The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"We are not going to Broadway are we."
The golden-haired girl who prided herself in being the brains of the operation (although those brains would have made a zombie starve), glanced back over her shoulder and nodded cautiously. "I thought you would figure it out." Susan took a deep breath. "I did. Although it took me some time to put the pieces together. Apart from being in the suburbs instead of downtown, well... I think having my wrists bound with a rosary and Brigitte dear and Molly dear pointing vials of... is that holy water?... at me was what gave it away." The two girls on her two sides did their best Crusader impression and didn't say a word. "Don't worry. We are going to someone who can help you." "Help me with what?" "Help you with getting rid of the demon." Susan blinked. Even with five times five senses she could never perceive the true depth of human foolishness. "You gotta be kidding me. What makes you think I am possessed?" "Besides your rude and unlogical behavior?" You are the one to talk, huh "I saw your eyes change color. It's not natural." Oh. That. Susan cursed silently at the school's policy of thou-shalt-not-wear-shades-under-our-roof-or-God-will-smite-thy-behind-ten-ways-from-Sunday. "And how do you know it is not just sorcery?" Goldilocks glanced back again. Worried. "Susan would never meddle with such an evil thing." "Sorcery has a parton saint, you know." Susan sighed "Never mind. Listen. I'll make it simple so you can understand: I. Am. Not. Possessed." "That's what a demon would say." "Do you chat with demons that often? Maybe you should introduce me. All right, let me put it this way: Jessica. You. Are. A. Bloody. Idiot." The blonde spun around on her heel and slapped Susan across the face. It tasted like blood. "Give me back my... er... roommate!" she shrieked, a bit uncertain, but very much devoted to the case. "Ow, you loony b***, that hurt!" Susan yelled back, and to her utter frustration, she snapped; the rest of the shrieking turned into angry flames of orange and red, and the beads of the broken rosary hit the ground in a rain of tiny ice-blue sounds. The three girls were yelling all the colors of the rainbow at her now; a hand fisted into her hair, and then they were dragging her down the street. Oh. So this is how it feels like to be a witch.
Pluto had gone good, he stepped away from his wicked ways, he cut down on the destruction, he stopped killing anything. He worked at a clinic that helped anyone, He was working hard, Really hard not to hate humans. But it was days like this that put him in the mind of crushing evil little girls. And not the one with the colorful eyes and the bound wrists. He had taken up Jogging in the suburbs; it was a subtle way to get others used to the sight of something dangerous doing something harmless. But that plan was aching to backfire as he heard the words of the distracted girls.
He was jogging and from a distance he was amused to think, what the school girls might think about his passing them, but as he came near, his brow furrowed. Closing on the girls as he heard the spotted racism, the exercising, and the classic witch hatred. He heard the term demon as he closed on the distracted group. If he could imagine the color of the tone that rumbled from his throat, it would be black. He put her "sorcery to its true source in a single thought.
He towered over the group as he came to a complete stop a few feet away. He had cut off his hair and shaved his goatee, but the devilish imagery would be hard pressed to be lost. His tail whipped back and forth in agitation, his red skin glistened as he had worked up a sweet. His Quadruple extra large jogging suit was the only thing that spoke of being out her to exercise. His left eye twitched before he spoke before both crimson eyes settled on them.
“You want a demon, turn around girls.” The growl came out of his throat and his fingers twitched. “I suggest you, run along before I ate your souls and ground your bones into dust.”the second a deadly whisper of a threat. he wanted to reach out and grab the girl that had a hand full of dark and tear the golden locks from her scalp, the little Bi...got.

