The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"I don't deserve you," he whispered leaning into her. One by one, the bodies began to disappear, the most distant ones first, ending finally with the ones close to them. As he looked up again, she saw that tears, not drops of blood, were now staining his face, and he looked around as if finally really seeing what was around them. "I'm so afraid that I'll do something to scare you away, or something to hurt someone," he continued, his voice getting a little less quiet as he continued. "More ghosts to add to my nightmares..."

Daria smiled.
"On the contrary, you most definitly deserve something good. And I am that something good. You do too much to protect me for me to ever be afraid of you, Mike." She said wipeing the bloody from his face.
"And if necessary, I'lll chase down everyone of your nightmares and make sure you have nothing but sweet dreams." she said kissing him gently on the lips.
"I'm a super hero, I can do anything," Mike muttered into the pillow, still trying to shut out the morning light. Still, she could see the edge of a smile where the side of his face was peeking out.
Mike winced slightly at her shouting, but it couldn't make the smile on his face get any smaller. "I love you too, baby," he said, opening his eyes a bit and putting his arms lazily around her.

"Of course you do, who wouldn't?" she joked. Her face grew serious for a moment. "You're okay after last night, right. I had no clue you could be in my dreams." she smiled slightly. "Iprefer to wear you out in other ways."
Mike sighed. "Yeah... I'm all right. It was kind of strange, I've never seen anyone's dreams like THAT before. Of course, before when I've picked up someone's dreams, they haven't been someone who's that close to me, physically and emotionally."
"And... ah, I'm usually not that deranged, even in my sleep..."

Daria rolled her eyes. "Suuuuuuure. Whatever you say. Personally, I know I'm the only thing keeping you from a bunch of people in white lab coats." she grinned and kissed his nose before climbing off of him.
"We should celebrate my birhtday with a beach trip." Then she thought. "wait, when is it that we're going wiht Tricity?"
He yawned, then sat up. "I don't know, there wasn't anything concrete set. But really... I suppose that the sooner we make sure that those green stones are just useless accessories the better... assuming that Tricity has an idea of how to do this."
He stretched, standing up. "Really, you'd think that it'd be simple. I can keep the people from seeing us, Tricity can keep the security systems from seeing us, and you could get us in, get us out, and maybe even get the stone. The best idea, in my oppinion, is to switch the stone with a fake... no one can accuse us of stealing if they don't know it's been stolen."

"Brilliant." she nodded. "It'll be my first mission as an X-man. Ultimate coolness" she smiled walking over and sniffing the flowers. "And i'd enjoy that more than the beach, I must admit."
"The beach won't go anywhere... hopefully we'll have time for both. Besides, there's a certain charm to beaches at night," Mike added, a playful light sparkling in his eyes.

Daria smiled and then stuck her tongue out at him.
"You do know that the beach was Kitty's idea...so she and Sarah are coming along." she said running into the shower.
She came out pulled on some clothesand headed to the door.
"I'm just gonna check on the girls while you get ready. We should do something slightly celebratory since I haven't had anyone with whom I wanted to share my birthday in a while.
"Absolutely. And don't go looking for your cake, the girls will scarf it before it's even an apropriate time for it if it's found," he teased.
Mike grinned, waiting until Daria was gone to check his planner. He'd made the dinner plans before the crisis with the red stone came up, so they might have to be scrapped, but...
Oh well, he'd think of something. He was good at it.
