The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"I need a good image of the subject matter, you were the only thing sitting still enough that was attractive enough to stare at for several minutes."
Lo and behold, Elli's cheeks magically turned pink as she blushed prettily from Cafas' comment "Well thank you!" She said, turning as the credits began to roll to look at Cafas. "I liked the movie, especially the idea of Frankenstein's monster. Also I- Woah! Look at the time! This night really flew by. You know what they say about flight and fun, right Cafas?"
Elli sighed, and took another look at her watch. She could stay a bit longer, but not too much. She did have to go on patrol in the morning, after all. Well, Elli, She thought, It's now or never "Cafas," Elli said, unconsciously wringing her hands over one another with nervousness, "I was thinking, if you wanted to, that maybe you could come with me on Christmas Day, I'm planning on heading over to see the family. You could meet my brothers and my parents and there'd be food!" Ah, and she baited the hook with free food. Works like a charm, every time. Or at least, that's what she told herself.
Cafas' own brain had now turned against him, working with the hormones on devious plans. However Elli made offers of free food and company for Christmas day. He wasn't really one for Christmas, with the whole atheist thing, but food he could not turn down, especially not from an attractive young lady who may or may not have an interest in him. He inwardly did a little dance as he answered. "Sure, I'd love to, I mean, if you're sure it won’t be too much trouble." He had learned that line from T.V. it worked for them, it would work for him. If he was lucky there may be sport played. Cafas liked sport when it was played for fun, the rules were so much easier to understand.
'Yes, that and the idea of watching Elli run around interests you.'
There it was, his brain was back to usual, as was his almost constant internal chatter. He found it hard to not let it be spoken on occasion. In fact, he did speak it when he was by himself, it made his brain less crowded. Too many useless facts were stuffed up in his cranial region as it was, without his internal monologue having epiphanies every few days. At least his external monologue tended to be a bit more interested in fun things. Cafas stood and offered Elli a hand up, apparently it was late. he didn't consider any time before two in the morning late. But he tended to sleep past that in the afternoon anyway. His nocturnal habits were purely learned.
'Pity she has to leave. Probably has work in the morning.'
"Sure, I'd love to, I mean, if you're sure it won’t be too much trouble."
Elli smiled big, and inwardly she was doing the Tiger Woods fistpump. "No, no! No trouble at all. I'll meet you here at, say, eight?" Elli took Cafas' hand and allowed herself to be pulled up off of the couch. She then followed Cafas as they made their way back through the mansion to the lobby, where Elli donned her jacket and trailed after Cafas as he went outside.
The cab was waiting for her, as she had told it to be waiting at around that time. "Thanks for the dinner and movie, Cafas. I had a lot of fun." Elli stood there for a moment, akwardly, and then got in the cab, which drove off. Seeing Cafas just standing there on the sidewalk, however, Elli stopped the cab and got out just about ten or twenty feet down.
She walked back to Cafas, and grabbed both of his hands in her own. She leaned in on her tip-toes and planted a light peck on his cheek, saying "Just let me think it over, kay?" Then she smiled, and went back into the cab, which then took her on her journey back to her apartment and roommate, Susan.
Cafas watched the cab pull away smiling, the night had been hugely successful if he was to be frank. Then the cab stopped, his eyebrows pulled together and he took a step forward to see what was the matter. However before he could say a thing his brain lost its will to think or function momentarilly. He was left slightly dazed. She would think it over, she had kissed him, even if only lightly, and he had to wait till christmas to see her? So not fair. Completely oblivious to the cold or the snow now falling or the cars going past or the wind picking up ice crystals and smashing them against his skin he turned and wandered back to the door.
'Best day in a very long time.'
Something inside him sighed and fially decided it was time to accept some things, put them on a shelf and get on with life. He himself decided it was time to find more steel.
