The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Lenna brought up the footage. They hung around outside until a woman showed up and following a conversation, which was broken by the woman imitating REM, the woman left with Lori and Mars' brother in tow. Nothing else but their initial vector could be determined by the video footage.
"Know the brunette?"
"Never seen 'er before in my life." After a pause to think the Ranger changed to discussing their movement."They left on foot, their destination is likely nearby. If it was far they'd've most likely snagged a taxi. I doubt it was just walking to walk an' decide later, she moves like she knows where t' go."
"True, but..." Lenna paused. This wasn't quite like tracking a wild animal. They couldn't simply judge from the trampling of brush, footsteps, and traces left behind, where the two had gone. This was New York. It was wide, and varied. With the hotel, they'd at least had an idea of what Lori was thinking. With this unknown woman, there was another variable. She was a wildcard. They couldn't easily predict where she would have led Abyss and Lori. "Would we just walk in that direction, and hope they left some trail of destruction?" Lenna asked with a frown. "Now that there's a third person in the equation, things become more complicated. We can't easily predict the actions of a mind we don't know..."
"True, but...Would we just walk in that direction, and hope they left some trail of destruction? Now that there's a third person in the equation, things become more complicated. We can't easily predict the actions of a mind we don't know..."
The Ranger knew that knowing which way they went and then piling assumptions onto that didn't amount to much while tracking someone, especially in a dense urban area, but it was all they had.
"You're right... but based on what we have now there're two choices I can see. Follow up on what we have, basically nothin', an' hope they left a sign, or break int' several places with cameras t' follow their path."
The Ranger stepped back and put both hands on the back of his/her head attempting to think of some other option to aid gain information to aid in the tracking of the three.
Option One: A wild goose chase. They'd run off in the hopes of finding signs left by the people they were tracking. Signs that happened to be a day old.
Option Two: They break into as many places as they needed, and use the security camera footage from each to aid in their search.
There was a third option. The security guard wandering through the doorway to investigate had seen to that.
"Hey, what's all this, then?" He interrupted.
Lenna turned, to eye the balmy idiot who'd stumbled into their conference. Lenna looked expectantly to the Ranger. She was closer.
Lenna hazarded a guess. "Your defeat?"
That was Michael's cue to punch faces. They'd fry the computer, and take their leave.
The Ranger didn't have long to thing, a guard decided the security room needed to be checked on. A very bad move on his part. "Hey, what's all this, then?"
Lenna looked to the guard, and then to the Ranger and then guessed, "Your defeat?"
The Ranger nodded to Lenna. S/He looked to the confused guard and closed the distance between them. S/He took hold of the guards little tie with his/her left hand and pulled his head down, pulled back his/her right fist, and punched him square in the nose. The man tried to lean back and bring his hands to cover his now bloody face, only the latter was a success. The Ranger held him fast. Placed his/her right hand on the side of the man's head and then, with a grunt, drove the guard sideways and his head into the wall.
"The shock of bein' pummeled by a little blond girl sure makes openin' a can a whoop as on 'em easier." The Ranger then looked to Lenna, "Time to scrap the drives?"
Lenna nodded. "Yup, indeed." She stood, and moved away from the computers. As she moved further away from them, through the security door, and out into the hall, the protection of her aura fizzled. The images on the screen grew a little unfocused. All it would take was a little push from Michael to shove them over the edge.
Lenna leaned up against the wall, placing a foot against it, arms crossed. She waited.
As The Ranger came out, Lenna glanced his/her way. "So, we either try and follow a dead trail and guess a lot, bust into places, and break a lot of laws, or do something entirely unrelated. Got a preference?"
Lenna then left the room, the screens becoming fuzzy as her aura moved away from the Ranger. S/He went to work on the hardware straight away. The screens went to complete fuzz as the sound of harddrives grinding filled the air. Erased data was good, but unrecoverable data is better. The number of drives to wipe was fairly large, and the Ranger without knowledge of which drives had to be wiped, wiped and destroyed them all. When it was all done the Ranger thought about how much power that must have drained must this battery like body. That along with the power drained the night before and when shocking the guard.
S/He opened a drawer near where the first guard still was and found paper clips. The Ranger bent a pair of them out to make them straight, pushed the useless guard on his rolly chair out of the way, took a breath hoping this worked, and stabbed the paper clips into an outlet drawing power into his female battery like body. The rush of power felt amazing, like a sugar rush on steroids. The Ranger let go of the clips and backed up. Some power jumped to the terminals when the Ranger moved close by. S/He had absorbed a bit more than s/he was ready to try and handle.
The drives destroyed and power recharged the Ranger left the room, returning to Lenna's field ending the power leak to nearby objects.
"So, we either try and follow a dead trail and guess a lot, bust into places, and break a lot of laws, or do something entirely unrelated. Got a preference?"
The Ranger replied, in a faster than normal speech conveying that the Ranger was full of energy. "Several cops've no doubt responded to this, tryin' t' break int' places' security areas would probably bring quicker attention an' it won' be long before Murphy catches up with us. I guess unrelated things works for now, we can check the club when it gets late an' wait for Mars' brother to contact him about where 'im an' Lori are."
My, but somebody had suddenly gained an extra clip to their speech. Lenna wondered what had gone through Michael to bring the added energy about.
He went with option three, the 'Do-nothing' approach. Lenna was fine with that. It was better to hold their cards. Giving away their hand so early in the game, and doing risky things, wouldn't help them any. They didn't want to attract any more police interest than they already had. Lenna stepped away from the wall.
"In that case, let's return to the apartment, and wait." She started walking, down the hall, and out the front entrance.
They boarded a city bus, and rode it back to her place. They would wait.
