The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Valentine felt very much at home in this mansion, it reminded her so much of her home. Of course, her mansion back in France had a far greater amout on artwork and intricate accents to the walls and potraits... but she adored her new place of residence.
Apparently, the boy too was feeling very much at ease with Valentine carrying him around as Tricity showed her the place. He himself listened to the Art teacher's sing song voice, non-purposefully dozing off as his sucked on his little right thumb. His head propped onto the Passeant girl's shoulder all feather-like as they entered her new room which was in a neat and plain state.
The walls of the room were slightly off-white in colour, possibly caused by the direct sunlight's effect after a year or two, but the furniture in this room was beautiful and had a vintage feel to it, just like how Valentine liked it.
She turned towards Tricity and shook her head with a smile. "No questions for now, Miss. But i might have a few after reading the book of rules and regulations." She continued to wear that smile. "I will be alright, i just have to unpack a few things, don't let me hold your schedule up." Valentine tapped her own watch after looking at it.
"You have to worry about lunch." She laughed, though no sound came out just as she noticed Josiah sleeping. "I will bring him down later for a bit of a late lunch. For now, this little tyke needs some rest." She broke into a whisper and walked Tricity to the door. "Thank you very much for showing me around, i really appreciate it. Is there anything else i should know?" Her eyes were bright while she muttered her last question.
well...you're older so i feel i can tell you this. sometimes, we have...trouble here at the school. humans and mutants alike trying to cause mayhem. we have a really good security system, so if by chance you forget your keys, don't go walking about on the lawns. just give me a ring on the cell and i'll open the door for you. we like to register guests if you have any, more security purposes. but, everything should be explained in the books. let me know if you need anything and when you get a chance, you can swing by my room slash office, and we'll do some paperwork. *tricity said, as she walked to the door of valentine's room, grabbing the doorknob.* it was great meeting you and welcome again! *she closed the door and jogged to the elevator to get downstairs for lunch.*

"I will certainly do so... Thank you again." With that, Tricity exited the room closing the door behind them with a thud. Thankfully little Josiah was still asleep in with his head still lying on Valentine's shoulder. She turned around slowly to face her new room.
A four poster bed laid in the centre of the relatively spacious room. Quite coicidentally the covers and curtain drapes of the bed were in Valentine's favourite colours. Emerald green with silver lining. while the pillows and bolster covers were sheer white.
Valentine strode gracefully and dropped her Chanel hand luggage just next to her bed by a chest of wooden drawers. Then, she placed Josiah on her bed and neatly tucked him under a comforter, planting a kiss on his forehead as she turned on the air condition. She placed her bagpack on a chair subsequently taking in the new environment.
A built-in wadrobe made out of seasoned hard wood was embedded stably into the wall, just diagonally from the chair and study table. There were windows on either side of the bed, covered by two layers of curtains. The first layer was thin and white in colour, which light could penetrate through easily, though not completely. The other layer was made out of a thick silky beige fabric with little details on it. This fabric was gathered at both sides with a silver rope.
A two and a half foot wide book shelf longed to be filled with reading materials stood near the door. There was no doubt that its thirst for books would be satisfied very soon, since its new mistress was very much a bookworm. Many of Valentine's relatives nicknamed her 'Belle'. The leading female character from Beauty and the Beast whom had both beauty and brains, not to mention an adventurous nature. That was the very embodement of this Passeant girl here...
The rooms colours came to play quite warmly. It would make a cozy room if more details were to be added and the girl already had a rough idea what to decorate her room with, being exposed to French interior designing. But any decorating or fancy artwork had to be done later that week, only after all her student and boarding procedures were settled.
Valentine Passeant started unpacking her clothes, folding them neatly and inserting them into the wooden drawers. There were some she put onto hangers and into the closet. After nearly everything was done, she took out her family photo album and then a porcelain photoframe with her family picture in it.
She placed it at the far right of her study table and stared at it for a good minute. Three figures stared back at her with smiles on their faces. A tall handsome man with light brown hair and dark green eyes, together with a perfect nose and slightly dimpled cheeks. Next to him was a woman whom looked to be somewhat mixed in features. The woman had big hazel eyes and smooth porcelain complexion that had a pink tinge to it. Her eyebrows were perfectly arched and there was no doubt she had poist as she sat there in an upright manner. The third figure had an ideal combination of both the woman and the man. That third figure was Valentine, when she was sweet sixteen.
A smile was visible on Valentine's face as she studied the picture, which turned into a rather meek frown. She hadn't seen mother and father for closed to six months... the last phone call or letter she had received from them was about half of that time-span and she missed them dearly. Valentine broke her gaze from the picture and placed another three photo frames on the chest of drawers.
After a while of tidying up, she stood up and went to her bed, lying down next to the little boy whom she had just met earlier. He laid there with his thumb in his mouth, his eyelashes giving a slight flutter as he took each breath. Valentine smiled warmly and closed her eyes knowing that with him being a child... he had not much to worry about and still had a high peak of innocence. With that, she herself dozed off into dreamland as the sands in the hourglass on the side table streamed down as a measurement of time ticking past...
*There was a lot of commotion in the hallway as the kids were running around to get to their rooms after Tricity had made an announcement this morning for roll call. She knocked three times on Valentine's door.* "Valentine? Are you there??"

