The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Nicki ducked into an open classroom and closed the door. She was so tired. She hadn't gotten much sleep since Kaz told her everything and she was starting to lose focus pretty regularly. She sat down on the floor, looking down at the floor, and leaning back.
She hadn't told anyone about the Kaz situation and it was getting harder. She knew Nika knew she was keeping something from her and Nicki was starting to feel guilty about keeping someone from the people who had taken her in. Should she ask someone about a counter group to the X-Men? Would they even know? Should she talk to Tricity about the X-Men? Did she even have the right to?
Nicki let out a frustrated sigh and started picking at the carpet.

Eldwyn was walking down the hallway when he happened to see a girl sitting on the floor. Backstepping he peered in. With a raised eyebrow, he opened the door slightly. "You know a chair might be a bit more cofortable." His tone was light and friendly as he motioned with his hand. A chair moved accross the floor to sit next to the girl, as a second one moved to a stop a respectable distance from her. "Mind if I sit?" Eldwyn was carrying his laptop in a computer bag on his shoulder.

Nicki looked up at the door, seeing a guy she had never met step into the room. He had an air of someone friendly, someone who was willing to put himself out for someone else. But then again, he was talking to a complete stranger because they looked depressed. Nicki smiled a small smirk and moved to the chair.
"Please" Nicki extended her hand towards the chair, inviting him to sit with her.

Wyn's smile was pure and true as the girl gave him the go ahead to sit down. Stepping in past the door he headed to his chair, while mentally closing the door. His bag lifted from his shoulder and set down gently on the table next to the chair. As he sat down he took the girl's extended hand. "Eldwyn Nyle Bebeodan. Please call me Wyn, or Nyle. What might your name be?"

Nicki shook his hand and chuckled lightly as he introduced himself as Eldwyn. Nicki let her hand fall slack, sighing as she shook her head.
"Of course you are. Name's Nicki Thomas. And, just cause I feel like I should air this, you're best friend and I are dating. " Nicki shook her head, laughing. God had the best sense of humor ever.

Eldwyn looked at the girl, obviously confused. Until she mentioned his 'best friend'. Wyn joined the girl in a laugh. "I don't if I should say congrats, or I'm sorry."
"Kaz and Nyle are NOT best friends." A female voice spoke. Though no one else was in the room. "Aren't you suppose to be asleep Ash?" Wyn's voice was playful as he pulled the computer out and lifted up the screen. Looking at Nicki. "Sorry about that. Nicki, this is Ashling, Ashling, Nicki. Though I'm sure you already know that." Wyn chuckled softly.
"You have me at a loss. You seem to know me, or at least about me." Wyn's smile was friendly and playful. "I sincerly hope Kaz isn't the reason you look so glum." Wyn looked at her with slight concern.

Nicki's face melted into pure confusion as a female voice spoke up. "Um...hi Ashling. It's..uh...nice to meet you?" Nicki asked, confused on the etiquette when meeting a laptop.
"Kaz speaks very highly of you. He mentioned you when he moved in here and we started talking about family and friends and stuff and he...like I said, he speaks very well of you" Nicki smiled.
"As for whether he's got me so glum...well, it's not really him. It's just...I'm kinda confused on a bunch of stuff right now, and yeah, he has something to do with it but it's not really him you know? He was just who showed me maybe I was being short sided....maybe I was closing my eyes and trying not to see something..." Nicki shrugged. "Or maybe I just want to believe in what he's saying. I don't know. It's complicated." Nicki sighed.

"It's nice to meet you too Nicki. Class rooms are double edged, they let you think, if you get what I mean." Ash said, almost with a chuckle.
Wyn laughed at the computer. Though he was taken back a bit when Nicki spoke about Kaz. Without thinking about it, Wyn began putting suggestions into Nicki's mind: Relax, Safe.
Nyle nodded slightly as he listened to Nicki. "He can deffinantly open peoples' eyes to the other side of things. Wish I could take the credit for that," Laughing slightly. "But, he's always been like that." Leaning over a bit, he took Nicki's hand. "Tell me about it." At the same time the suggestion was planted in Nicki's head that she would feel comfortable talking to and telling Eldwyn what had gone on.

