The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Pluto was feeling good as the car pulled up to the Mansion, he had called ahead just to make sure that they knew it was the friendly red giant and not a big ball of red trouble coming to wreck their home. The car was rented and chauffeured, Pluto had a decent amount squirreled away, He ad his share of Knox money and didn’t plan on giving it back just cause he quit the company, he thought of it as a sovereigns package.
He might have just rented a car, but having a driver freed up more time for them to get to know one another and allowed him to stave off the horrors of having to reveal how crazy he was when he drove. It was win. All win. SO what did he have planned for the ir casual evening out? He decided to something odd but memorable, he had a back up plan if meld preferred to do something else. But the place was mutant run so, it sounded like a fun environment to him. He hoped she wasn’t the type to try to go dutch cause then they’d have to argue over bill paying and that would just be silly.
He felt like he looked good with out being over dressed, though this was typically a little bit better than he usually dressed by leagues from the tux she saw him in the first time. He wore a pair of dark blue jeans and a white polo, he even managed to find a pair of shoes that were almost like converse in his size, they weren’t tennis shoes or dress shoes or loafers…he didn’t know what to call them. they were shoes. His head had a couple weeks growth of hair on it so it was just getting to the point of fuzz, his face however was clean shaven and to him, amazingly soft to the touch; he was used to the stubble and goatee of a wicked man. But now he had the shaved face of clean living.
Pluto hoped out of the back of the car making sure the driver knew he didn’t and shouldn’t open the door for them, he would take care of that. He walked up to the huge house and smiled at anyone that looked even a bit concerned. A lot of people knew better to trust anything that big and muscley, particularly if it was red.
He waited a little bit away from the mansion just to keep out of the way of the bustling student traffic. The place was like an ant mound, it reminded him of the rich version of the Sanct…which felt like the hood version of the mansion just about now.
He dialed the number that he was given from meld and he smiled as he saw he was about ten minutes early.
“Hi its Pluto.” A moment of listening. “I know I am a little early, but I am here, no rush or anything. Take your time if you need to, I’ll wait out front.”

Meld couldn't help the nerves fluttering around inside her stomach. The last date she had was way back in high school before she even knew she was a mutant and she didn't even remember how to date, really. She knew the idea obviously: engage in some activity with your partner, a movie or some other such even, maybe have some dinner and get to know the person your with to see if you're compatible. The basics she knew but what she didn't know was how to prevent herself from making a fool of herself. She remembered a time, way back in her past, where her life was more than just fighting and the mutant cause but that wasn't who she was anymore. She prayed silently to herself that she would be able to remember how to simply be Aris rather than the warrior that was Meld. She prayed that other side of her would be able to come out tonight because she so desperately wanted this to go well.
As Meld mentally fretted over what the night was going to hold in store for the two of them, she chose what clothes to wear carefully. She didn't have much that was appropriate for an event like this, but she did manage to dredge up a long black skirt and a matching short sleeved black dress shirt. It was elegent while remaining casual. Around her neck she wore her favourite spiked collar, something she hadn't had the opportunity to bring out in a very long time and was secretly pleased to be able to wear again. She hoped Pluto would appreciate it.
Just as Meld was putting the finishing touches on her outfit, her phone went off.
“Hi its Pluto. I know I am a little early, but I am here, no rush or anything. Take your time if you need to, I’ll wait out front.”
"Hi Pluto...Don't worry about it, I'm just about ready. I'll be right out." Meld took one last quick look in the mirror to ensure that everything was as it should be. Her makeup was subtle, just enough to accentuate what she all ready had and it was another thing she hadn't had a chance to wear in many months. Well, aside from Ghost's wedding of course. She dabbed a small amount of perfume on her wrists and neck, keeping it subtle. She hated when people overdid it on the scents so she wasn't about to be one of those people you could smell from a block away.
With a deep breath for courage Meld walked out of the Mansion doors, head held high. She might be nervous but she would be damned if anyone was going to pick up on her nerves, especially not Pluto. At the first sight of pluto her face lit up in a happy smile, an expression that was probably strange to see on her face. "Hello there Pluto. You look great." She blushed, unused to giving out that sort of compliment, true though it may be.
"Hi Pluto...Don't worry about it, I'm just about ready. I'll be right out."
“okie dok, I’ll be the big red guy, in the front yard..” He rolled his eyes at himself…ya think, Pluto? You sure you aren’t going to be someone else by the time she comes down….really? Really!? “Heh, I’ll see ya in a minute then.”
~~"Hello there Pluto. You look great."
“I had better Meld, if I am going to have a chance at keeping up with you. You are quite stunning.” Pluto smiled a bit bashfully, he loved the smile on her face, It belonged there, and should be there always. He made sure not to Drool over the collar, next time he would allow him self to go a bit more punk…he might even break out the eye liner. Ohh he could do goth punk. He wanted to laugh at his prepish look. But too late now.
“um, The car is over there, I wasn’t sure if we could use the drive or what the etiquette was at Xavier’s.” he put his arm out in a hook to walk her to the vehicle. “so, I want to make sure your up for it befor we spend the majority of the night at the place, How do you feel about diner theatre, it’s a neat little mutant run and owned theater, and I have been curious to see what it is all about, if not we could do something else. Dinner and a movie or maybe hit one of the art museums and grab some coffee, I’m flexible.” He shrugged lightly.