Just as Valentine drifted halfway to dreamland, there were several knocks on the door and a familiar voice called out.
"Valentine? Are you there?"
The Passeant girl sat up swiftly yet made little movement on the bed as little Josiah continued to sleep. She strode towards the door and twisted the doorknob gently, allowing light from the hallway to seep through.
"Yes, i am." She said in a low whisper. "Is there a problem, Miss?"
*Tricity smiled at Valentine and checked off her attendance list next to her name.* "We're doing a roll call after what's been happening lately. I just want to make sure everyone is here and safe. Is everything alright? Are any of the other children in here with you?"

"Everything is alright." She smiled back at the lady. "Yeah, there is a little one with me." Her hand pushed the door a little wider for Josiah to come into view, sleeping soundly on the bed. A few kids scrambled down the hallway, diverting Valentine's attention towards them.
She shook her head and laughed, "Hyper bunch, aren't they? A little different from Josiah..." She looked back at the tiny frame lying on her bed as her smile turned sweeter with tiny dimples by its side.
*Tricity sighed and checked off the little boy's name.* "Yea...they don't really know the extent of the danger that might happen and I'm trying to keep everyone in high spirits. I might set a curfew which I'm sure they're going to love, but I can't risk mutants being out after dark too late. General Whitmore is becoming too dangerous and keeping tabs on everyone isn't the easiest job." *Tricity heard Josiah mumble and turn over on the bed.* "We're having breakfast in a few where I'm going to make an announcement about the curfew. You should come down."

"I will..." Her hazel eyes with specks of olives shifted back to the woman. "Together with Josiah. Is it okay if i meet you downstairs in ten minutes time?" She enquired politely.
"Yea no problem. We probably won't start for another 20 minutes anyway since it will be a hassle to get everyone quiet at the same time." *Tricity answered, laughing.* "I'll see you downstairs...gotta finish this roll call."

Given a final nod, Valentine shut the door behind slowly. Then headed towards Josiah to wake him up, "Josiah... Josiah, dear." She tapped him lightly on the hand. He was still deep in dreamland. Smiling, Valentine placed her hands on his temples and a slightly warm emerald glow covered her hands.
A few seconds later, Josiah opened his big eyes and smiled at the young lady before him. "Hello..." Valentine smiled back at him and kissed him on the forehead. "Hello..." He replied. "I had a dream... A good dream." He blinked with innocence as he rubbed his eyes and smiled to reveal a tooth missing.
Valentine acted a little surprise. "Really? Why don't you tell me about it on the way to lunch?" She sat him up and carried him off the bed as he wrapped her arms around her neck and leaned against her. "Okay..." He clinged onto her as she made the bed and exited the room together with the child in her arms.
