The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Licking his ice cream he answered with a face that showed Lily he was confused with her question, ”Don’t know, never gotten tired of flying before… kind of hard to get tired of it…” he looked back to his ice cream and took another lick then added, ”But there are other things I can do around the mansion… I like the roof, good view then there are some of the kids at the mansion… they usually can keep me entertained from time to time.” School was no where on his list of things he liked to do at the mansion even the classes he occasionally enjoyed.
”Training? Mission?” Carrick repeated turning his head to Lily as she explained that it was one of the few things keeping her busy. ”So… your on the school’s super hero team then?” Carrick asked curiously knowing that there was indeed a team that was based outside of the mansion. They were super heroes who worked with the police or something like that.
Despite his disinterest with the police he was in fact interested to know a bit more about Lily. Other than knowing she was a master of torture, pretty and had a ridiculous amount of money she could spend on clothing Carrick knew next to nothing about her.
Lily smiled a mysterious smile at the gryphon boy over the ice cream. "Indeed I am" she nodded "I am a trainee anyway. I joined a few months after I moved into the Mansion. I guess I was bored." she chuckled. She really wasn't, not back then with all the new stuff to learn. "Also, I wanted to do something good. Make a difference and all that. And even though I had no idea how my powers could help anyone, or if I could even make a... how did you call it?... superhero team... I turned out to be really interesting. And helped me discover new ways of using my gift." she grinned "Do I sound like a paid advertisement yet?... Anyway. Compared to making jewelry, training for the team is definitely something new." Lily didn't really know where they were going; she was content with just walking around for now. She glanced down at the boy again. "Your turn."
Carrick smirked from behind his ice cream, ”Do they pay you to advertise them or is just a requirement to be apart of the team?” another lick and his first layer of his ice cream was gone. ”What exactly do you have to train for? Fighting super villains?” Carrick asked with a small laugh as he thought about Lily in a cartoon like superman or batman. He tried to picture her laying down the hurt on someone and he just couldn’t picture it.
”My turn?” Carrick asked wondering if she wanted to know something more in particular about him but then just deciding that she wasn’t specific so he wouldn’t be either. ”Well if we were back home you would have ran into my Da, one of the strongest telekinetics in all of Ireland, people come from all over to ask him for help!” Varrick said proudly as he took a bite into his ice cream.
Scrunching his face slightly he cringed with a brain freeze before continuing on, ”Ma’s human for the most part by I heard her saying once that my Grand Da was a mutant, her and Da think I got my wings from her side of the family…” he paused and then looked up to a flying bird, ”Never met that side of the family, think my parents and my Grand Da had a falling out before I was born, something about my Ma not following my Grand Da’s wishes…” he shrugged and looked to Lily.
Hoping that that was enough information Carrick opened up his wings slightly and looked to all her bags, ”You done shopping? Or are you planning on buying out another few stores?”
”What exactly do you have to train for? Fighting super villains?” Lily smirked right back at the boy. "Among other important things, yes. I don't usually fight if I can avoid it..." she paused, remembering Romania, then quickly shook her head "... but sometimes it's necessary." she waved th serious topic away and grinned "They find other uses for my abilities. That's why I'm usually paired up with Streak. I mean, Shawn." That, and that he was her... boyfriend. "The more silver I have, the more I can work with." Lily smiled as she listened to him talking about his family. Sounded like interesting people. Nice people also. "So, did they send you here?..." ”You done shopping? Or are you planning on buying out another few stores?” Lily chuckled, and tried to pull an apoligetic face, with not much success. "I think I'm good for today. And I don't buy out stores. I only buy stuff I like." she grinned, lifting the bags to (un)prove her point.
He nodded his head to her eating more of his ice cream, ”Sort of…” he said as he looked out to a few passer bys wondering if they had as much money in their wallets they looked like they had not that he could do much about it with Lily here anyways. ”I wasn’t doing to well back home with school and I got into a fight of some kind every day so they decided I should come to a private for mutants here, but instead of going there I decided to run away.” Carrick said as he shrugged slightly as if running away from where he was sent to stay wasn’t that big of a deal.
”Joined the circus for a year and wound up at the mansion, they were thrilled when they found out it was also a school, turned out a few connections of my Da’s lived there to, the sort of keep an eye on me from time to time.” Carrick said with a small look of disgust, he didn’t like it when they threatened to blow down his door when he refused to go to class.
He looked to Lily with a curious smirk and questioned, ”Who is Shawn?” having a feeling he already knew, ”Your boyfriend?” he teased slightly as he bit into the cone now nearing his reward for sitting through all that torture.
"Your life sounds like an adventure." Lily grinned, finishing her ice cream "Run away and join the circus, huh." It sounded like something out of a movie or a novel. Then again, gryphons were also creatures of movies and novels, so in the end it fitted Carrick's story just fine. Ther cheeks turned pink at the next question. "Yes, I guess he is my boyfriend." she smiled "People call him Silver Streak. We work together because our powers compliment each other." she twisted her wrist to show Carrick the silver bracelet she was wearing "He is full of silver. I can sense him from a mile away. That reminds me..." Lily used her powers to pull part of the silver she was wearing on her other hand, and shape it into a simple bracelet. Floating it above her palm, she glanced at Carrick. "How about I offer you one of these? I use jewelry I create to keep track of people. Not everyone, just... some people I like." she winked
”Anything else would make it boring.” Carrick said explaining his thoughts on life, everything good and bad should be an adventure, and one that you learn and grow from it was one of the many lessons that his father had instilled in him from a very young age. Carrick wanted to be able to recount all the adventures he had to his children the way his father had told him when it was bedtime story time.
