The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The block pit felt like home, but Twyla knew she had to get out of it or she'd start to cry. She pulled herself out in one fluid motion an soon she was standing on regular floor once again. "I wouldn't mind being treated like a VIP for once." Brown eyes rolled at the comment, showing she was kidding. "As soon as you get a band going, you let us know." She smiled, it could be interesting and it would be a very new experience seeing as not only had the girl never been to a show before but she'd never really listened to jrock either--she knew what it was through books and magazines but she'd never actually experienced that type of music.
She wasn't going to get anywhere if she just messed around, Twyla knew that much. "Maybe signing up for a class or something would have been a better route...?" The girl asked the question but it was directed at no one in particular. The image of the three of them in a pilates class was almost enough to make the girl burst out laughing. maybe a mutant pilates class would be better?
There was just one thing she wanted to do before hunkering down and running or lifting or....whatever it was one did to erase a pudge. Walking over to the bars she pulled herself up onto the smaller one. Her arms protested, but only slightly as she pulled her legs onto the bar so she was sitting in the splits on it. In a fluid motion she pulled herself up into a standing position and launched herself at the higher bar. Slowly, she pulled herself up so that her belly button was in line with the higher bar. The feeling in her arms and torso felt so good that Twyla was confident enough to attempt pulling herself all the way over the bar--sending her into a swing around the tube of covered metal. When her chest was again higher than the bar the blond pulled herself up faster and preformed what her coaches called a 'giant swing'. Her body was fully extended as she swung around the second time. Deciding to dismount she finished her little exercise and landed after doing a tuck in the air. The landing was a little shaky, but Twyla didn't take a full step so she felt pretty good about it. Instinctively, her arms came up in a 'stick it' position.
Dropping her arms, she turned to the other two people in the room. "So, how do you guys want to torture yourselves today?" Being on the bars had made Twyla momentarily brave--brave enough to pretend like she was familiar enough with Juka to label him as a 'guy' and put him in the same category as Henri.
Juka had told the two girls that they would be V.I.Ps. She smiled and turned to watch Twyla on the bars. After she landed, she asked what they were going to do. Before answering the question, Henri began to clap. "That was really cool. I bet it took a long time to get good at something like that. The only thing I do involving bars is vaulting over them with a big, long stick. You should try pole vaulting sometime." The girl tried to think of a way to explain it. "It..It's like feeling like you're going to fly and then maybe fall and hurt yourself. You don't though. Well, at least not if you know the form." She grinned at the pair. "I was definitely not amazing the first few times I did it. I ended up getting pretty good."
Looking around the room, Henrietta tried to think of something for the three of them to do. Her and Twyla had come here on a mission after all. They wanted to lose all their pudge, which was odd considering both girls were relatively skinny. Of course, they paid attention only to the fact that they hadn't been exercising much lately. "Well, we could go lift some weights. If we do that, we should have two people spotting one person. I'm not an awesome weight lifter or anything, but I know you can hurt yourself pretty bad sometimes." An image of a girl a year ahead of her back at Springfield popped into her mind. She had been trying to bench press by herself. Henri had heard that she was trying to find a new maximum weight, but ended up dropping it on her chest and breaking 5 ribs. "Or...maybe something else."
"If there weren't kids in the swimming pool, I'd suggest laps. That's hard to hurt yourself while doing." Trying to think of another idea, she looked at a volleyball court. She wasn't sure how the rest of them felt about that, but it seemed to her like an embarrassing moment waiting to happen. The girl tapped her chin thoughtfully and noticed a hardwood floor for dancing. She turned excitedly to the other two people. "How about dancing? We all like to dance, right? There's so much room. It would be awesome, especially since they have a bar and everything. What do you say?"
"I wouldn't mind being treated like a VIP for once."
"Darling, of course you must be my very special VIP," Juka answered. For shame, people treating both of these dears like common people. How could no one see just how exceptional they were? Well, whether the rest of the world saw it or not Juka certainly did and he would make sure they both realized just how very special they both were. If there was one thing he was good at it was that. Well, there were many things he was good at but that was certainly one of them. Alas, working out was not one of them.
"So, how do you guys want to torture yourselves today?"
"There really is no other way to get in shape is there?" Juka shook his head sadly. Why did he have to have ambitions that required him to have actual muscles? Why or why did he have to decide that he wanted to be a super hero? It would be so much easier had he not.
"Well, we could go lift some weights. If we do that, we should have two people spotting one person. I'm not an awesome weight lifter or anything, but I know you can hurt yourself pretty bad sometimes."
Juka wanted to say anything but lifting weights (he still thought the weight lifting equipment looked more like equipment meant for torture) but he had made a vow to himself that he would get in shape and he wasn't about to break that vow now. "I don't think I'm very good at lifting weights, but I'm willing to try. Guess it kind of defeats the point if I use my bubbles to lift the weights instead?" He grinned sheepishly at the girls, mostly kidding. Mostly. There was still the (distant) hope that they might disagree with him and thus give him permission to cheat, but he didn't really expect that to happen.
"How about dancing? We all like to dance, right? There's so much room. It would be awesome, especially since they have a bar and everything. What do you say?"
"Now dancing I can do!" Juka agreed emphatically and with enthusiasm. "All we need is a little music and we can have and epic dance off, just the three of us."

Swimming, blech. Lifting weights, blech. Epic dance off to the death? Hell yes.
"Sounds good." Twyla half skipped across the room to the black box she spied mounted on the wall. If her guess was correct this was the master control for the music in the room--a guess based on the speakers placed in the corners. If she was right she could hook them up with some tunes. Hopefully the box wouldn't be locked. Twyla could barely reach the black box but she found a foam covered block that helped her increase her height. Just their luck, the box was locked. She stared angrily at the black door for a moment before she saw the key placed atop of it. "Hah!." The girl muttered to herself, sliding the key into the lock and pulling open the tiny door.
"Jackpot." A moment later Twyla was surfing the airwaves until she found a pop music station that was playing some Lady Gaga. "I think this'll work." She hopped off the block and turned back to the other two. "No need to thank me, I did it out of the goodness of my heart." She rolled her eyes at herself and reached a hand behind her head to adjust her loose ponytail.
Walking over to the wooden floor she tapped her foot absently to the beat of the song. A dance off was something she'd never done before. Twyla had danced for school and she'd danced at parties but she'd never danced somewhere so...public and with such a lack of other people. The girl was suddenly shy--she'd danced with Henri before but not the man in the purple pants.
"Um...I did my part. Someone else..." She waved her hand at the floor as if it had the rest of her sentence etched into its glossy surface.
Dancing it was. Twyla had hijacked the air waves. Henri gave her an appreciative grin. It seemed that the blonde wanted someone else to dance first. The 16 year-old bit her lip in thought. There's so much I could do, but would be embarrassed to do at the same time. Stomping her foot slightly, she shook her head. Nothing to be embarrassed about. This is for fun. You remember fun, Henri. You got this. She turned and smiled at the other two people in the room.
"Fine, I'll go first. I'm not going to start with anything complicated. I figure we can progress to bigger and better dance moves." The brunette smile and then faced away from them. Counting the beats off in her head, she closed her eyes for a moment. Alrighty. What to do? Putting her arms up in the air, she did a single spin and went into the side splits. Standing up again, she did another single spin, some easier moves with her feet, and then did a hair flippy thing in a circle. She laughed and looked at her friends.
"I always wanted to do a hair flippy, even if it didn't fit in perfectly with the rest of what I did. Someone else's turn." Henrietta moved out of the way and gestured to the floor. "Juka, do you want to go next, or does Twyla?" She looked at the man and then the blonde. Takers, anyone?
