The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"I'm not going to tell you how," Lenna replied, looking him in the eye. She spoke with a hint of disbelief, like she couldn't believe he was taking it this way. "You have an imagination. It doesn't take much to make it worse. You slept with a woman, though. At least, your body did. And you slept with yourself. That isn't the world's worst thing. If we had to break this down philosophically, you saw yourself through the eyes of another... in a very narcissistic way, as you said. Sex isn't some huge thing. You got off lucky. Lori didn't kill you, or get your body killed. Don't try and play 'wounded puppy' about sleeping with someone. I won't forgive you."
She took a swig of her water bottle, and sighed to herself. "We need a drink. You, especially. Something to take your mind off what's happened. What we need to do now is focus on what we're going to do."
People always tell you that there is no such thing as a stupid question, well they are wrong. Ranger had asked a stupid question. It was obvious how things could be worse, s/he was letting emotions get the better of him/her. And Lenna, called the Ranger on it with a lecture of sorts. It was a shock back into a more rational thought process.
"We need a drink. You, especially. Something to take your mind off what's happened. What we need to do now is focus on what we're going to do."
The Ranger straightened up in the chair, "Alright. If we get drinks, one us should remain here on guard. No sense letting someone slip in or more importantly, if Lori somehow awakens from the drug faster than normal, her slip out." No apologies for the drift into wounded puppy land. It would accomplish nothing, and waste time and words.
"You want to get them?" Lenna asked him. "Just a simple beer ought to be enough. Nothing too strong."
He was right. One of them needed to stay around and keep watch. Staying sober was also a thing one of them ought to do. She'd said he needed a drink, and that stayed true. If anyone was to be designated 'sober', it ought to be her. A single beer wouldn't make her hazy. She could handle one drink. Michael... probably needed more than one, but she'd leave that decision to him.
He could choose when he went and got them, and hey. Even the act of going to get something might help clear his feminine head.
Face. Ouch. ManLori peeled her ruggedly handsome self off of the carpet. Her man body had twisted in its sleep in a way that she often did as a woman. The problem here was that this bed was not her bed. It was skinnier than it was long and the more she'd turned the more her face had ended up off the bed and into the carpet.
That meant a sore neck, dry mouth and the carpet pattern pressed into his forehead were sensations added to the sledgehammer that was trying to escape from the inside of his skull.
It bore repeating. Face. Ouch. Once he'd gotten his feet underneath herself she opened the door. Red veined eyes took in the guard there and slammed it shut again. Stupid women would have to wait their turn. He went for the washcloth, realized the sink was actually an option before realizing that the bathtub was the best option.
Her man hands fumbled at the turny knobs before blessedly cool water splattered into the basin of the bathtub. He tried to sort of roll in, but the shower curtain got in the way and pulled the hanging bar down with a clatter.
In the end she was snug as a bug in the tub wrapped in a shower curtain with the shower on full.
"You want to get them? Just a simple beer ought to be enough. Nothing too strong."
"Sure." The Ranger stood up, took hold of the gun totting purse, and took off. S/he was not about to leave a gun laying around where people could take it, not that that was likely with Lenna nearby, and you never know when having one on your person could be useful.
Not entirely sure how to get to where the drinks were stored away, the Ranger was able to make his female way there well enough. S/he found the refrigerator with them in them and took out a few beers. S/he didn't even care to pick any brand in particular, just a few beers. S/he figured that s/he would drink one now, and then maybe another later. Though, to not have to make a second trip s/he went ahead and carried a pair of them back for him/herself and one for Lenna.
Picking up a bottle opener s/he made her way back to guard duty. A brief return trip during which s/he opened one of his/her beers, and then arriving back handed Lenna her beer and the opener."There you go." S/he then set the second beer by his/her chair and the purse next to it.
S/he sat back and and drink the beer, believing that it would be peaceful for a while. That was not too be the case as Lori opened the door and looked out at them. Her face looking like she slept... with it on the floor? She then slammed the door shut and a few moments later water could be heard running.
"I guess shes up...." There was a crash, the Ranger sprang to his female feet, downing the last of the beer as s/he rose. S/he couldn't let it go to waste. set the empty bottle on the chair and moved to the door. There was no way of knowing for sure what the crash was, but if nothing else the Ranger needed to make sure his body was still fine, not uncontentious face down in the rising water of a tub. S/he gripped the knob and turned, it was unlocked, so s/he opened the door and moved into the room and toward the bathroom door. "Hey! Are you alright in there?" If Lori didn't answer before the Ranger made it to the door, s/he was coming in.
