The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

I learn something new(about myself)every day(Juka)
Juka felt like celebrating with the untimely demise of his giant, flowery, metallic foe. Bruised and battered or not, he had come out victorious. In fact, even better, it seemed Saph had likewise come out on top, although the both of them looked a little worse for wear. Or at least he assumed he looked a little worse for wear based on the many aches and pains he was now experiencing, but he could certainly attest to the fact that his partner was. He was even bleeding a little.
"What's the matter, Jukes, can't handle a little pink pea shooter?"
"Pea shooters? No problem," Juka answered cockily. Unfortunately his cocky attitude almost cost him as a horde of tiny robots suddenly erupted, seemingly out of nowhere and began to swarm. It was almost a reflexive action combined with Saph's barely on time warning that allowed him to dodge the first round of attacks.
"Up I go." Juka sent his bubble straight up, halting about 25 ft above the ground. Tiny robots swarmed and he commanded his anvils to windmill around him at high velocities. A robot flew in for the attack, getting struck down by an anvil. OK, so as long as his anvils kept moving, not to many robots came all at once and there weren't any surprises, he would be ok. Hopefully.
Crushes and crashes blurred into a staccato of jabs, spins, throws and moments of success diverted by bursts of panic.
Saphirus spun on his heels, hooking a passing bot with the curved head of his crowbar, and putting a good bit of effort into launching it back into another of the charging bot. It was a cool image; he couldn't tell because his eyes were closed, which made it even cooler. What he forgot to adjust for was the fact that the ground stood still, so he couldn't feel it moving... There was a bot arm on the ground, he stumbled when he stepped on it, and was forced to open up his eyes once more just in time to see a small bot sneaking up on him.
Lucky... He realized then and there that he could only feel things that were moving fast... things that had force behind them... Apparently this little bot could have snuck right up on him and kicked him in the jewels, and he would have been none the wiser until he was on the floor writhing in pain. He crushed the bot with his crow bar, and sent a back kick to a bot he felt jumping at him from behind. It clung to his foot, but he slammed it down a few times while whacking another bot to silence it.
Once his foot was free of the crushed can, he had a half second to look around... the mini bots were everywhere.... they needed a new tactic. "Jukes! Can you come lower? Just above me... I'll get any that get past your anvils!" Saph reached out with his right hand to poke an incoming bot, robbing it of it's forward force. He then punted it into the crowd as he waited for Juka to comply... The car would be coming soon, and he had a plan....
Juka grinned as one of his anvils struck one of the tiny flying bots, sending shards of metal raining to the ground. It was, all things considered, a rather satisfying sensation. Normally he didn't much like fighting, although he'd been slowly learning how to do it (mostly through trial and error) in order to help people, but since there was no one to get hurt in the destroying of robots, he was discovering that it was actually rather fun to hit things so hard that they exploded.
The only problem was that there was an awful lot of robots and it was proving to be rather difficult for Juka to keep track of them all. For every one that he spotted and struck intentionally, another would be gotten by shear luck, simply because his anvils were moving around so quickly that it was difficult for the little robots to get inside their guard. He began to lose track of just how many of the robots he had managed to destroy.
"Jukes! Can you come lower? Just above me... I'll get any that get past your anvils!"
"On my way," Juka yelled down, lowering his bubble. A change of strategy seemed to be exactly what they needed. Looking below him, he could see that Saph was just as overwhelmed by the swarm of machines as he was. He halted his descent just above the other man, as directed, and continued his assault. If only he had eyes at the back of his head this would have been so much easier to deal with.
He let whirling and twirling anvils consume his mind; their impacts with other objects covered Saph like a blanket of action, embracing him just tightly enough for him to step around when one object got through, and smack it back from whence it came.
It was surreal. It was blissful. The buzzing of force around him was not unlike a hive of bees on the attack; for once, though, he was the one stinging. The little robots didn't stand a chance. The outer and inner defense was too great for them to penetrate, they fell too and fro like so many raindrops against a the floor of a shower, their pieces landing about their bodies as they crashed to the ground.
Saph was so caught up in the moment that he almost missed the sound of a high-performance engine closing in. Unfortunately for the pink car, this was not horse shoes. Saph looked up from the destruction momentarily, figuring Juka could handle the greatly thinned minibots for a moment.
"Jukes! There is a big pink race car on it's way, and I know just how we should take it out! Is there any way you can push your anvils together and make a platform? I know you can move those things pretty fast, and I want you to launch me at the car when it comes!" He figured if the four anvils were pressed together, there would be a point in the middle that he could tuck himself into a little, thus making sure he wouldn't fall out... If this attack was possible, he was certain it would be epic.