The voice that washed over them was crimson and black, and in the momentary confusion of her troubled senses it smelled like smoke and brimstone, before her hearing snapped back to normal. She almost wished it didn't. The high-pitched screams were downright painful. Molly yanked her hand out of her hair, tearing out a fistful of it in panic before she backed away, just like the other two, and by the time Susan regained her balance and turned to see who came to the rescue, they were all running away. As if demons were on their heels. Susan looked up at the man before her. At first she thought the red skin was another trick of her vision... but it seemed quite real. "Interesting." she muttered, tilting her head in a weird angle to look into his face. Were the girls right about the demon after all?... Her eyes took on a blue tint as she looked him up and down. He smelled funny. Ochre with a hint of gray sweat, and a color she'd never ever seen... or heard... or smelled... before. Not natural. Barely real. Shaking her head to arrange her senses back to normal once again, the little witch planted her hands on her hips, and gave the demon a good, hard look. "Did I summon you?"
They were lucky, that there little rhymes with witch selves, ran like they did. He was lucky they ran, they were just kids... He released a huff of breath to try to wash the rage via his longs and his throat.
"Interesting."
"Did I summon you?"
"not in the way those little streetwalkers want you to believe, sorry if one of them was your friend, I didn't take the time to distinguish. but look at them run." he chuckled. " You can't believe everything someone tells you,Particularly people that are willing to pull your hair all the way down the road. I am Pluto, you want me to walk you home? "
He looked around to see if they should be turning around or walking strait. How do you tell someone they are a mutant, did she already figure it out? He wanted to give her a minute to gather herself any how.

Susan huffed, and ran a hand through her disheveled hair to regain some dignity. It was not an easy task after being pulled down the street by said hair, not to mention facing... what she had to face. "Please. They thought I was possessed by a demon. Do I look like someone who would believe that?" the corners of her mouth curled up "But they didn't need to tell me I had power, it's pretty much obvious." Folding her arms over her chest, she stared at the... person in front of her. "So. Pluto, right? If you are not a demon, then what are you? Because I can..." her eyes narrowed, trying to match the visual experience to the proper sense... then she gave up "... tell you are not just a normal human with a skin condition and a taste for mythological nicknames." She knew it was rude. She picked up that much in school. But damned if she was willing to carry polite conversation before finding out who - or what - she was dealing with. She was Not Stupid.
~~"Please. They thought I was possessed by a demon. Do I look like someone who would believe that?"
"I believed I was demon possesed, and becoming a devil, though it was my mother screaming it at the top of her lungs at me threw a mental ward glass wall." Ah, the hag died a horrible death by his younger sisters hands. Good times. Good guy to Pluto, good guy to Pluto, don't think that. eh, he'd work on it.
~~"But they didn't need to tell me I had power, it's pretty much obvious."
"mhmmm." he nodded to the girl pleased that she was accepting of it, and more logical than the seven of them had been at her age.
~~"So. Pluto, right? If you are not a demon, then what are you? Because I can..." "... tell you are not just a normal human with a skin condition and a taste for mythological nicknames."
"We my dear, are Mutants. X gene positive...Texas tea...black gold. Well, the first two any how the last two are oil and part of the Beverly hillbillies theme." He stretched, and laughed again as he noted the girls still hadn't stopped running or looked back. " I might need to go with you where ever they are running to explain that you can't summon demon's. OR if you prefer to convince them that you can." his grin became impish.

"We my dear, are Mutants. X gene positive..."
Susan slowly tilted her head the other way. Her brain skipped the rest of the speech because it didn't make a lick of sense, but that first part... she clicked her tongue, wrinkling her nose. It tasted sincere. Clean. Even for a guy who used the term 'mental ward' a sentence earlier, not clarifying which side of the window he was on. Susan filed that for later inspection. Her eyes went white blank for a moment, and the footsteps were clear and easily distinguishable from the surrounding silence; she could also sense the girls turning a corner, squealing in panic. A smile played on her lips as her vision returned. "We don't need to follow them, I doubt it that they know where they are going. We are supposed to be on a field trip, and although I wouldn't be surprised if burning witches was on the St. Joan's curriculum... well, I think it was their own little idea. Don't worry, they will get back to the school just fine. And about your offer, as tempting as it is... do you really want to go into explanations with the grown-up versions of those?" she nodded towards the direction where the girls disappeared. Stepping forward, she extended a hand, a bit awkwardly - this was an area where she was not so sure about herself. Social interaction. Even between a witch who was not a witch, and a demon who was not a demon. "Susan Hyde. Nice to meet you, Pluto."
~~"We don't need to follow them, I doubt it that they know where they are going. "Actually yeah, I kind of do." he smirked. " Though, it might just make the situation worse."
"Susan Hyde. Nice to meet you, Pluto."
"Nice to meet you too, I suppose your right Susan. Summoning me seems like about the same level of nonsense that typically comes out of their mouths. "
"Oh, field trip? where ya going today?" He held out a card to the young woman that stated his name, his number and the Iris Clinic.
"I work with a mutant run clinic that serves the community equally. So, if you need any help I can probably get you where you need to go. If of course you want, or need to go anywhere at all."