When The Ranger's body's face appeared briefly in the doorway, Lenna set her beer bottle down on the floor.
>>"I guess shes up...."
"Yeah..."
CRASH
Lenna sighed, and held her forehead. Even drugged, Lori was a nuisance. The Ranger was on his her-feet, so Lenna got up too. She supposed they should go check on him-her,together... especially if water was involved. They didn't want Lori's body getting zapped by lousy planning. Lenna left her beer where it lay, hoping idly no Order Toddlers scampered by to steal it. She entered the bathroom after Lori's body.
Lenna stood behind The Ranger, waiting for an answer. "Make sure you steer clear of the water," She added silently. "When we get in there, I'll take point to shut it off."
Was she okay? "Yep." She man cringed at the bathroom echo. "Come in, I've got all your clothes on. And shhh. Don't talk so loud."
ManLori pulled the plastic up like a blanket and rolled onto his side. The water pelted the downed shower curtain and soaked into her bed warmed clothes to provide blessedly cool relief. The water splatter didn't quite match up with the throbbing pain in her man head. Somehow that made it better.
"Make sure you steer clear of the water, When we get in there, I'll take point to shut it off."
The Ranger nodded and replied with, "Alright." and continued on his female way to the bathroom door. Before reaching it he heard his voice from the other side answering back with.
"Yep. Come in, I've got all your clothes on. And shhh. Don't talk so loud."
Good, Lori answered. Her crash in the bathroom in his body hadn't incapacitated her face down in pooling water, or anything similar to that. The Ranger opened the door and stepped inside, and out of the way so Lenna could follow. As long as she was there getting wet wasn't too big of an issue, but it would still be annoying then and when having to dry off before leaving her aura.
S/he observed the scene. Water running out of the spigot into the tub, onto the shower curtain Lori was using as a blanket while fully dressed. Lori must have somehow fallen into the tub and took the curtain with her, and as long as there was no head injury his body should be fine.
Lenna almost looked disappointed... disappointed in Lori for being so careless, of course. If she was showering in her dry clothes, then... they'd be wet. They'd need new clothes for Ranger's body... and someone would have to get those.
Lenna pondered this as she stepped into the bathroom, cut the water, and swept any spillage up with a dry towel.
"Are you able to walk?" She asked in an exasperated tone. "Or do I need to carry you back to bed?"
A glance back to Michael. "We'll need to get her some clean him-clothes to wear, once we dry her off."
Did she need to be carried? No. Was the idea of Lenna carrying her making her smiiiiiile? Heck yes. It was just unfortunate that she was not going to realize this. "I'm bushed not a baby. Yeesh." She sighed and pulled the shower curtain over her head. "I don't get water very often." She watched the drops roll down the clear plastic material from the underside and sighed again. If she kept man sighing like this she was going to get old fast.
Time to act. Michael's eyes peeked out from the edge of the plastic. "Grab me some asprin, a bloody mary and some clothes. I can get this fabulousness together." She motioned with a lot of wrist flick and flare. That was just for Michael because it looked very effeminate.
Stupid gas station girl turning off her water. One last sigh for the road and then it was time to put that head throb to the test. It was always worst when moving. So why did he always have to move when hung over? Eventually the tub was defeated and ManLori found a towel. That was almost as good as the cool water... no. actually it wasn't.
"So... what do you want?" She could take off the clothes, but not the skin. None of this was her fault.
While the Ranger sat on the side lines, benched due to water in the area, Lenna made her way in and took care of business. Turned off the water and handled spillage with a towel.
"Are you able to walk? Or do I need to carry you back to bed?" Lenna addressed Lori, and then glanced to the Ranger and stated, "We'll need to get her some clean him-clothes to wear, once we dry her off."
The Ranger nodded, the only question was where but that could be handled momentarily. Aside from going out and getting some, Lori might know where best to find some and s/he could bother her with that once she was up out of the tub.
"I'm bushed not a baby. Yeesh." Lori pulled the curtain up over the Ranger's body's head. The Ranger rolled his female eyes, it was like a child not wanting to get up in the morning."I don't get water very often."
