The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Emi woke up with a lurch, eyes squinted from the rays of the afternoon sun she looked like she had awoken from a nightmare. 'The dreams... they're so vivid...' She thought as she ran a hand through her long inky black locks, pushing the strands away from her lips. Looking at her window she was nearly blinded again by the harsh sunlight as she realized the sun was out more often.... 'Spring's almost here.' She sighed at the thought of all the insects that came out at this time.. She loved the weather as it was something not native to Mother Russia, though the heat was a bit hard to get used to- she couldn't stand the myriad of insects that came with the spring season...
Rubbing her eyes she looked at her clock on the opposite side of her window as it shown in red light '12:35 PM'. Absently she yawned and stretched as she pushed any thoughts of her bad dream aside before getting out of her bed and heading to the bathroom. While in the midst of brushing her teeth realization dawned on her now slightly widened pale violet eyes.
Today was her first training session.
Mentally groaning, she felt the sudden urge to move even slower... This was something she wasn't something she looked towards to- however it was quite noticeable that she needed the help. Her abilities had a life of their own- so to speak. She couldn't do much with herself if her powers came out when she was feeling a random strong emotion. It was dangerous not to mention embarrassing. Besides that Emi had thoughts for the past few months of joining the X-Men, and if she was to do that- she need to have a firm control on her powers and be helpful. Mentally sighing once more she rinsed out her mouth and wiped her self with a towel. Well- first things first- get ready.
About twenty minutes later, Emi could be seen walking passed empty rooms and down hallways in her slightly lighter clothing. Today she wore some of her old clothing she bought back in Germany, a army green cameo shirt that fit snugly on her thin upper body, the words 'Duchess' was printed in a trashy styled font in bold black. Her lower body was covered with tan fitting jeans which hugged her hips nicely, a belt was looped around it and fastened tightly. Her shoes were old sneakers she wore on occasion, the colors white and black with some scuff marks on them. Lastly her hair was tucked back behind her in a low pony tail, something she threw together in a few minutes.
Really the lavender eyed girl didn't care how she looked but she had gotten compliments of being 'pretty' or even 'sexy' though this only confused the eighteen year old... Why was she any of those things to them? She was just a plain looking, freaky girl... Looking at the ground she slowed down in her steps as she stopped for a moment looking like a depressed little child... 'No. I-I can't think like that!' Raising her head with a little more confidence, she finally made it to the Danger Room door. She gulped slightly intimidated of what she would be doing... She could hurt someone! She didn't like to harm people...
Shaking her head she entered the large room as the metallic doors slid open revealing the expanse of the high tech room. Breathless once more she stared at the technological wonder that was the Danger Room, almost forgetting why she was there. Blinking in thought she wondered who would be helping her on her first training session? 'Hopefully he or she is nice...' She thought worriedly as she walked into the center of the room- and waited.

Streak’s phone went off. He’d set it to remind him that he had an appointment in the Danger Room with a new resident. He hadn’t met her yet but there wasn't a much better way to meet someone than at a training session. The tired mutant pulled himself out of bed or actually his emergency bed as he called it, and started getting ready. Thankfully, Streak had left a spare of just about everything he needed in this room. Ok, ok, technically it was his office, but he and Sam made this part for when they needed a place to get away for a bit. Just before he headed down there he pulled the file that they had on her. Like most files they had it wasn’t complete; however, it was enough to give him the general idea of what she could do. Streak was still reading the file as he headed down to the Danger Room.
The silver manipulator now walked down the hallway that led to the Danger Room. As he did he heard the doors open and close. That must be her. he thought as he looked to see who it was. Unfortunately she was already on the other side of the door and he didn’t see what she looked like. There was no picture to go along with file that he was looking at but it wasn’t long before he walked into the room behind her. Streak saw a girl pretty close to his age standing in the center of the Danger Room and said, “You must be Emi, right? I’m Streak.” he closed the file and held out his hand to shake hers. Hopefully she wasn’t paranoid or frightened by people.

