The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

~~"Glad to hear that I'm a rare occurrence, not to mention a charming young damsel,"
“mmm.” He said in appreciative agreement.” The woman could take a compliment, he absolutely loved that.
~~"The unworthy bask in my presence?". "You are so far from unworthy and if you like you may most certainly bask in my presence."
“I think I will take you up on that offer.” He was about to claim being unworthy again, but he did just remind himself, that he liked confidence in a woman so why not display some in turn. Pluto Gingerly picked a grape off of the tangle, pile, vine, bundle, bushel…whatever the heck a group of grapes was called. A bundle? And ate it, after he was satisfied that they were delicious he intended on attempting a move. He contemplated as he listened.
~~"I'm afraid I don't have to many hobbies. I enjoy my martial arts, of course, and going on hikes in the forest. I guess I'm also an artist, a sculpture in particular though I'm not to bad at drawing and painting either."
“ I think having a few strong hobbies is more entertaining than having a hoard of hobbies that you dabble in. I would like to see some of your work sometime. If that’s ok, maybe we can go hiking sometime. I draw, but I wouldn’t necessarily call it art.”
He paused after popping another grape in his mouth. “mmm, these are really good, Try one?’ he held up a plump green grape, toward meld’s mouth he wasn’t so zealous to close the full distance and simple put in her mouth, but if she chose to lean forward a little she could eat it, but if she chose to take it with her hands it wouldn’t be to awkward.

"You can see some of my work right now," Meld said, smiling. She moved her tail over her head and blinked a ruby red eye at Pluto. "Every one of my flesh melds I created myself, from the planning to the forging and finally to the actual melding." They were something that Meld was incredibly proud of and that pride showed in the way she spoke of them. So much the better that she could speak of them with Pluto. Hopefully he wouldn't think to deeply about how, exactly, that melding process worked. People had been known to not take so well to the idea of bloody removal of limbs only to replace them with metal parts.
“mmm, these are really good, Try one?’
Unexpectedly Pluto was now trying to feed Meld a grape. She froze a moment, completely unsure what to do next. He seemed to want her to take the grape with her mouth but she had never done such a thing before, only ever seen it done on tv. People really did this? Apparently. She felt like it would look ridiculous but, one deep calming breath later, decided to simply go for it. What was there to lose, after all? Pluto seemed to like her and if one ridiculous looking action was enough to turn him away then he wasn't worth it anyway.
Gigling yet again (what was wrong with her anyway?) Meld grabbed the grape with her teeth and swallowed it. It was juicy and delicious. She grinned a little sheepishly. "I don't think I ever expected to do such a thing." That wasn't necessarily a bad thing.
“oh?" Pluto said looking around the tiny hideaway, had she known about this spot already?
~~“Every one of my flesh melds I created myself, from the planning to the forging and finally to the actual melding."
Pluto’s jaw dropped a bit in realization, he had wondered how and where Meld had found each exquisite piece that she wore as her limbs, if there was anything that meld need not worry about, it was spontaneous deep thinking, at least not from Pluto, he was blinded anew by the craftsmanship in each limb.
“I am impressed Meld, I admit I am surprised, not that I should be, I just didn’t realize that this was all your work. How long does it take, I mean every bit of you is breath taking?”
He said it with out realizing the thought escaped his lips, His eyes wondered over her still on tilt from astonishment.
“mmm, these are really good, Try one?’
~~"I don't think I ever expected to do such a thing."
Her little sheepish giggles were becoming a prize to him each one so innocent and natural, but there was a definite hesitance, it was as if she was walking on a unseen path, not sure of each step but taking them anyway. So brave and true, She was what he wanted the Order to have been all along. The Order was a perversion of the beauty that Meld had to offer.
Pluto let out a small breath, letting his mind flow out of his mouth. “ I find my self smitten, I don’t mean to cross any lines, I just look at you and find my self past them.” He stumbled on his tongue a bit more conscious of what he was saying. “ I, Ugh, not just you out here, you in there too.” He said motioning to her body and then to her head and presumably her mind. “ You fascinate me.”

“I am impressed Meld, I admit I am surprised, not that I should be, I just didn’t realize that this was all your work. How long does it take, I mean every bit of you is breath taking?”
Meld felt very pleased at the praise, felt her face literally glowing with it. She was always pleased when others admired her work but from Pluto it was something more special than usual. His praise meant something. "The whole process usually takes a couple of months, from the time spent putting things down on paper to the forging process to the actual meld itself. Its the creation that takes the time, the meld itself is almost instant."
“ I find my self smitten, I don’t mean to cross any lines, I just look at you and find my self past them. I, Ugh, not just you out here, you in there too. You fascinate me.”
"You truly aren't the only one." For a moment Meld lapsed into silence. It was going so well, she truly did like Pluto a lot and he seemed to feel likewise. She didn't want to decieve him though, lead him to believe that she was something that she was not. It didn't even have a chance to succeed without honesty and she really did want it to succeed.
"You need to know something about me Pluto." More difficult to say than it should be. "I don't know what you expect. I don't even know what I expect right now. But you need to know...that in a way I'm not a proper person. I can't feel. Physically I mean." She looked down at her hand, still touching Pluto's. "I can't feel your hand on mine. I probably never will. I just want you to know." She looked down, almost afraid to meet his eyes, afraid of what his reaction to her confession might be.
Meld had never thought to feel so inadequate before. She had known, back when she still believed herself to be human, what it was like to feel the touch of another, in tenderness and in pain. She would never know that again. It was, at that moment, profoundly unfortunate.
One of the corners of his mouth raised coyly at the honest reply.
~~"You need to know something about me Pluto." "I don't know what you expect. I don't even know what I expect right now. But you need to know...that in a way I'm not a proper person. I can't feel. Physically I mean." "I can't feel your hand on mine. I probably never will. I just want you to know."
Pluto looked sad for a split second , something she might not have caught if she was avoiding his eyes. And then he smiled again. It was more courage than true happiness. “ In a world of mutants you can’t say Never. I am happy that you told me, I love that you want to be honest with me. It makes me happy. But if you can or you can’t it still boils down to what I was saying a moment ago, I am fascinated by you. Not just the you out her, but more so by the you in there.” He paused. “ I understand that it might make things difficult at times, but if you are interested in seeing what happens…I am certainly interested too.”
He tilted his head again. “ may I ask you something? Does that go for the places that are melded? Either way, I bet there is a mutant out there somewhere that could change it.”

Pluto understood. It wasn't just that Pluto understood her words, but he seemed to understand what they meant as well, for the two of them and their potential future together. More than that though, he even seemed to think that there might be some chance, in the distant future, of fixing her handicap. Meld couldn't help the relieved smile that came to her lips. It certainly wouldn't be easy but at least he was willing to try and she really couldn't ask any more than that.
"Its my entire body," Meld answered sadly. It had been a very long time since she had felt so hampered by her handicap. It was always a barrier between herself and anyone other than herself, but never before had she felt the loss so keenly. "I think its a kind of defense mechanism, or maybe an adaptation to my mutation. It allows me to replace limbs entirely painlessly. Its also not a half bad trait during times of battle." She grinned ruthlessly.
"I'm glad you understand though. I hope one day I might feel again but I don't know when or if that day will ever come. In the mean time, I intend to enjoy my life as it is and especially enjoy my time spent with you." A coy smile followed her words and another bright red blush of her cheeks. Something really must be wrong with her to act like such a school girl.
