The boy smirked when Etta told him that he was her favorite part. "I am often the favorite event of most people's evenings." He laughed a bit to show her that it was a joke even though his tone was normal. "I'm glad you had fun." Gray eyes traveled across the snowy grounds behind the gate. Now what? What an interesting question. It was one with many, many correct answers. The first one that came to mind was that he could kiss her. They had been on a date after all...
Somehow, that seemed boring.
Ignoring his initial instincts, Van leaned forward and smiled at the girl in front of him. He could imagine himself kissing her, he maybe even wanted to kiss Etta. Getting closer to her, he looked her straight in the face and spoke. "I really did have a good time too." He paused for dramatic effect and then dinked her on the nose with his pointer finger. "Call me." A phone sign became his hands as he turned away and started walking down the street.
Turning around after a few steps he called: "Later, Etta!" He'd be seeing her later, fo' sho'.

The boy joked that he was the favorite part of most people's nights. Henri knew that the boy was joking. The small laugh he gave told her this. She gave him a big smile. When he started to lean towards her, Henrietta felt her heart beat faster. Oh man. Is he gonna kiss me?
Tons of thoughts continued to swirl around in her head. Van told the brunette that he had enjoyed their evening as well. Just when she thought she was going to get a kiss, she got a poke on the nose. The brunette blinked and looked at him. He made a "call me" sign with his hand. Henri laughed. "I'll do that. I do still have your number on the back of that picture you snuck into my pocket." She grinned at the thought of the boy sneaking the picture into her pocket.
She turned toward the gate to walk in.The last thing she heard the boy say that night was his good-bye. Facing back towards him, she yelled after him. "See you Van!" -- After getting inside, she took off her dress and put on her pajamas. Yawning, she pulled her covers back and hopped into her bed. It may be a little early in the day for a nap, but I didn't get any sleep at all last night.
Thinking about the date, she drifted off to sleep thinking about the boy who had taken her to the shiny junkyard. She would definitely call him. There was no doubt in her mind.