Nicki chuckled a little again. She kinda liked the laptop. Ashling made the impression of being smart and straight forward: two things Nicki deeply appreciated.
Nicki wondered for a moment if Wyn got this involved with everyone who had a problem, but she needed to talk to someone and Wyn seemed more than willing to listen.
"He was telling me about how he sees things, how his friends see things. How maybe humans and mutants can't live together you know? I mean...I heard some really awful stories...stories about what idiots did to poor little kids..." Nicki sighed, looking down a little. "I mean, I'm not saying that all humans should be killed or whatever...I just..." Nicki sighed and looked up to Wyn. "Maybe we can't all live together you know? I mean...maybe it's like Nazis and Jews you know?" Nicki sighed, thinking of her father and her brother, her own family, and how she knew they would turn her away if she confessed to them she was a mutant. "Trying to figure out where you stand on something so important when you have had your powers for such a short amount of time and they're all out of whack and you're in a big city with no one you know is all kind of a lot I guess" Nicki shrugged.

"Humans are ignorant, and scared." Ash spoke before Wyn had a chance to, which he shrugged at. "Everything takes time dear. Mutants have only really come into the mainstream recently. The still don't know how to deal with us. For now, it's probably true. The majority of humans and mutants can't live together. Arrogence, ignorance, and mostly fear, is what seperates us. Humans fear us for what we can do and for showing them their weaknesses, and we fear them for what they could do to us."
He smiled to the girl. "Though there are those rare humans, who are fine with us." He looked pointedly at Nicki with a smirk, as if he knew about Nicki's mother. "Who accept and care about us. They give us hope. Hope for a better world." Leaning back, he put his feet up on a footstool, that didn't exist except in his mind. "What the Nazis did to the Jews was unforgivable, then and would be now." His voice trailed off slightly. "You seem to care about Kaz a lot, which honestly, I'm surprised about. If you're worried Kaz will exterminate all humans, or let anyone do that," Smiling a knowing smirk at the girl, "Let me assure you Kaz will not let that happen."
"In my experience, when I've been faced with a decision like what you're talking about. I get as much information about both sides as possible, then think about it, while playing my violin." As if on cue, Ash's screen lit up completely, showing a virtual library on it's screen. As the screen widened, a receptionist's desk appeared. Behind it stood a stunningly beautiful aubern haired woman, hair up in a bun, bright green eyes behind black glasses. Nyle raised an eyebrow. "I see you've added to the program." "It was dull and borning, thought I'd spice it up a bit." The woman spoke, giggling. "Trust me babe, if you want to know, anything, and I do mean ANYTHING. Just let me know."

Nicki sighed. "I know that the majority of the awful things that are done are just done out of ignorance and fear and that eventually, after more time has passed, people will be more accepting of us. I know that. I just..." Nicki sighed again. "People are doing really dangerous things...on both sides I'm sure. I just don't know how to comfort myself that either side is right when it all sounds wrong you know?" Nicki shook her head. "Does any of that even make sense?"
Nicki looked to Wyn, sadness in her eyes. "I'm really sorry you don't think fondly of Kaz. He really thinks, truly, thinks fondly of you. And I know he wouldn't kill off all humans or anything..." Nicki neglected to mention that she obtained that information through direct questioning.
Nicki turned to Ashling as the computer registered a large library. Nicki's eyes widened, looking from the computer screen to Wyn. "Has Kaz mentioned me or something? I feel like...like you know me" Nicki sighed in amazement as she looked back to the computer screen. "How could you know to show me this?"

