The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Daria whistled, looking at the amount.
"I would suggest that you spend it all on me, but even after we bought everything I can think of, you'd still be a millionaire. So I say invest. By stock in peanuts and soy." Daria said sincerely. "The only time me and my dad ever really spoke it was about business. I would have told my grandparents I was slightly educated but..." she shrugged. "Yeah. Stock."
"Oh, I plan to... at least for part of it. The rest... I think that the mutant rights activists need a little monetary support to actually accomplish something for a change, don't you?"

Daria smiled sleepily grabbing the report and reading the fine print.
"Mike thats great. How nice of you!" she said kissing him. "I wonder if they need volunteers. I'd love yto help when I'm better." she had said 'better' absent mindedly.
"Well, I think we have the 'by force' method down pat... I think I'm going to take poly-sci or law at the university. I checked things out... NONE of the mutant lobyists are competent or effective. I think that needs to change."
He pondered for a minute. "Then again, I could speed the process up... show them what a mutant can do."

"Yeah, good idea. I'm going to follow Tricity's idea and sign up for the IT classes. I love computers, and I think I want to be the tech expert for the X -Men. I need a degree to teach it though, but with my background I should breeze through the courses."
Daria laughed nervously at Mike's last comment. "Is that a good thing?"
Mike shrugged. "It's not the traditional way, no, but what exactly is traditional about either of us?" he grinned. "What's more wrong, if you ask me, is pretending that you can't do something just for the dake of 'tradition.' I could learn everything for my degree in less time with my power... why shouldn't I do it?"

Daria thought. "Yeah. But I mean it gives you an unfari advantage over regular people. I mean on the one hand it would be nice to show them you can survive in an environment with other humans and still excel without aid, on the other hand you could prove that learning your way is just as effective and you can do just as good a job.
"I guess I'm split on the matter. A part of me is tempted to ask you to mess with my mind so I can take the teaching degree test right now, but the other half thinks I can do it almost as fast on my own."
"We'll see what happens. I just don't want to wait that long... hell, in four years, I might not even be around, I need to do what I can without wasting time."

"I don't like to think about you not being around, Mike." Daria said frowning at him in a chastising way. "You're not going anywhere anytime soon. At least not somewhere where I can't teleport you back." she laughed.
"Yeah we'll see."
She yawned. "You know. I have to be happy I can thank my mutation for being able to sleep at anypoint I want to. I can't always be guarenteed a good nights sleep but I can nap."
Mike hadn't realized exactly what he'd been saying until he'd already been called on it. The fact of the matter was, he wasn't really phased by the thought of dying. Part of him still thought that he deserved it, though it was only a small part. He held very little regard for his life... most of his reasons that he'd be afraid of dying revolved around not wanting to leave behind the few people he had that he loved.
And, keeping up with his little streak, he didn't realize he was thinking THAT until he remembered that Daria could pick up on a lot of his thoughts.
"And what part of your mutation is winning... the tired part or the hungry part?" he teased.

Daria was vaguely aware that Mike was rethinking his statement. She couldn't pick up on his exact thoughts because they weren't directed at her but she could tell he was rethinking it and that he didn't mean it the way it sounded. That was good enough for her.
"I can sleep-eat." she said simply hopping out of the bed. She wobbled for a minute-which was odd because Daria never wobbled..ever;she had perfect balance- but quickly caught her self and began to change.
