The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Sam watched as the shifter before him brought his knee to his front and placed it on the chair. Sam regretted it, it was one, no it was the biggest mistake of his life believing what he was doing back then, what he did for T.A.T. it haunted him. It was why he kept the number he was labeled with on his back, a reminder don’t be foolish and make the same mistakes again. If Calley truly regretted killing as much as Sam did then it meant that there was indeed room to change and grow.
”Does what make me hungry for more? Thinking about it?” Sam asked curiously not entirely sure what Calley meant by the statement but answering the question how he interpreted it, ”But no, just thinking about it reminds me of who I was and who I want to be now and the future it is a driving force. Does thinking about it make you hungry for more?” Sam said giving a round about answer still happy that Calley seemed to regret the fact that he had killed.
”Does anyone else know about it?” Sam asked curiously, ”I mean have you talked to anyone about it other than me?” Sam added still somewhat surprised that Calley came to him with this truth instead of someone else. It wasn’t that he was upset about it, in fact he was glad the shifter told him, it revealed a little about his character and the fact that he did indeed care, which meant there was still hope for Calley.
”Now what do you plan on doing?” Sam asked curiously wondering what was running through Calley’s mind as he went to his paper littered chair and started collecting some of the papers and starting to stack them somewhat neatly not really paying much mind to the organization that had once gone into the pile. It was a question a much older Neena had asked him a few times that made him think about his actions, when they had somewhat similar talks in what felt was a dream or possibly a nightmare when he was behind bars.

Calley
“Plan?” On doing? The young Italian gave Cold Steel a looked that redefined ‘incredulous.’ The way the man asked made it sound like Calley had planned to be having this conversation right now. Like he’d planned to just kick at the man’s door until he showed up, and spill his guts like a fish. Like he’d planned for his actions to have consequences.
“Don’t know. You’re the only one I’ve told.” Not the only one who knew, but that wasn’t what the X-Leader had asked, and Calley had no intention of getting Kealey in trouble. She’d let him go. And didn’t scream when he’d come back. And she liked his cat form.
“...So. What now?” Calley asked, looking anywhere but at Cold Steel’s face.

Nodding his head Sam understood he also didn’t want it getting out that he had killed before so he couldn’t blame the shifter for keeping it to himself as long as he did. Something like that tends to eat away at you, gnaw on your insides even until you break down and blab to someone close. Sam had no illusions that he and Calley were close in fact Sam would have guessed he would have been the last person on earth the animal shifter would have spilled to. Regardless Sam was happy he was the one Calley confessed to, and not someone else who would make things worse.
What now? It wasn’t something that one could just move on from in fact he doubted himself what to do next. Again Sam doubted a punishment would have done anything but made things worse. Calley was hurting enough to talk to Sam about it, even with the act. Lifting his free hand and scratching the area near his eye patch like he normally did when he was debating something Sam sighed and set his slice of pizza down and brushed his hands together, ”The only thing we can really do in the situation, remember it and try to move on as best we can…” Sam said pausing slightly somewhat mournful he was serious and the cheery tone his voice usually had was gone.
”I’ll talk to the police and handle it, I will need to know where exactly it happened and who exactly it was…” Sam said running his fingers through his hair, ”I don’t think a detention is in order…” Sam said his tone still serious despite his attempt at a dark joke, ”I… don’t really know what else to do right now… I just want to make sure your alright…” Sam sighed mentally and slumped in his chair and ran his fingers through his hair once again as he attempted to re-posture himself and regain his composure.
”This isn’t something that I can overlook though Calley and it isn’t something you should overlook either…” Sam paused and then added, ”If it’s alright with you I’d prefer to talk to you a little more on the subject soon… My doors always open Calley, if I’m here that is and I hope you still have the communicator I gave you.” it was a matter Sam was familiar with and he wanted to make sure it wasn’t a matter that Calley wouldn’t take for granted.
Remember and move on. Better than forget and move on, he guessed. Maybe. The shifter gave a small nod, as Sam continued—
>> ”I’ll talk to the police and handle it, I will need to know where exactly it happened and who exactly it was…”
The nod died. Talk to the police. Handle it. Exact details to go along with his murder confession. Well if that wasn’t a tidy little package for a cop’s informant to hand over. And that’s pretty much what Cold Steel was, right? He was some guy who worked with the police, but wasn’t one himself. He just helped them catch the bad guys.
To someone who knew Calley well, his sudden stillness would be quite the warning sign. So would the appearance of black cat ears atop his head. The cat ears: they didn’t think he should turn all that information over, just like that. In fact, they thought this entire impromptu meeting was pointless.
His thoughts always seemed clearer, when he was part cat.
Insert joke about detention; tag on the admission that he didn’t know what to do (And what had Calley expected, the cat ears demanded, for the X-Leader to fix everything? No. And what was the point of talking about it, if it didn’t help anything?)
>> “I just want to make sure you’re alright…”
The cat ears flicked.
>> ”This isn’t something that I can overlook though Calley and it isn’t something you should overlook either…”
He didn’t tense. He just got even more still.
>> “If it’s alright with you I’d prefer to talk to you a little more on the subject soon… My doors always open Calley, if I’m here that is and I hope you still have the communicator I gave you.”
He didn’t relax. He just started breathing again. Talking. Door always open. That implied that he was leaving here with freedom of movement.
He’d killed a girl, he’d confessed the crime to a guy living in the police’s back pocket, and he was walking away.
The cat ears flicked off his unease.
“I still have it. Thanks, Sam,” the shifter said, rising from his chair with casual slowness. He very distinctly hadn’t answered Sam’s question about those details. Let’s see if Sam called him on it before he reached the door.

Calley had always been an enigma to not only Sam but also a few others on staff and older members in the mansion. For a while Sam thought he had a general idea of the type of person Calley was but time and time again he was proven wrong. As cat ears revealed themselves to Sam he picked up on the subtle shifts and twitches on how he was feeling about the conversation they were now having. The ear twitches mimicked that of Cammie’s whenever there was a lack of food due to Bruno eating some of it. This and the stiffness that Calley had in the chair gave Sam some insight about how he was feeling.
Calley got up and started to walk towards the door and Sam stood up and cleared his throat glad Calley still had the communicator but wanting to stop him to reassure something else. “Calley,” he paused so the shifter turned around and pay attention to what Sam said. “You have my word, that I’ll keep you out of trouble I just need to know who she was and where she was so her family can get some closure.” he paused and took a few steps to Calley only stopping to grab the box of pizza.
Walking towards the shifter Sam lifted the top of the box and offered Calley a few more, “Before you leave, feel free to take another slice or two and save it for later, Yeah?” Sam offered a sincere smile and then added, “And try to stay out of trouble alright? People here who are worried about you. Myself included.” Even if he couldn’t get through to Calley the only thing Sam could do is be there for him if he needed it.
A rustle of cloth, a whisper as it brushed over the desk’s wood; the man had stood. Calley’s ears flicked back. He paused, and turned slightly.
>> “You have my word, that I’ll keep you out of trouble I just need to know who she was and where she was so her family can get some closure.”
The guy came towards him. With the half-eaten pizza. Either Sam was a master of traps and deceptions, or he wasn’t about to take a stand against Calley’s leaving.
>> “And try to stay out of trouble alright? People here who are worried about you. Myself included.”
Baby blue eyes actually met the man’s, for once. “You’re a good guy, Sam. Really. But I can’t trust you.” The Italian lifted a slice, and turned back towards the door. “Thanks for the pizza.”