[Sorry for the wait- also quick question: What times are you on MRO in EST? I never seem to catch you online... And it would be good to know too ^^;]
Twiddling her thumbs the young mutant waited for any sign of her "instructor" to appear. Before she knew it the hissing of the mettalic doors opened telling her that someone entered the Danger Room. Turning over to the source of sound, she stared as a guy appeared holding a file. 'That's him...?' She thought suddenly feeling nervous. Of all things... it had to be a guy! Reigning in her nerves she gave a weak smile as "Streak" introduced himself. Hesitant, she took her hand out to meet his as she mad a weak shake before dropping her hand to her side, rubbing the back of her neck it was obvious she was shy. "H-Hello. Streak Sir. I-I'm Emi Garland." She spoke with a slight stutter unsure of how to react to these kind of social interactions...

(ooc: I'm on MRO CST but most of the time I post while I'm at work so I can't really chat)
Streak had been in these situations before. In fact he remembered his first time that he met someone to help him train. It didn’t go to well actually but hopefully this would go much better than his first time. They shook hands briefly and Streak smiled at her. He wanted to make her feel more at ease since it was obvious that she was nervous and a little shy at the moment. “So what is it that you wanted to work on? Anything specific or did you just want to generally work on stuff?” Streak asked Emi. The silver mutant wasn’t exactly sure if she knew what she wanted to do here; however, he did remember seeing something about her powers in her file that he was still holding. Shawn waited for an answer from her. Maybe talking about her powers would make her feel less intimidated by him and more open to discussions.

(I'm REALLY sorry for the wait... Life and my other rps have been getting in the way and I've been stressed like crazy...)
The Russian mutant shuffled her feet for a moment as she avoid eye contact with the man known as "Streak". "Well... I'm hoping to just control my powers, if only a little bit more." She finally found herself finding less things to look at as she sighed and looked up at Silver Streak with lilac eyes filled with worry. "My powers.. They're connected to my emotions... When I lose control of my emotions, then I lose control of them." She spoke 'them' as though she meant her powers were physical beings.
Though if Silver Streak knew that or not Emil wasn't sure, but she partially hoped he did know. So that she had less to worry about- or maybe more to worry about...? Either way Emil would be worried as heck. Looking at the floor again she looked like a girl who had serious communication problems as she spoke up again after the terse silence. "W-What do you think I need to work on Mr Streak?" Maybe her self confidence would be a good start...

"Well... I'm hoping to just control my powers, if only a little bit more." "My powers.. They're connected to my emotions... When I lose control of my emotions, then I lose control of them."
Streak nodded his head in acknowledgement. What she was saying was understandable. “We can do that. You’re not the only one that has trouble with their powers when they’re emotional. There’s some other kids that have the same problem.” Streak said, trying to make her more comfortable. She seemed to have a serious problem with doubting herself. Streak figured that was probably the best to work on for right now. Shawn had a feeling that if she doubted herself less then she might have better control over her powers.
“Ok, let’s just work on a few fun simulations first. Maybe get you a little warmed up and enjoying using your powers.” Shawn finally said after a slight pause. It might take a little doing but he thought that it would definitely be possible for her to have fun using her powers. “What do you like doing? This room can make anything possible.” Streak said. The comment he made sounded a little like something Willie Wonka would say when he was giving the kids a tour of the Chocolate Factory. But it was true and hopefully Emil would enjoy herself.

Emil blinked at his statement, what did she like to do? Well there quite a few, however most were boring and something you would find your Grandmother doing in her spare time... Among them were baking, collecting trinkets, and reading. What could she possibly do that was actually fun? Ah! Maybe that? "Um... Well- I do like to have snowball fights... It was fun to do back Russia..." A blush covered her face as she felt embarrassed at her answer. "S-Sorry I don't have much experience in 'fun' things..."

This girl must not have had much of a fun life is she was having trouble thing of fun things that she liked to do. Streak started thinking… then something occurred to him, Well, you need people for a snow ball fight. Or you at least need some fake people to play along with you. Streak then piped up and said out loud. “We can do that. Computer…start the snow day simulation, with kids.” The Danger Room made a beeping noise to signal that it was getting the simulation underway. Soon after the beep the room started to fill up with snow and kids getting ready to have a snow ball fight. There were kids on both sides. Some were on Emil’s side and others were on the opposite side. Streak was also on her side and he was thinking that it’d be fun to just fool around for a while instead of actually training. Although with this girl having fun could sometimes lead to training. “Start.” Streak said to the computer and everything came to life. Kids started throwing snow balls, shouting and laughter ensued.

