The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Nyle watched Nicki. She was obviously nervous about something. 'I suppose it could be her confusion..though it seems different.' Wyn thought. Calm, safe, trust: Wyn subconsously projected into Nicki's head as he spoke. "I'm sorry to hear that. Though it seems like a very useful ability." Wyn smiled at her. "Are you safe if you don't touch the computer?" He asked honestly currious. "All of my files are locked down unless I bring them forward. You won't overload if you did touch me I'm sure. Though, if you're worried, I could pull the info up and you could read it." Ash smiled as she spoke.

Nicki folded her arms defensively. "It can be pretty handy sometimes...actually a lot of the time. Just...when I get overloaded it can be really dangerous and I just..." Nicki sighed and let her arms drop lightly. "It's just not so fun when I overload"
"Oh, and uh, thanks but I don't really have anything I need information on Ashling. My conflicts are more...internal I guess" Nicki shrugged.

Ash seemed to pout a bit when Nicki declined her offer, though she regained a calm face quickly. "Alright hun. But if you ever need me, you know where I am." Looking to Wyn, "I'll start data gathering if you don't mind." She didn't wait for his responce before she turned in her virtual world to look at a 'monitor'. On the actual screen, pages seemed to speed by, stock markets, sports, the environment, science, cars, and other information sped accross the screen, being absorbed by Ash.
Wyn eyed the computer currious and laughed, then looked at Nicki. "Internal, never fun." Eldwyn thought back to earlier in their conversation, thinking that is what Nicki was talking about. "Though its true what Kaz said, Human-Mutant relations are going uphill. If you want the other side; there are mutants in the government now, not secretly but openly. Mutant supporters are springing up all over the country, as well as the world."

"You know, as much as it sounds like this is about Kaz, it's really not" Nicki shook her head, scoffing slightly. "It's about me. It's about my life. I have been told things that were lies since I was five. I was told that mutants were all evil and robbed banks and killed people. I was told that if I ever left the comfort of my small little town that I would shrivel up and die. I was told things that were characteristically wrong with me. I've been told lies my entire life and now I'm seeing things that I've always thought to be untrue and I don't know how to deal with them. I'm seeing both sides of a problem and suddenly I don't know how to deal with it. Maybe I relate to what Kaz is saying so much because I have that anger in me towards people like my dad or my brother. Maybe I need to define which side is good or bad because I need to know whether or not I'm good or bad."
Nicki stood up from her chair, starting to pace. "My entire life has changed in a manner of a year. My entire perception of who I am has changed and my entire perception of the world. My world used to be the size of the head of a pin. I was 15, dating some guy that I would end up marrying in three years, and I would stay in that town and be barefoot and pregnant my entire life. I would never go to college, I would never learn more than what I had in high school and I would never see the world for what it really is. And all of that is gone. Now I'm confronted with everything. I see that my dad's a biggot. I see that humans are doing things that I thought were no longer conceiveable in a civilized culture. Everything about my entire world is different and I can't even figure out how I fit into it. And I feel like the only person who is telling me the truth is Kaz. And if the X-Men are 'good' and he opposed the X-Men does that make him bad? If I agree with him does that make me bad? I know it's not all that cut and dry but the fact of the matter is I'm not used to be it not being so cut and dry." By now Nicki's voice had raised, not at Wyn really, just at the situation. She caught herself, sighing again and moving towards the chair. She would feel bad about all of this later, she knew she would, but for right now it felt good to get it all out.
"So tell me Wyn, can you answer that question for me? Can you solve that inner conflict?" she asked as she sat down in the chair opposite Wyn.

Eldwyn was taken back by Nicki's words. The pure emotion behind them. She was spilling her inner self out before him. He could do nothing but listen to the young girl. Innocent and no longer ignorant. He made sure he payed attention to every word, syllable, emotion in the girl's voice, committing it to memory. She had indeed been shown the world in a very short amount of time, Nyle could not blame her at all for being confused and torn. Nicki's voice raised in volume, though Wyn took no offense to it.
Wyn sighed at Nicki's questions. "I wish I could say yes my dear. But alas, I cannot." He stood up, almost as if he was about to leave, but walked over to the window instead, looking out over the courtyard, hands clasped together behind his back. "Black and White." Chuckling softly, as he looked out the window. "If only it were really that easy." Turning his head to look at Nicki. "I know you'd like an easy answer, one to answer your problems, one to make the world black and white. But I can't. Is the beggar who steals bread to feed his family good or bad? In the eyes of the law, he's bad, evil, a plague apon society, that will only end to bring everyone down with him. Does his family think the same, or do they think him a great man, doing good, providing for his family the best he can?" Looking back out the window. "There is a truth in the world. Those who win create the history, say who was right and who was wrong. And the populace will believe the winner, because they want to believe they were right. What people don't understand is there are multiple rights, multiple good in the world. Each may have a different outlook than another, a different way of going about things. But it is not the actions of those people that one should look at, it is what motivates those actions. What drives those people. Are the motivations for the betterment of themselves or a group of people? If the intentions, hopes, and motivations pure, would you be able to label them 'evil' for the acts they commit in their pursuit of their goals?" Pausing to take a breath. "Nicki. Truth be told, only you can fix your inner conflict. Though you need to remember, the world is not black and white, it has gray as well, and not just one, but many shades. There are many goods, many evils. There is only one thing you should listen to," Nyle walked over and knelt in front of Nicki. Placing his hand over her heart. "This, is what you should listen to."