Susan shrugged as she took the card from him. Since when did demon-like mutants carry cards anyway?... "We were going to see some stupid musical. After they got the demon out of me, I suppose. I should be grateful to you for saving me the boredom." Reading the card and listening to his explanation, she couldn't help but feel more than a little bit lost. "I work with a mutant run clinic that serves the community equally. So, if you need any help I can probably get you where you need to go. If of course you want, or need to go anywhere at all." She nodded slowly. "I guess I should... go somewhere. I'd prefer not to go back to the school just yet..." Looking up at Pluto, her eyes narrowed; she fought back half a switch as the strange opalescent color started to swirl around his form once again. She blinked the vision away. Maybe later. "Um. Do you... could you take me somewhere where we could discuss this whole mutant issue?... If you have time for me, that is." she added a bit awkwardly. She didn't really know how to talk to a strange man, let alone a strange man with red skin and a tail, called Pluto. That was never included in the Etiquette curriculum. Too bad.
~~"We were going to see some stupid musical. After they got the demon out of me, I suppose. I should be grateful to you for saving me the boredom."
“Oh MAN! And I thought I was sparing you from a few wicked little B…rats, but oh no, I have saved you from much more this day.” It was blasphemey on broadway. “ I saved you from a musical. I think I should be knighted.”
A couple walked cautiously by the pair, the only reason they hadn’t fled in terror was the fact that he was speaking to a youg woman, Pluto snapped his finger at them and requested. “Knight me!” the couple hurried on.
~~"I guess I should... go somewhere. I'd prefer not to go back to the school just yet..."
Pluto nodded and glanced around to see what was around them and found the first gressy place in sight, and revealed his second need to jog , it was a pass time to devour the food of new york. Pizza, deep dish.
"Um. Do you... could you take me somewhere where we could discuss this whole mutant issue?... If you have time for me, that is."
“absolutely! We can talk about it anywhere, but there is a pizza place right there. And Learning good news like this, deserves a bit of celebration. That card has my number, I will always have time, if I don’t answer, leave a message and I will get back to you with the quickness.”

