The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Eaen was laying down on one of the couches in a downstairs living room, aimlessly flipping through the channels with a blanket wrapped around him. He glanced out the window and much to his dismay it was still raining outside, depressing for Winter, and he just sighed, turning his attention back to the television set. He rolled his eyes as he flipped past another marathon of an old reality tv show and he eventually resorted to sticking with CNN.
He raised an eyebrow and pulled the blanket tighter around him as he read "The Mutant Messiah" across the red banner at the bottom of the screen. He caught a quick look of a mutant with incredibly pale skin and blue hair. He had elegant features and his lips were curled up slightly. However, Eaen was most caught up in his eyes. They were such a deep shade of blue it almost seemed like his eyes were burning into you, but they seemed kind.
'Strange...' Eaen thought, 'kind blue eyes that burn...'
However, he didn't get to see much more for the screen quickly switched to read "The Mutant Problem". Eaen snorted. 'Exactly what we all need...' He played with the remote, debating whether or not he wanted to change the channel. 'Some guy running around causing more problems for mutants. As if they didn't hate us enough already.'
He eventually decided to just leave it on CNN and made note again that Miguel was ignoring him. He was enjoying the peace and quiet, but it still bothered him a little bit. He decided he wouldn't worry about it any longer though, the last thing Eaen needed was for Miguel to pop back earlier than he wanted too.
Eaen took a deep breath and finally decided to settle down with a documentary about Europe after the Holocaust. He had studied World War II like every other American student at various points during his grade school career. It was fascinating in such a dark way, he just couldn't for the life of him understand what could drive people to such horrible acts.
"How can people hate each other for such strange reasons?" Eaen thought aloud as a commerical for a popular clothing store came on tv. He watched as the white teenagers danced across the snow in their trendy clothing oblivious to the rest of the world.
Deathstar walks in from out side talking to Darius, and sees Eaen on the couch, they haven't talked really since the incident at the restaurnt, she thought she would hang with her bud for a while, she sneaks up behind the couch, attemtping to scare him and get a good laugh out of it...
Ahhhh!!!...got ya, "she sreamed really loud scaring everyone else in the room", what ya watchin, she plows on the couch beside him and and snatch the remote out his hand so that she an turn up the volume...... I would never wear anything like that, for one its dorky, and its so uniform, its like their all the same people , no kind of variety.... "she said as she looks at the clothing commercial".. would you where that?..
Eaen screamed as Deathstar popped up behind him and jumped off the couch. He immedietely broke down into a fit of laughter, because he had managed to launch the blanket off of himself and it was currently drapped nicely over the coffeetable.
As he gathered up his blanket, he plopped back down onto the couch, sitting down next to Deathstar. He smiled at her before pulling the blanket around him again. "Way to scare the living daylights out of me!'
Still chuckling to himself he looked back up to see the end of the clothing commerical. He leaned over to prop himself up on a pillow and shook his head. "They're all the same person... Plus there's the fact that they're all smiling like that... and who goes out in the snow in a miniskirt?"
He shook his head again and looked down at his Etnies sweatshirt and plaid pajama pants. "No, I guess I wouldn't wear something like that. Please, I haven't even bothered to change out of my PJs yet..."
Eaen sat there for a few moments watching the next commerical, somthing about soap, before he looked over at Deathstar remembering her question. "Oh, I was watching a documentary on post-World War II Europe. You can change the channel if you want."
Looking back to the tv Eaen smirked remembering where Deathstar had been. "So... What do you think about Darius?"
deathstar was flickering through the channels, Yea!1...those pajamas are just ugh!!.. "she let out her disgust over ther commercial", she heard Eaen chuckle and turned to look at him to see whats so funny, then she hears him say something about darius, she turned to look at him as if she was trying to deny her little crush, me and darius please1..he's not my type ..thinking she ended Eaen's assumptions oh deathstar and darius she contnued to talk about him, I mean he probaly already has somebody, and it would never work...because I'm deathstar, I mean he's a little cute, but its just ....I don't have to explain myself to you , she tries erase what she just said to Eaen, while she was talking her face began to blush over talking about darius, By ending her statement she hope that would end the conversation over darius....
Eaen smiled as he noticed Deathstar was blushing. If he had just met Deathstar he would have gotten offended by how she ended off her statement, but he knew her better than that.
"You can try to act all tough Deathstar," Eaen started, still smiling at the girl, "but you're not going to push me away. Nice try though." He readjusted the pillow, and decided to lay against the edge of the couch instead, tossing the pillow to one of the other chairs. "But we don't have to take about Darius if you don't want too..."