A moment later she peeked her man eyes out from under the curtain and demanded, "Grab me some asprin, a bloody mary and some clothes. I can get this fabulousness together." She then flicked the Ranger's wrist around in a nowhere near male fashion, much to the irritatiion of the Ranger. And aspirin, he hadn't had that in years. He was a user of grunt candy, Ibuprofen.
Now was as good a time as any to ask, "Is there anywhere here we could find clothes that'd fit? T' keep from havin' t' go out and pick up some... An' I guess while we're on the subject, any clothes that'd yer body here? So I don' have to keep borrowin' from Lenna."
As s/he spoke s/he slid into the doorway, posed to go collect the items for Lori. Meanwhile, Lori was climbing up out of the tub and found a towel.
"So... what do you want?"
"T' make sure you hadn't cracked my skull in or were drownin'. "
From the way Lori was acting, it was hard to tell she wasn't a baby. Whining as she was, and moaning, groaning, complaining? Smiling pervertedly? Okay. Maybe that one wasn't as 'baby' as it could have been. Sheesh. Roofies really brought out the worst in people.
Lenna didn't say a word, though. Telling a baby they were acting like a baby accomplished nothing. Instead, she balled up the wet towel, and dumped it into the laundry bin by the door.
Luckily for Lenna, she entirely missed that wrist flick. She wouldn't have been able to take Michael's body seriously anymore if she'd seen it.
A bloody Mary? No way she'd get that. Coffee and lots of water, that's what she needed. And spare pants. Wet pants just didn't look good on a man. Neither did wet dog and carpet smell.
Lori asked what they wanted, the Ranger said her part, and Lenna added hers.
"I want this body swap undone. Once you're sober enough to live, we can plan our next move. Until then... let's keep this simple. Clothes and recovery."
"I have not cracked your skull, gotten a tattoo nor have I eaten too much candy. I can brush your teeth if you want, they feel pretty furry, but if this whole..." She motioned up and down her man body, "switch thing turns out to be permanent. At some point it's not your body anymore."
She'd been stuck with the short end of the stick for long enough. This was like a vacation for her. And really? Gas station girl had very little to do with any of this unless... unleeeeess~
Michael's body turned on the water in the sink and Lori scooped water up into her man mouth to swish around. She bent over as was natural when sipping from a low sink (in her body, this sink wasn't nearly as short). With wet pants and firm buns of steel that buttocks would be like a magnet to a girl that liked this body.
She dubbed her study "testing the waters" in her mind as she emptied her man mouth and scrubbed at her teeth with her fingers. Swishing the water had actually helped. Her man tongue no longer tasted like sawdust.
The Ranger had been fairly accommodating, all things considered, willing to retrieve some dry clothes and grunt candy if s/he could find anything. Not to mention that pesky insuring Lori was still alive thing, granted the motive was a little more selfish. Lenna by contrast was straight to business.
Instead of just answering the Ranger inquiry regarding the location of clothes for his body and possibly hers, Lori announced that she had not damaged his body and brought up a point the Ranger did not want to accept as a possibility, but knew was true given its premise. If the switch was permanent, he would have to stop seeing his body as his.
S/he thought about that for a moment while Lori took to dental hygiene with his finger and water alone. S/he leaned against the door frame and and was oblivious to what Lori was doing besides cleaning his teeth.
"We can deal that possibility later. For now though, lets handle getting you over this drugging." Rather then dwelling on an unfortunate possibility the Ranger shifted the conversation back. "Now, where would I find some clothes for my body and if possible yours?"
Lenna was not so weak she couldn't control herself. Lori obviously didn't understand the kind of iron will the woman she was dealing with had. Lenna wouldn't give in, nor would she give up. They were going to figure out how to undo the swap. She'd promised, and she didn't back out on promises. She didn't renege on agreements. Michael and her had gotten this far. Nobody had cracked skulls, broken fingers, or disturbing tattoos yet. They could keep it that way.
They could move on.
Lenna crossed her arms, and arched an eyebrow at Michael's body. "If all else fails, we can always find that Full-Null adapted Mars mentioned. Do you know where he is? Maybe, he could undo whatever it is someone did." She hadn't told ManLori what she knew yet. Obviously, there were options here, beyond giving in and rolling over... or bending over, and wiggling one's buttocks, as seemed Lori's usual custom.