”Guess?” Carrick asked curiously not really sure how to respond to a statement like that, shouldn’t she know if she was someone’s girlfriend? He shrugged his shoulders deeming it was the best response seeing as he didn’t have any experience on the subject so he could really give her a hard time about it.
His attention was drawn away from his ice cream when he watched Lily show the control of her powers. ”Deadly…” Carrick said with a sly grin wondering if the reason why Lily had so much money to spend has anything to do with her mutation. It was a brief thought one that quickly ended when he took Lily’s character into account, she didn’t really come across as someone who would use her mutation for material gain, something that he happened to do whenever he had a chance.
”Really?” Carrick asked his tail showing his excitement along with the smile on his face. He blinked once and then cleared his throat and smiled, ”Ummmm… Not really a bracelet kind of guy…” Carrick said as he gave her an apologetic smile. When she said it was for people she liked is face got red as blood raised to his cheeks. He however attempted to hide it behind engaging the ice cream cone in front of him. ”Maybe… a necklace?” Carrick asked once he could tell he was no longer blushing.
"Necklace works too." she nodded with a smile, and pulled a longer thread of silver from her bracelet. She shaped it and formed it with her powers for a while before she let it drop into her palm. It was a simple silver necklace, quite thin, the kind guys wear sometimes. Lily smiled and held it out to Carrick. "There you go. It's a special kind of silver, I can easily tell it apart from other jewels. If you don't take it off before you shift, it will snap, but at least it won't choke you." she added; the thought just occurred to her. It was not easy, making jewelry for shifters. Maybe she should work on that one day when she had her own business. "Do you like it? I can shape it into something else if you want."
The teen looked at the necklace with a smile and nodded his head, he would defiantly appreciate the not choking bit if he forgot to take it off before he shifted, not that he would intentionally shift with it on his neck to begin with it’s just some situation called for him to shift with a seconds notice. When she offered to reshape it Carrick shook his head slightly, it was already a lot making him a necklace, the gesture didn’t go unnoticed and before he took it out of her hand his own hand faltered before he touched it.
”… There is one thing I was wondering…” he paused not really sure he was coming off as grateful as he was, ”..if you could add something to it…” Carrick pointed to his heart and lifted his shirt to reveal his tattoo of his family crest on it. It was something he begged his Da to let him get it meant he was apart of his family and it was an important symbol to him.
”Could you make a coin that looks like this that can go on the necklace?” Carrick asked with wide eyes, ”Please?” his tail flicked behind him as he waited for a response before he lowered his shirt, hoping she would oblige to his request. If she couldn’t do it, it didn’t really matter the necklace was enough as it was and he would have no problem wearing the necklace.
Lily looked at the family crest and arched an eyebrow. She couldn't help but find it very cool. He would no doubt be very popular with a tattoo like that. She smiled at the gryphon boy. "All right, I can try" she took the necklace back, and it wrapped itself around her wrist as she took another bit of her silver bracelet and shaped it into a pendant. "Let me see." she kept glancing at the tattoo as she formed the piece of silver and slowly the same design started to appear on it; it was not easy, and Lily bit her lip as she focused on useing her powers for precision work. Ater long minutes, she smiled, and attached the pendant to the necklace before handing it back to him. "There you go. I did the best I could. I hope you like it."
The multi-colored eye shifter felt her gaze upon his tattooed chest which held the crest which she said she could, at least attempt to mimic on a coin that would be placed on the necklace she was creating for him. He knew beggars couldn’t be choosers but she offered and… well it would look deadly, last he checked no one in the family had a coin that had their crest on it.
The offering hand engulfed the silver that she presented for him seconds before only to bite her lip and fix her gaze at his tattoo. Carrick stood there with his shirt lifted slightly as he watched her determination and focus. He smiled slightly when the work was complete and his eyes widened to the coin with his family crest on it. His jaw lowered slightly and his hand reached out for it but then pulled back as he grinned slightly. He didn’t take it just yet, no he decided to show his appreciation for the creation of such a (in his eyes flawless) creation.
Hands falling down to his side he dropped the remainder of the cone (which he figured the birds would enjoy) and then threw his hands into the air and passed the new offering hand and wrapped his arms around Lily to fully show her how grateful he was for the gift. ”Thank you so much! The greatest thing anyone has ever given me!” Carrick said as he could hardly contain his excitement.
Backing up he took the necklace with the pedant on it and marveled at it lifting it into the air and then examining it with a closer eye running his fingers over each individual detail. ”I love it!” Carrick said as he officially decided Lily was by far the coolest person in the world.
Lily laughed as the gryphon boy hugged her; it was like suddenly having a little brother. A very excited, cheerful little brother who was happy with the gift she gave him. She smiled and patted his head, and watched him as he examined the pendant and the necklace. "I'm glad you like it" she nodded, her cheeks slightly pink with pride that she managed to create the pattern he wanted "Try not to lose it. As long as you have it I will always be able to find you." she winked. That last part was both a promise and a warning: the gryphon was not off the hook for what he did, or what he seemed to be doing when she met him. But then again, he was a kid, and a good kid too, most of the time. She'd keep an eye on him and make sure he didn't stray. "All right, Carrick" she smiled "Let's go home."