Eaen curled up a little bit, pulling the blanket up a little higher. "Although..." he continued slowly, "he did seem to like you in the dining room this morning... and I bet he didn't ask you to go outside with him so he could tell you he doesn't like you." He smiled impishly before finishing. "Plus, you two would look pretty cute together I think."
deathstar squinted her eyes toward Eaen, she saw the the pillow on the love seat, she grabs it and started to hit Eaen with it,.playfully hitting him, she mentioned she doesn't like darius.. Look I'm not gonna tell you again..let it go!!...it's nothing there between the two of us... she sits back in her seat and tries to watch T.V but something came to her mind not about darius but about Eaen...
She cuts the T.V off with the remote... Eaen I'd been meaning to ask you, what happened at the restaurant, For some reason i didn't recognize you for a moment there, I called your name but it ws like you were somebody else... she adjusted herself to the edge of the seat ,waiting for his response
Eaen yelped as Deathstar started to attack him with the pillow, and he just raised his arms to block his head from it, due to the fact that he was left defense because of his currently fit of giggles. After Deathstar had stopped, Eaen took a moment to fix in his hair and smiled at Deathstar. "Remind me to never annoy you within the vicinity of pillows ever again... You've got quite the arm!"
He was rather content watching tv, until Deathstar asked him about what had happened the other day. He deflated a bit, and sort of slumped over where he was sitting. He thought for a moment, trying to think of the best way to explain Miguel, once again.
"Well..." he started out slowly. "My mutant abilities are empathy and I have a physical mutant that allows my body to... have two souls in it I guess. Also I can draw people's souls out of their bodies and either leave them out in the astral plane, or draw them into my own body."
He took a deep breath and leaned back a little bit, pausing so he could collect his thoughts. "When I was younger there was an accident and because of it I drew my cousin Miguel into my body and well, his body died. And since his soul wasn't there when it happened..." He winced as he thought about the dead bodies that were on the ground in his parent's bedrooms.
"So, after a bunch more stuff happened, I got stuck with Miguel inside my head, and I can't use my mutant powers anymore." Eaen looked preoccupied but he continued to speak to Deathstar, "So, normally he can't take over my body... but when I get hurt or really upset or something... it creates like a chink in my armor and he can gain control. But only until I've had time to recover. He's a mutant too by the way. He actually has some pretty poweful telekinetic abilities.." Eaen blushed when he thought about what had happened at the restaurant. "Um, as you've already witnessed... That was Miguel who went on a rampage in the city the other day."
Eaen looked sadly off to the side, wondering what had happened to all of the people at the restaurant. "Did you hear from any of your friends? Are they okay?"
deathstar was starting to truly understand eaen's power, she thought that guy she was at the restauraunt wasn't eaen, but she finally understood she thought.. can miguel ever leave your body?...she asks while trying make himfeel comfortable, ...Umm!!, ..well my friends are okay but that waitor .... he didn't...umm!!..well I finally understand your powers.. she tried to change the subject knowing well that the waitor died on the way to the hospital, because of the injuries he sustained because of Miguel.....
Eaen shook his head in response to Deathstar's question. "Nope," he replied, "he's stuck in here. The only time he ever gets to do anything is when he takes over my body. I'm actually shocked that Miguel hasn't lost his mind by now... being stuck in a body without having anything to do..."
He played with the edge of the blanket, wondering what it must be like to be Miguel. "He spends a lot of his time in a sleep state, so he's often dreaming I guess."
<"Morning.">
'Huh, there you are.'
<"What? Did you miss me?">
'No... I was just curious as to why you've been so quiet lately... It's been bothering me.'
<"So you do miss me.">
'I said no. Miss is definetly not the right word. I was just concerned about why you were so quiet.'
<"Dude, lie all you want. The hell's going on here?">
'Heh? I'm just hanging out with Deathstar.'
<"Who's Darius?">
Eaen sighed. One of his least favorite things was when Miguel would flip through his memories as if they were files in a drawer he could just pull out and make reference to when he wants.
'Why are you asking me when you already know?'
<"He seems like a punk.">
'Getting jealous?'
<"Of a punk like him? I could take him.">
'Oh stop it, he seems like a nice guy. And what were you planning on doing inside my head anyways? Pretend to get into a fight with him?'
<"I'll get my chance.">
Turning his focus back to Deathstar he smiled apologetically. "Sorry, Miguel just woke up." He smiled at Deathstar, relieved that her friends were all okay. He didn't hear about the waiter though. Although Eaen didn't have complete access to Miguel's thoughts, Miguel did have access to his and Miguel made sure the comment about the waiter didn't register. Although Eaen had no idea, Miguel was slowly altering his cousin's memory of the incident at the restaurant. He couldn't change it alltogether without causing Eaen to have a mental breakdown, but small details he could change.