"Hmm..." Nyle had a quizical loon on his face as Nicki spoke. "I know you don't need any more questions added to your already full plate, but." Pausing, trying to think how to word himself. "Have you given any thought that perhaps both, or all sides, are right?" Nyle put a hand on Nicki's shoulder. "It makes perfect sense. You have a good head on your shoulders. I can tell that already. If you didn't, you would have chosen your path instantly, without concidering anything." Smiling. "I can see why he'd like you."
Ash rolled her eyes at Nyle but stayed silent. Sitting up straight, "As advanced as Ashling is, as human as she may seem. She still doesn't understand people fully. It's not that I don't think fondly of him, it's almost the opposite. If you have brothers or ever seen brothers, they fight, and though they may not get along all the time or that often, they still care for eachother." Nyle caught Ash's glare, for which he just grinned wider. "Kaz walks his own path, as do I. If our paths were to cross, in an unfriendly way, we wouldn't hold a grudge against eachother or fight in anger or try to sway the other." Nyle hoped Nicki would understand what he was saying. "And for you to know so fully that he wouldn't do those acts, then you two must truly be close." A secondary thought came to his head, when he thought of Kaz's past relationship, and his new one. "Has he cried yet?" Ash's eyes widened and looked at Nyle, but she kept quiet.
"No, I haven't seen or spoken to Kaz since the first day he came to the mansion. I told him he could stay in my room, but he hasn't come back, and he hasn't gotten a room for himself. I assume he slept on the roof." Both Nyle and Ash smiled and looked at eachother then to Nicki. "You look like a brainy type. And it's the style I prefer." Nyle said honestly and chuckled. The screen suddenly filled with seven books, all opened to pages where Nyle had left off reading. "If you don't like the library look, how about a search engine?" With that Ash snapped her fingers, the library was replaced with a page similar to a Google search page, but with many more advanced options.

"I understand that there is often more to a question than one side...but at the same time when two people have very different philosophies that get you to the same conclusion, there should be one philosophy that one should prefer. Like...ending a war. One person might want to talk it out while another might want to blow there oposition away. In both circumstances the war is over, but we got there via two totally different vehicles...and any given person would be able to pick one that they prefer. I know that both sides of this problems just want to get to that 'no war' solution...but there methods of getting there don't exactly gel you know?" Nicki asked, looking over to Wyn.
Nicki sighed a little, looking at the computer and calming down a little. "Sorry...I just..." Nicki laughed. "My power is the ability to absorb knowledge so the most powerful thing in the world to me is a library and well...yeah. Okay. I'm alright" Nicki laughed, looking away from the Ashling. While she liked Ashling, Nicki was still a little nervous around computer from her first overload a few months back. "I appreciate it. Really" Nicki smiled.

Nyle listened to Nicki's explenation, nodding every so often. "I get what you're saying. A tough decision indeed. The only solution I can see, isn't really a solution at all. Have you weighed the pros and cons of each? Even if you don't know the spacifics of each side, you can use the base idea of what their stance is, fight or talk. I'll take a wild guess and say the XMen are on the other end."
Nyle's curriousity was piqued when she moved away from Ash just slightly. "You worried about Ash uploading a virus to you?" He said with a grin on his face, as he was joking around with her.

Nicki chuckled nervously. There was more to what was going no with Nicki than simply her fear of computers: she was having problems with Wyn. He seemed sweet enough, but what was scaring her was that she sensed no edge on him, no harshness. Everyone she had ever met in her life had something in the way of darkness in them, but this guy didn't. What was he hiding? Nicki knew that he and Kaz were close, particularly a while ago...what was going on with this guy to show nothing negative coming off of him in the least?
"No...no it's nothing like that" Nicki shook her head at the virus comment. "I just...I can absorb too much information if I'm not careful and I get overloaded and well...the last time I wasn't in complete control and I touched a computer I kinda slipped into a coma..." Nicki shrugged, looking down at the floor again. "And I'm not in complete control right now."
