The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

(OOC: Bold is romanian)
Dragomir hobbled through the halls of the Sanctuary, his cane clacking on the floor with every other step. The Sanctuary had certainly been something entirely out of Drago's expectations of the mutant population in America, for in Romania they were little more than curiosities for a rural farmer like himself, where news was relayed by more word of mouth than anything else. His mind, however, was on something far removed from Romanian mutants and news spreads. Drago was thinking of his only daughter, his Maedeline.
Maedeline had seized upon the chance to make it out of Romania and into America when it was offered to her by the money Drago had carefully saved for over ten years, to let his children choose their own lives. He hadn't heard from her since, and now that he had the opportunity he wanted to find Maedeline. Eva would have wanted him to see that she was doing well, and he intended to do just that... Eventually.
The color of the floor changed as Drago walked through a doorway, and when he looked up the color bleached from his face. All Dragomir could see, in that entire room, was books. Bookshelves bigger than his house were filled to the brim with tomes of knowledge, and Drago couldn't help but be intimidated by the sheer volume of books. That, and the fact that he couldn't read Romanian, let alone English.
"My god, there must be thousands of them.." He muttered, turning slowly and taking a few steps into the room. As he did, his cane came down upon the foot of someone in front of him. "Ah! I'm so sorry, I didn't see you there..."

So many books! So much information at her fingertips, just waiting to be absorbed! So many stories, from the magical fantasy to the suspenseful mystery! So what?
Indeed, Kaitlyn was not here to read. Such a thing would only be used as a last resort in her perpetual war with the forces of boredom. For now, at least, there was still plenty of the Sanctuary left to explore. The girl was here for a librarian to pester.
It stood to reason that libraries usually contain librarians. Who else would keep the books organized? Who else would nag at people with overdue books? Who else would periodically break the silence of the library with a loud, disruptive 'SHHH?' It seemed that no such person existed to fill these roles in the Sanctuary.
Disappointed by the severe lack of interesting things in the library, Kaitlyn was already on her way out, plotting her course to her next Sanctuary excursion. I think I'll go to the garage, next. Maybe I can get somebody to fly me around in the helicopter. That would be-- "Oow..."
Some old guy just smashed her foot with his cane, apologizing a bit too loudly in his silly accent. Nobody was around to shush them. Somebody needed to some shushing, and fast, or... well, somebody needed to do it, anyway. Kaitlyn was both willing and able. "Keep it down! We're in a library!" she whispered urgently. Then, sticking out her had for a shake and an introduction, "I'm Kaitlyn."
...You've heard stories about me? Don't listen to them! It's safe to sit next to me, really!
Dragomir saw that his cane had landed on a little girl's foot, and was surprised for a second that there were even any children living at the sanctuary. From what he had seen of it's residents and their actions in Romania, a child would not be very comfortable with it. After he thought it through, though, Drago realized that this girl was probably a mutant, seeking refuge at the sanctuary. That, he could understand.
"Keep it down! We're in a library!"
Dragomir looked around, an amused expression on his face as he took in the completely empty room, and then turned back to the girl. "Of course, forgive me."
"I'm Kaitlyn."
Drago shook the hand that was offered, and then said "I am Dragomir. How do you do?"

Dragomir. What a name, and what an accent to say it with. "I'm doing okay," she answered, careful to keep her voice at a whisper.
For a moment, Kaitlyn entertained the idea that this "Dragomir" might be the librarian. He looked old enough, he was the only other person in the library, and there had to be a librarian somewhere... But this guy can't be a librarian. He needed to be reminded that you have to whisper in a library. Real librarians are the ones who do the reminding.
Kaitlyn decided that she would be the substitute librarian, until a real one showed up. She was already doing so well at playing the part, so why not? "Are you looking for a book?"
...You've heard stories about me? Don't listen to them! It's safe to sit next to me, really!
"Good, good." Drago said. It always seemed such a tragedy to him if children were sad, or angry. He knew that childhood innocence was all too fleeting, and any waste of it was horrible. He had seen to it that his own grandchildren had been as spoiled as he could, despite the protests of his son. "I'm their grandfather," he had once said, "It's part of the perks that I get to dote on them as much as I want. Now shoo!"
Apparently the kid wanted to play librarian today, for she asked Drago "Are you looking for a book?"
"No child. I actually can't read much more than a lick of Romanian, no English, I'm afraid. I am just... Exploring." Drago was going to say wandering, but that would have made him seem like some confused, senile old man who didn't know where he was. Whether that was true or not was still up for debate, but exploring sounded better.
Aura walked in for once her clothing contained no rips or blood stains. Aura looked around the lirbrary, she came useually to research things like how to make a bomb, which she understood the basics of now. She could not make anything big but that was another story. Pushing the wandering thoughts away. As she moved she brushed a large lock of her brown hair behind her shoulder and took notice of the two people in the room, a young girl and an old man, two she had never seen before, but that was common enough anyway, people entered and left sanctuary pretty often and in some cases it was a bit sad, she thought as she fondly recalled predator.
Aura moved on, her pink Aura flowing around her as she moved, not to show off, but Simply out of habit. The light see through pink Aura flowed from her eyes and expanding untill it wrapped around her head and traveled to her feet in moments. Then somthing the old man said cought her ear. "Exploring?" she asked looking back and approaching the two. "Hi, My Name is Aura, have either of you been here at sanctuary long?" she asked mostly from curiousness. New mutants always made her intrested as she enjoyed finding out about their powers and how they found their powers. Aura completely fogot her Aura was even up as she spoke to the two. The man wa solder then they normelly got in sanctuary but a mutant was a mutant and their were no humans at sanctuary anymore.

