The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Naw, Aura, I'll pass on that offer." Gears replied softly, "I know a bit about the Sanctuary and our ideologies don't exactly mix. I don't love humans but I sure as hell don't think us mutants have done anything more of value. Thanks for the gesture mind, it does mean a lot." It might offend her but he saw no point in being dishonest, Gears didn't diffrentiate between humans and mutants just as he didn't diffrentiate between race or religion. Every motherf*cker was as bad as everybody else and he could remember times where both 'sides' of the extremist mutant and human groups had done terrible things. Aura might not be Order, Gears hadn't been back long enough to know, but her attitude was definitely in line with that particular group. For now it didn't matter, she seemed friendly enough considering she'd just offered him a place to stay. "Anyway I was never good with dorms and sharing kitchens and stuff, I like my personal comforts!" Gears chuckled as an after thought.
Gears cocked his head as he studied Lenna with some curiosity, this was an interesting power indeed and he certainly didn't want to see what it did to him unless it was confirmed non-painful! "That's interesting gal, it must make your social life somewhat difficult at times though, right? You do a lot of work with mutants?" The latter question was somewhat pointed, a power such as hers would be considered very valuable by those who could see its positive uses.
"I see, well we all have our own paths" she said honestly, a bit disappointed he did not want to move in, but that did not mean he would not aide their cause at some point. "I am use to sharing everything" she said being very use to joint quarters conditions. The forest had been full of such things, in fact those who failed to get a long with the team usually ended up dead, simply from thinking to much on the friction of it.
"I admit i don't like getting to close to my friend here for that very reason, my powers are like my hands, it never feels right if their missing" she said not really knowing what it would be like to lack one for her arms at all. Still she was sure the point she was trying to make would get through. "I have used my powers every day since them emerged" she said trying to explain further
Aura without thinking formed her Aura around her thumb, then as that faded it appeared on the next finger, hopping from finger to finger untill it reached her pinky, then she hopped it over to her other thumb and continued the pattern. SO use to the excercise was she, that she rarely even did it anymore, thinking about it. Looking around again she saw a few humans who were looking at them, but they moved on, when her eyes looked over them, obviously not willing to get one one of the mutants bad sides.
>>"That's interesting gal, it must make your social life somewhat difficult at times though, right? You do a lot of work with mutants?"
"Occasionally." Lenna smiled, and nodded to Aura. "Though, usually I don't stick around mutants that closely. I like to let them do what they do. It's usually pretty cool."
She didn't elaborate further. This man wasn't Order. He didn't think their 'ideologies' mixed. Part of her wondered what sorts of ideologies a big silver car had. Going fast? Playing loud music? Getting lots of women to ride in him?
She quashed the question, and found a new one.
"So. Car form. Think we could go for a ride? I only weaken. I'm curious to see how that'd work on a car-man like you." She smiled an innocent smile. She was curious. Couldn't a girl be curious about how her powers interacted with other peoples' powers? What was the worst that could go wrong?
Gears cocked his head, he sensed there was something more to the question than she was letting on. He shrugged and smiled carefully back. "Uh sure, lady, you can both come for a drive with Gears if you like?" Gears wasn't sure how Aura would react to being within Lenna's field, he wasn't sure how he'd end up himself. He took four paces towards Lenna, at first he felt nothing and then a shiver trembled down what should have been his spine. His body felt as if it had forgotten something important, almost as if something natural to his systems had been restrained. Gears could understand why Aura didn't like the feeling, it wasn't pleasant but for Gears it wasn't exactly debilitating; simply uncomfortable. "Well I'm not dead, yet." Touch wood?
Aura took notice how Lenna referred to other people being mutant's. SHe wondered why that was but chalked it up the idea that maybe she just did not have much pride in her mutation. That was a sad thought to her but their was not much she could do about it right now. Instead she looked between the two other mutants with a smile.
Aura did not like being to close to Lenna but she guessed it would be all riight for a short time. Aura was glad when Gears proced to be all right after entering Lenn'a feild. Maybe this car rise in the other mutant would go better then she hoped. "Im game" she said looking between the two curiously. "Any ware specific?" she asked wondering of their over all destination. She wonderd how well gears drove and if he obeys the traffic laws, she knew she did not, at least not very well, last time she had driven a car into a pool.
It seemed like Gears could handle being in her aura so far. No stumbling blocks, no internal oil bleeds. He probably couldn't transform, but he could walk.
"Where would you like to go?" She looked to the car man with a small smile. "You're driving, after all."
