The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Tyranny found her self in the NYC library, it was behemoth, colossal, epic, gargantuan, gigantic, huge. She sat the thesaurus down and pouted her lips. You know what was frustrating? Being surrounded by thousands if not millions of books, and looking at a thesaurus. She liked to read, she loved it, but for some reason, she couldn't seem to settle on a genre, fiction, non...scifi, fantasy, thriller, mystery...ohhhhh mystery, she wondered if they had the new jack colepepper book. it was supposed to be out soon. ohhhh, Sgt. Henry Splice. He was good, Tyranny was better, but oh splice was good.
She made her way to a computer console with her arms out already, ready to search colepepper in the database and find the gold. "Damn!" it wasn't out or they didn't have it. now she now what book she wanted but they didn't have it. Ugh, now she was ruined for reading.
You know what was frustrating? being surrounded by this many books and not being able to pick one cuase you were ruined for literature for atleast a day or two. She moped her way over to the music section and other mixxed media, she typically wanted to make fun of the people in this section, who goes to a library for a not-book. "come on people, get some imagination, this isn't a video store, soooo lazy."she thought as she ran her finger down the rows of cd's.
It was the future already. It had been the future for the past few years. People needed to think outside the box when it came to mixed media. The days of libraries filled soley with books were in the past. These days, if you were stuck inside your little blue boxes, you couldn't see the world beyond that was so much larger... and filled with Red Hot Chili Peppers CDs.
Yeah. Lenna was a fan. Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metalica, heavy German synth music, Radiohead, classical... she had an ear for good music, whatever it was. She'd even heard some Mars Volta in a hip little coffee cafe. Now that had been unique music. The New York Public library had an awful lot to offer when it came to things... literature, magazines, movies, and music. Today, her poison was to be taken aurally. She'd come for listening material.
She hit the racks.
Let's see here... Stadium Arcadium, One Hot Minute, Blood Sugar Sex Magik, By the Way... Tyranny.
Her eyes rose as she came to the Tyranny section. The section Tyrannys were in. Fully comprised of women named Tyranny she hadn't seen in forever. Lenna coughed, and tapped the woman on the shoulder.
Casually, she turned away, skipping her finger down the lines of CDs as if nothing had even happened.
Tyranny spun on her heel and didn't quite make it all the way around to Lenna, no in fact she had turned to catch a male teen, who was now wide eyed but had obviously been looking in her direction, his pair of friends laughed and made a quick exit, he however seemed to be glued to the ground. stuck in place, the dear that invited the headlights to let the beast of a truck behind it to run it over.
So what she had a skirt that wouldn't have passed a school dress code fingertip lengt rule, so what her tank top was slowly but surely crawling up her midsection, so what that her socks started just above her knees. and had been all white except for a design of four arrows pointing upward, leading the eye to her the patch of tan flesh in between said skirt and socks.
" Yeah?! what do you want kid?" She glared slightly as he feigned stupidity and unknowing. she took a predatory step forward. "Listen, if you think that you can just tap a ladies shoulder and stand there with stupid written on your face and not have the lady care. then you got another thing coming."
a strategically placed librarian shushed Tyranny and the boy ran the second she looked over at the middle aged woman. " No, you shush. We are in new york, home of the new yorker, we are loud, get used to it." she huffed and spun back around before the librarian could get a word in edge wise. now actually looking at the c.d's. she was mumbling what might be obscenities and the occasional "old lady" and "punk kid."
It seemed her friendly shoulder tap had brought a very different end than the one she'd wanted to come about. Now, Tyranny was cursing under her breath, and generally ticked off.
Let's try that again...
"I hear strawberry waffles are good," Lenna announced conversationally, to no one in particular. "Though, I'm more of a red hot chili pepper fan?"
Yes. That was casual, and decipherable. "Tyranny?"
Tyranny flicked her eyes at the Ahem and then her ears perked at the snarky line that came after and the one that followed that sealed the deal. She looked up on the questioning word of her name. Her eyebrows went up in understanding of what just happened her lips pursed in the awe of the fact she just chased off two teenage Males that were in the library and shushed a librarian, this was obviously their shushing territory, yet here she was. she dropped her surprise with a quite huff that seemed to let the tension out of her. " The strawberry pancakes are good, but the raspberry are better. Way less dangerous, and if we are talking peppers, the new stuff is leagues ahead of their old stuff. and in general, any man with enough guts to strut around a stage only wearing a sock is at least good for a fun night. even if you never calm him back again just to hide from the memories of what has been. How are you, Lenna?" The new yorker smiled her first one since she'd entered the building.
"Good," Lenna smiled. "Alive. You?" It certainly had been a while. Not since the emergency room. "You ever hear back from that pervert who ran off?" The mirrorwalker. He'd ditched. "Maybe we should hunt him down. I never got a chance to thank him. Or slap."
Pause.
"Or, we could do something else. What are you up to these days?"