He sent a back handed swing at another incoming bot, smacking it's head clear off.
It felt very much like playing some sort of funny game of dodge ball except that instead of dodging balls he was smashing tiny robots. Once again Saph proved to be an excellent partner and Juka couldn't help but grin at the whole experience. Who knew smashing deadly robots to hundreds of tiny little metal bits could be so very much fun?
Between Juka's anvils and Saph's crowbar, it seemed like none of the little robots were likely to get through their defenses. Something at the back of his mind, however, told him that this was far too easy. After the giant robots from before that had given them each so much difficulty, it didn't seem right that the swarm of little ones should be so easily dispatched.
Just as Juka was thinking that, Saph warned him of an incoming pink car whose engine could now be heard. "I don't know if it'll work but I can try," Juka answered. Doing as suggested, with the hope that Saph would be able to deal with the far reduced mini robots in the process, he pressed his four anvils together. The result was a sort of platform, with four bubbles around the four anvils and a slight gap in the middle. He lowered it so it hovered just above the ground, wondering exactly what his stalwart ally had in mind. Most likely someone would be able to stand on the center of the platform, but it would likely require some balance skills.
"I hope you know what you're doing," Juka warmed, slightly apprehensive. He knew he could take care of his part of the plan, it was just a matter of whether or not Saph was overestimating his own abilities.
Juka, like a good team mate, was willing to try something new, and let it fail if it had to. This was the first step in the process of epic; it was the most crucial one.
Saph held off the bots long enough for Juka to form the platform, swinging his crowbar too and fro, and finally planting it deep into the head of a minibot, forcing it down onto it's knees and into a stable position. He grinned as he stated firmly. "Stay." to the broken thing, and left his crow bar in the little tyke, not wanting it to get in the way in the moments to come.
He then climbed up onto the impromptu platform as fast as he could, almost losing his balance immediately. He crouched low, and place his hand down as a third support to compensate, gripping the bubble with his hand...
Juka stated his favorite sentence to respond to. "I hope you know what you're doing". He turned to the young man with a wild smile on his face. "I don't.... FIRE AWAY!" He wiggled a little, and then regained his balance, and prepared for this to either work, or fail miserably.
The pink car came to the end of the street, and stopped, revving it's engine.
Juka came to the sudden conclusion that Saph must be crazy. Oh, he wasn't completely off his rocker, without the slightest idea what was real and what wasn't, more like foxy crazy. Fox-like crazy cunning or not, however, he was most certainly at least a little bit crazy. Crazy could be fun though.
Saph was rather impressive as he batted at mini bots while Juka arranged his anvils in a sort of platform for him to stand on. There were far less of them now than when they had begun, of course, but it was still a thing of beauty to watch them, one by one, fall to the masterful crow-bar wielding crazy fox masochist Saph. Not a single mini bot collided with Juka's head and that was most definitely a good sign.
When Saph climbed upon Juka's anvil platform, there was a moment when Juka was worried that the other man would fall off almost as quickly as he had first gotten on, but he managed to right himself and catch his balance before that happened. He did his best to hold the platform steady until given the command to launch his partner into the air.
"I don't.... FIRE AWAY!"
A moment before the command was given, Juka spotted the pink car complete with revving engine. A moment after, he launched, forcing Saph high into the sky and hoping for the best. Because in a situation like this, what else could he really do?
Without another word, he was flying. The older mutant couldn't help but close his eyes and spread his arms like wings as he momentarily ascended toward the the heavens... He opened his eyes as his flight reached it's apex, and he began to fall... He let out an excited yell as he plummeted towards his target, reaching out his right arm so that he didn't break himself on impact with the speeding car.
It was a lucky shot; that, or it was perfect aim... Actually, Saph would probably just call it perfect aim. The speeding car didn't swerve, or try to avoid him, merely seeing him as another target to hit. The robot driver even adjusted course a little to be sure it hit him... When he landed on the hood, he didn't make the loud bump that the robot's programming told it he would... no, he landed neatly, and planted down on the hood, looking up at the driver with a cocky smile on his face... He then reached up his left hand to place it firmly onto the glass... a measured release of force sent shards of the windshield right into the driver's face.
The car swerved to the right as the driver was torn up, and slammed right into a building, sending Saph off to the side to roll a few yards an then come to a stop... He slowly stood, wincing a little from a few good scrapes and bruises to be. Despite the pain, he hurried towards Juka.
"You gotta start hitting me! hurry!" He didn't know how they were gonna deal with the next robot, but he knew that he would need as much energy as he could gather. "The next one shoots a hail of rockets... it got me last time..."