Kaitlyn furrowed her eyebrows for a moment. It was odd to think that somebody as old as Dragomir could have trouble reading, even if English wasn't his first language. Even stranger was the notion of going to the library to "explore." Not to look for a book, just to explore. Honestly, who does that?
... Well, that's what she was doing herself, now, wasn't it?
Her eyebrows returned to their natural, un-furrowed state. Library exploration is obviously a perfectly normal pasttime. Nothing strange there.
"Exploring?"
The girl turned to face the newcomer, who... seemed to be covered in see-through pink stuff.
"Hi, my name is Aura. have either of you been here at sanctuary long?"
"Not really." She had not even lived in the Sanctuary for a week yet; that was not a very long time. Dragomir had probably been around for a while longer. He was old. "I'm Kaitlyn. And you've got pink stuff all over you." Kaitlyn wondered what that pink stuff felt like. If it felt only half as weird as it looked, it would still feel pretty weird.

"Hi, My Name is Aura, have either of you been here at sanctuary long?"
Dragomir shook his head slowly as he took in the lovely young woman who had approached him and... oh what was her name? Kate, Kaity, Caterwail.... Oh never mind. In any case, it was obvious that the woman was a mutant, what with the glowing pink aura surrounding her. I suppose the name fits, Drago thought. "No, ma'm, I have only recently come here from Romania."
Drago sweeped his arm across his midsection and bent into an approximation of a bow, saying "My name is Dragomir, and I-GACK!!!" Dragomir broke off as a loud crack came from his spine as his back went out, and he tumbled to the floor. Despite the unlikeliness of the occurrence, Drago still managed to thwack himself on the forehead with his cane on the way down, and when he hit the floor Drago just lay there for a moment, staring at the ceiling.
After a few seconds, he managed to haul himself up by using his cane for heavy support. "Well, these old bones certainly ain't as spry as they used to be, that's one thing I'm sure of." Drago shook his head and brushed invisible dust off of his modest attire, and stroked his slightly unkempt beard. "What was I saying?" He asked, his previous train of thought knocked askew by his fall.
"Yes, that is why i am called Aura, my power lets me create a field of energy around me i can use to protect myself from harm" she said with a smile."I Have lived her almost 18 months, ever since i walked here from canada" she said recalling the long walk she had made, it had taken awhile, Aura was unsure just how long however and of the route she had taken, she had simply, gone south. Aura raised her hand and reshaped her Aura to form a drill whcih really spun, and thena hammer and finnaly a sword before letting ti flow like water back into her aura.
"Are you all right my friend?" she asked the rather elderly man, the oldest mutant she had ever seen in Sanctuary or anyware for that matter. Even Solkat who had been ageless or so it seemed had not been older then forty or so. She was going to help him but he got himself up, it gave her a sort of pride that a mutant could live to an age as to see a natural death, unlike many at the hands of humans. "You were telling us that your name was dragomir, kind elder" she said tryin g to recall the signs of respect she had learned at some point, but from where was still a mystery.

>>"Yes, that is why i am called Aura, my power lets me create a field of energy around me i can use to protect myself from harm"
Kaitlyn nodded to give the false impression that she understood what Aura was saying.
>>"...walked here from Canada."
That sounded like something worthy of consideration. Canada was a whole other country, after all. It must have been a long walk, and she must have seen some weird stuff on the way over. Like moose. Moose lived in Canada. But these details not nearly as interesting as Aura turning her pink stuff into other things. "How..." she started to ask in amazement, but she stopped herself. That was a silly question. She's a mutant. That's how.
>>"My name is Dragomir, and I-GACK!!!"
What just happened? she wondered, staring at the old man who had just fallen over. The girl could only watch as he helped himself up. And furrow her eyebrows when he revealed that he forgot about what he was saying. He probably has goldfish memory or something.
