“Well we can start with Brazilian jiu-jitsu as it’s more modern and generally more applicable. Most mixed martial art fighters use it as the basis for their ground work. If you’re interested I can teach you some of the more unique aspects of the traditional style once you’ve gotten the basics down,” he offered.
“How does Friday from four sound to you?” he offered. It turned out that he’d been booked fairly solid this week. He’d either given or arranged private sessions for over half a dozen mutants since his return. Seemed like there were a lot of troubled mutants out there who wanted more neutral help than the X-Men or the Order.

They agreed and worked out the details of Kai’s return for leisurely purposes. Without further ado, Kai saluted Hunter and headed back to the shop. The drive back home was quiet and reflective. The silence that awaited him was less comforting, but somehow, he felt less alone.

Elli sorted out a slot for Kai and Hunter waved the boy off. It would be nice to just teach martial arts rather than deal with emotional problems. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to help people deal with their emotional problems but teaching martial arts was less stressful.
Heading back inside he went to the garden and took a moment to admire the work Kai had done. Hunter had helped a little but this was Kai’s project and he’d done most of the work. It was something the boy could be proud of, it was a beautiful garden.