“I had better Meld, if I am going to have a chance at keeping up with you. You are quite stunning.”
Meld blushed all the more, completely unused to such compliments. In any other circumstances she would have assumed the person giving them was just saying it to be nice or, worse yet, lying outright. But Pluto was different. There was just something about him, something that gave the impression that he was being authentic and honest and the fact that Meld believed his words made her smile all the more.
“um, The car is over there, I wasn’t sure if we could use the drive or what the etiquette was at Xavier’s.”
"I honestly have no idea," Meld said with a small laugh. "I haven't really been here all that long and your the first person who's ever come to visit me since I started living here." It made her a little sad to consider how alone she was in the world, but she was determined not to dwell on it. She was here now, with Pluto, and determined to hav ea fantastic evening with him.
“so, I want to make sure your up for it befor we spend the majority of the night at the place, How do you feel about diner theatre, it’s a neat little mutant run and owned theater, and I have been curious to see what it is all about, if not we could do something else. "Dinner theatre sounds great," Meld agreed. "I'm always up for trying new things." She followed Pluto to the car.
~~"I honestly have no idea," "I haven't really been here all that long and your the first person who's ever come to visit me since I started living here,”
“Yeah I am trying to settle into an apartment, and it feels really weird not having tons of people I know right out side the door. You are one visitor up on me.” Sure, there were people he planned on getting to know at the Iris Clinic apartments but no one he really knew, he had met both Garret and Sebbi but he wasn’t sure what he thought. They had both done what he wanted to do, but they accomplished it in a burn the house down fashion…eh.
"Dinner theatre sounds great," Meld agreed. "I'm always up for trying new things."
“Then into traffic we go.” Gah, the innuendo. He had just said he was flexible and she had said she was up for new things. He tried to shake the naughty off of his mind, but damn it she had a collar on and was looking good.
Pluto opened the door for the Lady and closed the door for her after she was in, he would make way around the other side. Between his muscle mass and her metal the back of the car’s suspension was wondering how two fit people added that much weight.
The driver pulled onto the well kept streets of the upscale neighborhood and seemed to enjoy the lack of bumper to bumper crazies.

“Yeah I am trying to settle into an apartment, and it feels really weird not having tons of people I know right out side the door. You are one visitor up on me.”
"Sometimes I miss living in my own appartment and not having so many people around all the time. Before I came to the city I lived on my own. It was a little flea bitten place, bottom of the barrel, but at least it had privacy." Meld shrugged. In truth it was something she missed more than just sometimes. In Sanctuary it wasn't so bad because few people there really judged her or bothered her, but at The Mansion she was always getting distrustful looks. No one ever said anything, but she could tell what they were thinking anyway.
Meld climbed into the vehicle, nodding asilent thank you to Pluto for being so kind as to open the door for her. She was careful not to accidentally dig her claws into the fabric and rip a hole into it. With equal carefullness she moved her tail out of the way. It was still something the was getting used to having.
"Does one ever get used to having a tail?" Meld asked with a laugh, wrapping her tail around herself to keep it out of the way.
~~"Sometimes I miss living in my own appartment and not having so many people around all the time. Before I came to the city I lived on my own. It was a little flea bitten place, bottom of the barrel, but at least it had privacy."
“I dunno, maybe it is having the six brothers, maybe it is being a New Yorker and being overly used to the hustle and bustle, maybe it is a inability to appreciate the wonders of peace and quiet, I don’t really know.”
~~"Does one ever get used to having a tail?"
“I can’t imagine a day with out it.” His tail snaked up to the handle and wrapped around it closing his door behind him, it then went to visit his counterpart’s tail. “I really don’t understand how anyone lives with out one.”
The car zoomed out of the residential in anticipation of getting to the city streets and was rewarded with the bustle of the city, the driver had a competence about him that seemed to be planned a few steps ahead, he was utterly efficient in the way that he drove.
“so, what do you think of the x-men? Sam seems pretty adamant about recruiting, I half want to join him and attempt to do good their way, but part of me wants to just take life from an individuals view for awhile.”