"R-Really?" The Russian mutant looked quite surprised at Streak's statement as she watched with pearl lavender eyes questioningly. Though her surprise turned to shock after Streak spoke to the computer which activated some kind of simulation of sorts. Before Emil noticed it snow was falling down from the 'sky' as she then noticed there was a gray 'sky', laughter of children was heard as Emi turned quickly to see children playing in the snow throwing snowballs at each other!
Were they... real? Putting a hand on one of the children's shoulder, a young brown haired boy with a red and black striped sweater on, Emi gasped and took a half of step back as she noticed her hand went right through him!
The shadowmancer soon calmed down as she realized this was some type of highly advanced game! But- it looked so real... She could feel the snow but it wasn't exactly cold, but she knew it wasn't technically fake- like the children. A small smile came on her pale lips as she keeled down and form a small packet of snow into a ball, Emil's smile broaden as she flung the snowball at Silver streak seeing if he would react. Before she realized it, The silver using Mutant already activated the simulation as the children too began throwing snow at each other!
Turning away from Streak, Emil smiled a little more as she giggled and got another snowball and threw it at a young black haired pigtailed girl right across from herself. Emil than spoke up over the laughter feeling like she was the most fun she ever had! "Come on Streak Sir! Join in!"

Streak watched the wide eyed girl become amazed as the Danger Room went from a boring non descript metallic room to a large area for snow ball war zone in a matter of seconds. She apparently didn’t understand the huge varieties that this one room could come up with and he hoped that this would help bring her out of her shell a little bit. Shawn saw the snow ball coming and simply turned to the side to avoid taking the hit. Fortunately for him he didn’t have to worry about getting hit with another one because she then realized that the entire simulation was starting the fight.
The young man didn’t need to be asked twice. He was going to join in and have some fun. It wasn’t often that he got to have fun in this room or any of the other rooms around. With that he bent down and started gathering up snow and throwing the snow balls at people on the other side.

[I'm SO sorry x.x My Emi muse has been bleh and I have so many sites and gah... >.<]
Emi smiled though still shyly as she threw another snowball at the holographic children. memories of her childhood flooded her head as she first felt joy, then a stinging shock of misery as she began to remember when she was found out to be a mutant.... '-tay away she's weird!' Emi closed her eyes trying to hold back the negativity but could not. '-ey freak! Are you afraid of some little ghost-' Pinpricks of tears etched in the corner of her eyes as she felt like she was reliving these days she found out she wasn't "normal", Emil barely noticed the snowball fall out of her hand as she had tears well up in her eyes and then the hot searing pain of anger as she felt her shadow start to bubble to life!
"I-I'm not..." She whispered anger flooding her veins, this was supposed to be a fun experience yet her doubts kept on piling up... "I-I'm not..." The shadow mass started to take shape easily towering over Emi and the holographic children, red tones formed on it's 'body' as horns jut out from its skull and four red eyes formed int he blackness where it's head would be. Emi clutched her head as she crumpled down in pain as her shadow let out a deafening roar for all to hear. "Make it stop, make it stop, make it stop-" She felt her emotions going haywire as the snow only reminded her of back home...
Lonely, scared, afraid, anger, anger, ANGRY! She screamed loudly as Agro let out another roar and began to savagely attack the Danger room, hoping to quell it's master's rage- it's own rage, for that was what it was.. Agro- anger... The only way it would stop now was if someone was to snap Emil out of her pain induced prattle or- knock her out, either way, the Danger Room looked like it would need some remodeling...

Something was wrong. Seriously wrong. He didn’t expect this to happen. Why was she getting so mad at what was going on? This was supposed to be fun. Some giant shadow seemed to be forming out of nothing. Whatever it was seemed to be reacting off her emotions and what she was feeling. “Pause simulation.” Everything stopped… well everything except her shadow monster. The only way to really save the Danger Room from actual destruction would be to leave the simulation on and let it destroy the simulation instead of the actual room itself.
Streak watched as the monster went on a rampage throughout the simulation. Shawn ran over to Emil and said “Emil! Chill! Calm down. Listen to me. Calm down.” The silvermancer wasn’t exactly sure what he should do in this situation. He never seemed to have very much luck with getting people like her to calm down. A lot of times it was too late to get them to stop and he would just have to wait out what seemed like a tantrum, and let her just burn herself out and destroy whatever was left of the simulation.

