knew what Sara had grown up with. The past made it difficult for Sara to fully trust even those she considered herself close to. though she wanted that trust. She just couldn't help but second guess it. There had to be a catch to it, despite what Luke said. There always had to be a catch.
"How's Uncle Oliver?" Sara asked hoping to continue the idle conversation.

"No, I'm fine for now. I'll wait to get a drink until after I meet your friend." Luke replied, squaring his shoulders and following Sara the rest of the way up the stairs. Was he still nervous about meeting up with a large dog? Most definitely but he wasn't going to let his fear stop him. He had never before let fear stop him from accomplishing a mission and while the press had never given him any of those silly tag lines like 'The Man Without Fear' or some nonsense he knew that his demons had to be faced. Like Sara had already said, what if he had to get in someplace where german shepards or pit bulls were on guard duty?
"Uncle Oliver is Uncle Oliver." Luke replied dryly. He and his only surviving family member had never really gotten along and after Luke's takeover of the company their conversation had dropped back to almost nothing which was fine with Luke. Uncle Oliver had never acted like he wanted to have anything to do with him so and after years of trying Luke was fine with maintaing the status quo. "I haven't had much contact with him since I've been over in Europe but Deborah has kept me up to date on him a little. He's been trying to quietly buy of shares in the company to try and take back control but since I'm not selling any of my shares it's not an issue."
"But what about you? How have things been going in your life over the last year?"

Good ol' Luke. Sara had seen that stance before. She smirked as he followed her up the stairs. At the top, they took a right. "Just do me a favor and before you go in to meet Roxy, stop squaring your shoulders. Remember. Body language. Don't need her to miss understand you the way I do all the time. Just relax your stance. She is going to bark at first. She's a dog and barks at everyone." Sara said as she gave Luke just a small shove on the shoulder to try to loosen him up.
"Sorry about Uncle Oliver then." Sara said with a sigh. She remembered the beeper that he had given her. Since Luke had made himself out of reach, she'd left it in her dresser however now that he was back, she pondered the value of keeping it around again. "I suppose family gets complicated when business is mixed?" Sara couldn't say this for sure, or from her own experience. Only guess from what she'd witnessed.
"But what about you? How have things been going in your life over the last year?"
"Well I got a dog." Sara said with a shrug. "But you already knew that. Other than that, I spent some time in Romania, and I've been working on the mutation growth."