"I had a sister," Meld replied. "Before I discovered I was a mutant it was just my parents, my sister and me." She wasn't sure that she wanted to go into the details of that event, just yet. This was supposed to be a time for the two of them to get to know each other and have some fun, not a time for her to bring things down by recounting depressing events.
It was a curious experience having Meld's own tail wrapped around the tail of someone else. She hadn't even gotten used to having a tail, let alone how it was supposed to react. She didn't complain or move it, however. "I'm getting used to it. I've changed limbs before, but this is my first time actually adding a new appendag." She spun the top of the tail around and blinked a red ruby eye at Pluto.
“so, what do you think of the x-men? Sam seems pretty adamant about recruiting, I half want to join him and attempt to do good their way, but part of me wants to just take life from an individuals view for awhile.”
"I haven't had too many problems with the X-men. As for joining, I don't know, they seem to not be willing to do the things that are necessary for the betterment of our kind. They aren't willing to get their hands dirty and sometimes a little dirt is necessary." Even at a time ike this Meld couldn't forget about her cause.
~~"I had a sister," "Before I discovered I was a mutant it was just my parents, my sister and me."
He paused waiting to see if the foreboding past tense of the word “had” would be further explained, he would swap traumatic childhoods with her, if that is what she wanted to do.
“oh, I have a couple of those too actually, you met Syn. And I don’t know if you had the pleasure of meeting the white sheep of the family, Deathstar, she runs with the x-men. I was actually born of a mutation technically I have only existed for thirteen years? We clones are a result of Abyss’s fractured mind…at least that’s what we figure.”
~~"I'm getting used to it. I've changed limbs before, but this is my first time actually adding a new appendag."
“I must say that I find your mutation intriguing, your taste in melds is exquisite. Well you started in the right place, as far as new limbs go, a tail is what anyone should pick first.” His tail crooked at the end as if it was a curious snake pondering the blinking ruby eye.

“Perhaps they just need a couple of rouges to show them the proper way to get things done. I don’t know, I really don’t part of me wants to go deal out justice in an unbiased manner, mutants, humans any of those out to make the world a worse place. Part of me wants to go back to the blood thirsty order, bend the world til it breaks and reshape it for our kind, and part of me wants to simply throw my hands in the air and let the world fend for its self.
The slick car powered down the road forever coming closer to its new destination..

"I never actually met Syn," Meld stated apologetically. "Its one of the reasons I left the Order. She didn't seem to be much of a leader." She refrained some saying some of her negative views of Syn. 'Not much of a leader' was putting it mildly as far as Meld was concerned, but she was Pluto's family so criticising her too much didn't seem approrpriate. "Being part of Abyss' mind, you're not going to disappear or get reabsorbed into him or anything are you?" It seemed like a legitimate concern.
“I must say that I find your mutation intriguing, your taste in melds is exquisite. Well you started in the right place, as far as new limbs go, a tail is what anyone should pick first.”
Meld looked away shyly and she wasn't used to feeling shy. Then again, she wasn't used to being complimented, especially on her mutation, either. "You know it was your brother Abyss that gave me the idea for it? Seeing his I just couldn't resist getting one of my own."
“Perhaps they just need a couple of rouges to show them the proper way to get things done. "Honestly I don't know where I belong," Meld said with a sigh. "I'm to violent for the X's and too idealistic for the O's. All I know is that I want to make a difference for our kind. With or without a group backing me, I can't just stand by and let things continue as they have been."
The conversation, if not your typical date banter, flowed none the less and that was good at least. Right?
~~"I never actually met Syn," Meld stated apologetically. "Its one of the reasons I left the Order. She didn't seem to be much of a leader." "Being part of Abyss' mind, you're not going to disappear or get reabsorbed into him or anything are you?"
“Its hard to lead, when you are leading a bunch of antiestablishment psychos. I don’t love our government by any means, but they would just as soon destroy everything as they would improve anything. And no I won’t be absorbed, not naturally atleast, none of of us have actually ever just sworn off the others and tried to make it on our own, so I don’t think I will need to go back, I certainly hope I don’t. but If I do I will just get out and make my own way again. I don’t think they hold it against me. Have you seen the Void?”
~~"You know it was your brother Abyss that gave me the idea for it? Seeing his I just couldn't resist getting one of my own."
“ I know exactly what you mean, I followed the pattern a little bit closer than you but he inspired mine as well.” He smirked lightly. “ That’s actually really cool, was he doing anything in particular with it that made you want it? Flinging boulders or something?”
"Honestly I don't know where I belong," "I'm to violent for the X's and too idealistic for the O's. All I know is that I want to make a difference for our kind. With or without a group backing me, I can't just stand by and let things continue as they have been."
“ there is a third group out there, They are called the Kabal, they seem to be pretty active from what I can tell, I could probably get you in touch with their leader. He seems level headed. Or if you are set on staying out of the politics, fee free to call me up when you want a partner in crime or, you see an opportunity to make a difference and want or need some company. I’m looking for my niche too. I am half considering drawing up a costume and going caped crusader on the City. Maybe use a red barrel of monkeys monkey for my emblem.”
The car finally pulled up to the curb of the little theatre, what were they even showing tonight? the 39 steps it was a tony award winning play back in oh eight. It was probably pretty good.