Some would say that Miguel actually cared about Eaen, others would realize the more oblivious Eaen is to what Miguel can do when he's in power, the better. For Miguel that is.
deathstar just sat there looking at eaen, as if she is waiting for miguel to all of the sudden come out, she was glad she was beginning to understand eaen's power, but she almost feels sorry for him, the fact the he has with two souls in one body can be overbearing, ...but that wan't gonna change how she felt about him.....
she moves closer to him , looking him in the eyes as if something was inside him.... can he hear me now?........ what do you all talk about in there? ..she was asking so many questions of interest about miguel....she was curious of how the two cooperate together
Eaen smiled at Deathstar's enthusiasm regarding Miguel. "Yeah he can hear you."
<"I'm more than just hearing her, I'm receiving it all looouuudd and clear...">
'Will you shut up?'
"Umm..." Eaen scratched the side of his head as he thought for a second. "We usually just argue about whatever is going on at the current moment. We stopped having any sort of real conversation really shortly after it all happened. We're really different people actually... Night and Day, Yin and yang type thing."
<"Potato and lampshade.">
'potato and... what the hell are you talking about?'
<"Tell Deathstar I said hi!">
'First explain the logic behind potato and lampshade.'
<"Tell her I said hi!">
Eaen sighed and shook his head before blushing a little bit. "Miguel says hi, by the way."
Deathstar moved back into her spot, looking back at the television hey!!...you seen the remote?..she asks Eaen in hopes that he will know where it was, in which she had it in the first place..
I thought I seen it somewhere ...Oh here it is!! she finds the remote she had it in her hand the whole time..she looks at Eaen So what do ya wanna watch.... she asks hoping that he wanna watch a horro flick , which was her favorite...
Eaen shrugged. "I dunno. Whatever you want to watch is fine by me..." His mind wandered to the blue haired man he saw on the tv earlier, but he just shook his head and brought himself back to the present.
"Hey..." Eaen leaned back a little on the couch before continuing. "I was wondering if you could tell me a little bit about all that stuff you and Raphael were talking about earlier at breakfast?"
Eaen was still curious about the subculture Raph and Deathstar had been apart of, and if he had any plans of convincing Deathstar to let him tag along, he figured he might as well learn a little bit about what he was getting himself into. He was pretty determined about going as well, Deathstar was set on keeping on a eye for him, and Eaen was going to return the favor.
<"She's a big girl, she can take care of herself.">
'But still... I'm sure it wouldn't hurt her and Raphael to have me around, yeh?'
<"Dude, I'm just playing devil's accoutant. I'm all for heading to the arena place. It'll be freaking awesome!">
'Um, advocate'
<"What?">
'The term is "Devil's Advocate". Unless you've been handling Satan's taxes.'
<"Dude, how you gunna tell me even?">
Eaen laughed before turning back to Deathstar, wondering if she was going to fill him in or not.
Deathstar got into a serious moment, she sat on the edge on the couch, and out her hands on her knees, well!! ...when I was a runaway, I went to a place called the darkside, located in new york...its the place what I would call "Sin", where criminals fighters and thieves like myself used to dwell...its no vacation nor a picnic, alot of people go there and little ever leave, see me and ralph was the lucky ones we left , when we had the chance... she begins to rub her arms, as the thought of that place ran through her head......which made her nervous...
butits details that i can't tell you, but i can tell you this, alot of the fighters go up there to get rich or die trying..that was the consequences of trying to make a quick buck, as for ralph , the fame and the money was good but the pain of taking innocent lives , is a pain you can never get rid of, trust me I know from experience... she said as she turned her head away as she tried to hide her emotions..and then all of the sudden got quiet as if she was in deep thought....
Eaen looked down at the ground when Deathstar told him about the darkside, or as she called it "Sin". He placed his hand on her shoulder and looked over at the blonde girl.
"I'm sorry you had to go to such a horrible place." He spoke quietly, figuring this was a private conversation between the two of them and there was no reason anyone else in the living room should be able to hear what they were saying. He put his hand back in lap while thinking about what to say next. "I don't know what you specifically had to do while being part of all of that... but I do know that you shouldn't let your past haunt you. It sounds like you had to do what you had to do. Survival isn't always... easy to swallow I guess."
Eaen brought his knees up to his chest, and wrapped his arms around his legs. He looked out of the window and watched as raindrops dripped off the leaves of a bush outside. Seeing as how Deathstar hadn't turned the TV back on, he could just barely hear the sound of the rain through the silence.