Nicki sighed. She knew all of this. That was part of the problem. She knew that the world wasn't black and white, wasn't something as easily defineable as all of that. But, at the same time, she had a hard time dealing with the fact that she didn't know whether she was good or bad, even in her own head. She was sure that everyone had a definition of themselves, that even people who were crazy and evil thought themselves as good and doing things for the good of the world. Nicki was angry that she didn't even have the self-identity that most crazy people had. She just wanted something to identify herself with. Something to plug her in to her own world.
"I know Wyn. And it really means a lot to me that you listened to all of this...and I know that you really can't fix it and I'm not even sure I want you to. I just...I don't know. I just want something to not change. I always thought of myself as a good person and I would like to hold on to that thought and suddenly I can't even find the line where ash gray turns to heather" Nicki chuckled, looking down. "I guess I just want one thing to be an easy answer you know? I'll deal with so much hard if I can just get one easy..." Nicki chuckled.

".....I can't even find the line where ash gray turns to heather" He had never heard that saying before, but he understood the meaning. Wyn smiled lightly at Nicki. "I can give you one answer." He looked into her eyes and smiled widely. "You ARE a good person. If you weren't, you wouldn't be questioning yourself like you are." Standing up he sat down in his chair. "If you ever have something you need to just let go, my ears are always open."

Nicki smiled up at the man. She was still a little weirded out by him (people being nice to total strangers for no reason was still a little foreign to her) but he was indeed a good man.
"I really appreciate that Wyn. Really, I do" Nicki smiled again, feeling a little better. Sure, nothing had been resolved, but at least all of that was out in the open now.

Eldwyn looked out the window. Realizing how nice it really was outside he looked at Nicki. "You afraid of heights?" Ashling lifted her head to regard Wyn and his question. Smirking, Ash becan the sleep mode. Wyn shut the laptop when it fully went to sleep and put it into the bag. "Have you flown before?"

Nicki chuckled, looking out the window and then over to Wyn. "Um, no never flew. And um...no offense, but I'd kinda like to keep it that way" Nicki chuckled, laughing genuinely for the first time in days. "S'not that I'm afraid of heights or anything...I just would be terrified of actually flying above them...like sans a plane."

Wyn laughed at Nicki's responce. "You sure?" He lifted Nicki and her chair into the air a bit, without moving his body at all. "I can assure you, it's quite safe." With that he made the chair and Nicki jostle a bit, and down six inches. Wyn's smile was of pure jest and michevious intent, yet still kind and gental. He set Nicki and her chair back onto the solid floor of the classroom as he rose himself into a reclining position in the air in front of her. "If you've never slept like this, you've missed out on the best sleep of your life." Chuckling as he spoke.

Nicki yelped a little a her chair lifted off the ground, amazed at what Wyn was doing (as well as equally terrified). Nicki chuckld as Wyn set her back on the ground and lifted himself.
"Wow, that's really amazing actually" Nicki laughed again, still gripping the sides of the chair. "Guess I can tell what your powers are huh?"

Laughing, "Pretty much." Looking at Nicki, "You're much cuter when you smile." With that thought he mentally reached into her mind and made the girl smile wider. Next he had her raise her arm up and flick him off. Scoffing in a mock hurt way. "Ow, that hurts." He completely released control of Nicki's body. He moved farther away from the girl, in case she attacked him for his antics.

Nicki was having less fun with this part. While she was slightly charmed by the fact that he called her cute, she was really unhappy with the feeling of not being able to control her own body. With everything being so out of control mentally, to lost control over herself in the physical realm was really troublesome.
"I bet that comes in handy a bunch" Nicki tried to sound casual as she crossed her arms and squared her jaw. "So when you asked if I wanted to fly you were being polite. You can make people do anything you want them to?"
