The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

This is a continuation from "Out of the Frying pan..."
The gates were big, and almost a little quaint, but that was probably due to their size. All in all, Mindy had never really seen any mansion that huge. She made a silent 'wow'; she was too cool to be gawking at structures with an open mouth, when two guys were in her company. Nonetheless, she was very fascinated.
"This is like... awesome!"
Quite some money had been put into this facility, that was for sure. Just how many people lived here? Certainly, if Mindy decided to go anywhere on her own, she would get so lost. So far, she had relied on Gawain and Juka to lead her to this place, and they had.
"Um, okay... we're here. What's next on the agenda?"
Hopefully, the death traps wouldn't decide to malfunction and start going off; she had already had an eventful evening. She shook her head slightly and laughed at herself inwardly. She was just being paranoid. This state-of-the-art technology wouldn't just go nuts without a good reason. She could assume she was safe.
Mindy looked to her two guides, waiting for their next move. Try as she might, she was unable to hide the slightly nervous look on her face.

Raina was just getting ready to have a walk about the mansion when she heard a voice exclaiming how awesome things were. A smile crept to her cheeks as she knew that was the sound of a potentially new student. Raina must have had a radar... she always knew when the new students arrived.
"Well next, you come in and meet me!" exclaimed Raina opening the door for the new comer and two others she did not recognize but looked as if they were students here. "Hello. I'm Raina, nice to meet you. Welcome to our school."
The young girl looked to be about 17 with light blond hair- the kind that showed off her features in her face. She was pretty.
Juka grinned his agreement. "Oh darling one, you haven't seen anything yet. Wait until we get inside." Delicous anticipation to show this lovely woman all the many wonders hidden within the Mansion gates. Juka thrived off attention and thrived off impressing as many people as possible and this was the perfect opportunity to do just such a thing. Who could not, after all, be duely impressed by the grand Mutant Mansion? Surely not this beautiful lady.
"Um, okay... we're here. What's next on the agenda?"
"The agenda must surely be to show you around and have you meet all of the amazing people here." The question was, who to introduce her to first? There was his lovely Ghosty and bestest friend Jewelly, of course, but they were sadly gone off who knew where for the moment. Cafas, unfortunately, he hadn't seen around much and was pretty sure the man didn't actually live here. The difficult decsion was taken from him, however, when a stranger showed up and introduced herself. A stranger who Juka had never seen in the Mansion before. How very curious.
"Well next, you come in and meet me! Hello. I'm Raina, nice to meet you. Welcome to our school."
"Hello pretty Raina," Juka said, extending his hand for a handshake. One never appreciated the simple pleasures of actally being able to shake hands until they had spent a month trapped in a bubble unable to shake the hands of anyone. "An absolute pleasure to meet your exaulted acquantance." He bowed low and formal to her.
Gawain grinned at how excited Buffy was about the Mansion. True, seeing it from the outside for the first time might have been impressive. He'd missed out on that when he sneaked in through the library windows. Well. It happens.
>>"Well next, you come in and meet me! Hello. I'm Raina, nice to meet you. Welcome to our school."
Gawain nodded without missing a beat. "Eeeexactly. Next you come in and meet the lovely Raina." he said with a smirk, wondering who the lady actually was. He also remembered he should probably wipe the blood off his cheek. It was already dry.
"So, this is our lovely school" he summarized, walking inside with the others "It's packed with people who are as weird as we are and all shades of fun."