Gears gained a bit of confidence having not yet died under Lenna's aura of debilitating doom... He funked out a slight jig and pointed in the direction of the nearest road. "Well if we're having a spin let's take advantage of the tarmac, yeah?" Gears began moving off, expecting the two women to follow him. He padded softly with an ease that belied both his size and his weight, although the soft ground felt the strain of his weight and added to the apparent bounce that Gears held in his step. "Also, Lenna, if I'm gonna transform let's do it out of your range yeah? I don't want anything malfunctioning mid-transformation 'cause that might be messy gal!" Gears chuckled softly, he met some daft scenarios in this park...
"Tar....mat?" Aura repeated clearly confused by the word. It was a term she had never heard before. Was that the grass around them, she wondered to herself. She followed Gears anyway however curious on how this would turn out. At the very least she could learn about the other mutant and what he could do, she had certainly never met anyone else who could shift to car form before. She looked around as she met stares people looked away and went on about their business, perhapse it was good they were going for a ride soon.
>>"Well if we're having a spin let's take advantage of the tarmac, yeah?"
"Sounds fine," Lenna replied with a smile.
Lenna followed, but she gave him plenty of room. She certainly didn't want any messy situations. "Nope," She shook her head. "We don't want any of those. I'll keep back when you transform. Let me know when you're ready."
She cradled her book under her arm as she walked. Today's visit to the park was certainly shaping up into something interesting.
ic - "Tarmac hun, what the roads are made of yeah?" Gears smiled patiently as he moved on to the road, he gave a cheeky thumbs up before grinding back in to action. His legs clunked and then twirled efficiently as his chest folded down and configured the main bulk of the chassis. Gears grunted silently as his parts clunked and slotted neatly in to place. A few passers by gasped and one jumped in shock as he became an sleek Audi R8, He felt the seats unfold and popped open both rear doors as the driving wheel span and settled in to its rightful place. The knob on the radio turned and his gear stick slotted with a phantom manouevre in to first gear, Gears' voice emanated from the crackling radio. "You guys gonna get in?" he chuckled, giving a pause to let them take the transformation in once more.
SHe watched the transformation with interest well considering the name for the streets material. SHe was still trying to figure out how to use such information when the talking car mutant invited them in. She opened the door and got into the car mutant. The situation was kind of odd, as she had never been able to literally get inside another mutant before. Looking around curiously Aura ran her fingers across the dashbiard considering how much this mutant really did look like a car, although Aura would not know the diffrence between an audi 8 and a corvette.
The car was sleek, expensive-looking, and nice. It was the kind of car a rich person might drive. Lenna liked it, even though she'd never have driven something so fancy. No, she was less a 'nice car' person, more a motorbike-lover. She'd never actually owned a car. She'd driven plenty. Candy vans, jeeps, rentals, but she'd never put her name down on paperwork.
She idly wondered if there were any good motorcycle mutants around. This guy was a great ride. One could only imagine what a motorbike would be like.
"Very nice," Lenna said. She looked to Aura. "Comfy seats, huh?"
Gears chirped up as they settled down inside, "You know I can feel that, lady." he directed at which ever one was checking out his dashboard. After all these years he still felt it to be incredibly awkward having people inside of him. "I know of a pretty decent cafe in the area if you'd be interested in a drink?" Sirius locked his gear stick in to place and felt the clutch bite, with the pedal depression he felt his wheels churn to life and as his car form accelerated he assimilated with the NYC traffic. Blending with the norms of day to day life was in many ways soothing when everything else in his existence was seen from the confines of being a mutant. As he thought about it, Gears realised that he didn't mind where they went; it was just nice to be socialising again.
"Yes" Aura said to lenna though it was clear, she did not care much about the seat's at all. SHe was more concerned with how well the mutant blended in. After all even if he did not help the order and opposed them, they could still sue the information. Stills he had to admit the car was nicer then the ones she was used to stealing. Friendlier as well, she mused to herself as she looked out the window.
"I could use a drink" she said thinking she was actually some what thirsty. SHe saw that gears was blending in quite well, then a thought struck her and she looked over to gears. " So what about plates?" she said figuring he could not have an actual set. Then she reminded herself that she had no idea what the requirements were for plates anyway, she might even be able to get a set.
"Food is fine," Lenna shrugged, leaning back in the chair. She closed her eyes for a moment, just relaxing. The seats really were nice. All the other stuff didn't really matter for the moment. It was a nice day, in a nice car, and they were joyriding. That was good.
A minute later, she sat back up again, and pulled out her book. She glanced casually at the pages. "How does a mutant like you eat?" She asked conversationally. "Do you take oil or coffee?"