It wasn't like any date that Meld had ever been on beforebut she wasn't complaining. A more traditional date with more traditional conversation would probably do nothing but bore her anyway. "I know what you mean. For some its just about the freedom to kill and maim whoever they wish to. No sense of order or purpose at all." She shuddered slightly at the mention of the Void. "I've seen the Void only once, while on a mission with Pluto. It was...a disturbing experience." And not one that she had much interest in repteating, unless it should prove absolutely necessary.
“ I know exactly what you mean, I followed the pattern a little bit closer than you but he inspired mine as well. That’s actually really cool, was he doing anything in particular with it that made you want it? Flinging boulders or something?”
"Nothing nearly so impressive," Meld said with a laugh. "Though I have no doubt that he certainly could have flung boulders with it. It was more a tail inspired moment of epiphany, realizing what a use it could be and I haven't regreted my decision for a moment. Alas, I cannot throw boulders with my tail but I can see out of it." Another blink from her tail eye by way of demonstration.

Meld nodded. "Actually, funny you should mention the Kabal. I've recently come in contact with them and been hired. I'm just waiting on what they want me to do for them. To say I'm joining is a little premature, mind you, but I will be working for them soon. I'm afraid my knowledge of them is rather limited though. I'd been looking for work and they were the ones to answer my add, so to speak. And I think a red barell of monkeys would make the perfect emblime," Meld agreed laughing.
It was with just a little disappointment that Meld came to the realization that the two had arrived to their destination. As entertaining as dinner theature sounded, she was quite content just driving around and talking. Hopefully they would be able to continue their conversation later in the night.
The actual play was entertaining. The acting was good, It was nice to see mutants on stage. The food, once it finally got there was worth the wait. The banter was short but the flirty energy, at least as far as he could tell was going well even though they didn’t really have time to talk for most of it, he would definitely take her somewhere, where they’d be able to actually get to know each other next, time if she let him have a next time. The place must have been its own little community. Most of the staff was mutant as well. And the rest of it was either accepting or mutants as well. Maybe he would work here, keep this place safe…nah, the Clinic came first. He was going to make that area safe first. And work outward from there. but for all of the greatness and good choice that was provided, he couldn't be happier to get out of there and be somewhere he could flirt actively with his date. He texted the their driver. and got a quicjk reply back. "ready and waiting."
After clapping as the troupe took their bows he leaned over to Meld "What shall we do now? the car is waiting and the city is ours for the taking."

Despite herself, Meld found herself enjoying the play. Especially refreshing was the fact that mutants were the stars of the show and mutants were the owners and caretakers of the establishment. It made her feel a little nostalgic for a world in which that was the way things were all the time. Perhaps one day, if they were diligent in their fight. The food was likewise good; not the best she had ever had but worth it nevertheless. Despite the fact that she and Pluto weren't in a position to talk much throughout the play, the energy remained posative and she could tell that their shared connection remained. Overall, the entire experience was a posative one and she could find little to complain about save, perhaps, that she would have liked more time to talk. At the conclusion of the play there was much clapping boy the audience and bowing by the performers.
"What shall we do now? the car is waiting and the city is ours for the taking."
"I believe we shall," Meld agreed with a smile, following Pluto out the door of the establishment.
Pluto pulled out all the gentlemanly stops, holding doors, looking for a puddle to throw his coat on so she wouldn’t have to walk on it…though it would be easier to simply pick her up and carry her over the thing. They made out side to see their adept driver pulling up to the curb.
“Now where do we go from here? Perhaps a stroll in the park might agree more with getting to know one another?” That would ensure they had plenty of space to talk and perhaps present a puddle or two. There also just so happened to be a pair of blankets, one for the ground and one for her, if she got cold, a basket with a bottle of wine and a couple glasses and some light fruit in it. He thought ahead a little bit and threw it together last minute, just in case things were going particularly well. A night time pick nick struck him as romantic.