It... It hurt. This feeling... Yet there was little she could do, her emotions had gone haywire as the young mutant stared out in space blankly. Watching as her shadowy creation wreaked havoc on the simulation room. Apart of her was telling it to stop, but the beast would not heed her- it was only fulfilling it's desire- her desire- that's why it couldn't stop... Agro smashed a massive fist into the holograms only to hit the steel floor denting it, in anguish it kept on smashing the same spot over and over hoping to rid Emil of her torment.
It was in vain, something that couldn't be destroyed by normal means wouldn't simply disappear... Then- everything stopped. The children frozen in mid throw, smiles etched on there faces as the snow even stopped falling. 'What-' Emil felt tears streak down her face as she realized she was being called to. Eyes once blank filled with light as she came back to reality. "S-Stop... that's enough.." She whispered as he minotaur gave one final roar before dissolving into a mass of shapeless goo. The 'goo' slipped across the damaged floor and merged back with the distraught girl reforming her shadow as it's eyes glowed briefly before that too disappeared and the only think left was Emil's solid shadow...
Finally finding her strength leave her briefly the girl felt her legs collapse underneath herself as she sat sideways on her knees looking defeated. "I just want to curl up in a hole..." She muttered as she tried wiping away her tears only for more to form. "I-I can't do this... I- I can't control my emotions, and-" She choked back a sob. Her silence was all that was needed. She couldn't control her emotions and the result was someone getting hurt... or worse. "Maybe I should just give up...?" She looked at Streak with tears in her eyes as she wiped away the last few stray ones, before smiling bitterly suddenly depressed.
"I'm sorry for the mess I created- if you don't want me back her at the mansion I understand... No one likes a 'freak' who has emotional issues..." Her voice sounded sad but also bitter and slightly dark as though rehearsing something she had heard in the past... It seemed no matter what she was- human, monster, or mutant- she would never be accepted by anyone. Destined to walk the earth alone and scared until she died... Slowly she tired picking herself up finding the strength return slightly in her legs before she she stood on wobbly legs.
"Thanks Streak for at least trying to deal with me..." She smiled again trying to sound cheerful but that was a downright lie. 'What will I do now? Where will I go from here?' For now she decided to wait to wait and hear his outburst and calling her names telling her to leave this place and never return... Part of her was resigned to it, yet part of her... 'I won't ever find a place that will accept me- will I?'

Finally the thing that she’d created stopped smashing the Danger Room up. It was apparent that she wasn’t exactly controlling whatever she’d created. It was more like it was controlling her. Streak saw the problem immediately. Her powers were stronger than her and that’s why she was having so much trouble. He watched it roar and dissolve before going back to her actual shadow. “If you give up now you’ll lose. You have to keep trying. Maybe we started off with an emotion that was a little too powerful for you. Happiness is definitely a very powerful emotion just like all the others. Maybe we just need to find something that will give you joy instead of fun or happiness.” He wasn’t really sure if he was making much sense or if she really understood the difference between happiness, fun and joy. Either way he didn’t want to let her just give up and not try to get better at her abilities.
There were plenty of solutions that came to mind when he figured out her problem. But the biggest one was discipline. All she needed to do was work on disciplining her emotions and she should be able to control her powers much better. “You don’t need to leave. Don’t be silly. If this place turned away everyone that thought themselves dangerous and didn’t try to help them then this place would be practically empty.” Streak said to her. he was trying to make her feel a little better about her powers. Another reason was because he didn’t want her to leave because leaving meant that she was not only a danger to herself but she was a danger to humans and would probably end up getting into lots of trouble. However, if she stayed at the mansion then she would be able to train in a safe and innovative way to give her the control on her powers instead of the other way around. “We can always try this again. But not today… maybe sometime later in the week? What do you say? I’d like to give you some time to relax and recover from what happened today.” The worst thing she could do now would be to give up and not try to hide her powers from even herself because that would only make things worse.

Emil sighed, that sounded- nice. She was mentally and emotional exhausted and the young mutant doubted she had the strength to keep this up anymore this day.. Her powers really took a toll on her after all. "T-That would be nice Mr Streak..." She felt woozy for a moment before shaking her head, it was probably the fatigue... Blinking she prepared herself to go back to her room, knowing she had nowhere to go today anyways...
"Um... how about this weekend?" She questioned unsure if he was busy or not. She blushed furiously before stuttering. "I-I mean if your not busy or a-anything!" She corrected herself before looking at the silvermancer with worried yet curious eyes.