“I saved you from a musical. I think I should be knighted.” Susan's lips curled into a smile as the couple hurried away; there was a definite aura of fright around them, made up from sharp intakes of breath, cold hands and faces, and muttered prayers against the devil. Against which devil - the big red one or his new friend with the pitch black eyes - they did not specify. "I'm sorry, I cannot knight you" she sighed, blinking her extra senses away once again "I am not a certified lady yet. Not to mention I've never been noble. And pizza sounds good." She caught up to him, almost running to keep the pace. She realized she felt more comfortable walking down the street with Pluto than she'd ever felt with her classmates. Not to mention safe. "So, you are saying that the same gene is responsible for my synesthesia and you looking like someone out of the bad boys of the Bible?" she asked with scientific curiosity "How common is it?..."
~~"I'm sorry, I cannot knight you" I am not a certified lady yet. Not to mention I've never been noble. And pizza sounds good."
“maybe I will write the queen of England to ensure she knows about the pair of travesties, you not being noble and I not being Sir Pluto the Red.” He took a whiff of the pizza filled air and couldn’t help but groan a little bit, how was he so hungry just because of a scent?
“Pizza, yes. The pizza there is amazing.”
"So, you are saying that the same gene is responsible for my synesthesia and you looking like someone out of the bad boys of the Bible?" she asked with scientific curiosity "How common is it?..."
Pluto went from talk of knights to a pirates accent with out missing a step.“yar, not just any gene, Las. An X gene, X marks the spot where treasure be buried. And you and I dear we’ve got the treasure blood.”
“Erhmm. Sorry I should take this a bit more serious, you don’t know about this stuff and it is your life. Yes, when an x gene is present and active, it has wild effects on wht would have been a humans genes. Its effects are seeming random, you for instance have the sweet eye color thing going, and I have the most permanent and serious sun burn known to the world. I am willing to bet though that there is more to you the prismatic eyes just as there is much more to me then red flesh and a tail.” He paused. And then answered the last question. “It is hard to say how common it is, after all there are plenty that have no physical tell whether they are a mutant or not. But I’d say one of a hundred, but that’s a guess.”
He opened the door to the pizzeria and if he thought it smelled good in the street it was heavenly in the shop. “What kind of pie do you eat?” He would be ordering a meat lovers pizza for himself, and a large drink, and whatever she wanted for her self.

Pluto was entertaining. Susan would have never though she could have fun minutes after she found out she had a genetic mutation and was rescued from exorcism by someone who looked like a demon. All right, so her mind was running in circles now. Just great. "I am willing to bet though that there is more to you the prismatic eyes just as there is much more to me then red flesh and a tail.” That sounded positively interesting. Mysterious, even. Susan waited with the question till they got through ordering - she barely had any past experience with junk food. Lucky for her, the smell of the slices provided more than enough information about the taste to decide on. With that part (ham and pineapple pizza and coke) done, she followed Pluto to a table. "Technically, my eyes are not prizmatic. It's just the side effect of synestesia." she explained as she poked the pizza with knife and fork "It's the only visible sign of my... mutation...?" she was not sure about the term. Grammatically, yes. Really? No. "So, what else can you do?" she asked, looking at him.
On large meat and fruit for the girly and a pizza covered in fallen beasts for the man….that sounded bad, but as tragic as the truth was, it tasted too good to be denied. Coke for her and cherry Coke for him.
~~"Technically, my eyes are not prizmatic. It's just the side effect of synestesia."
“Ah, I meant in the high color, brilliant sense, and side effects can be my favorite part.” He grinned.
~~"It's the only visible sign of my... mutation...?"
He nodded encouragingly. my mutation acceptance was the first step to something something.
~~"So, what else can you do?"
“I’m too strong. I can move anything you put in front of me.” He glanced at a disappointed kid in front of one of the scam claw machines. “ I’ll give you a small example.”
He hoped up from his chair and went over to the young girl and stopped her from putting another dollar in the weak clawed machine. He put a hand on the machine and shook it much like one would try to move a ball and cup game. The stuffed animals popped into the air and into the chute that gave them to the players. The little chute held about half of the stuffed animals. The girl stood stunned staring at him just as she had been the whole time. Pluto grinned at her and put a large hand on top of her head and mess up her hair play fully and walked away.
He set back down at the table again and smiled. “I can do that with anything…literally anything. I could have thrown that spoiled little blond to the moon.” He pictured it for a moment and the smile stuck a bit longer.
“ How about you? If the color change is a side dish, what’s the main course?”

Susan watched, tilting her head curiously as Pluto walked over to the kid and helped her to some extra stuffed toys. It wasn't an impressive way of demonstrating his strength, but she suspected anything more violent would have gotten them kicked out of the diner. She wouldn't have blamed them for it either. “I can do that with anything…literally anything. I could have thrown that spoiled little blond to the moon." And a smile. Susan returned it. She had a very similar image in her mind. “How about you? If the color change is a side dish, what’s the main course?” "As I said..." she stopped there as she realized not everyone would be familiar with the scientific term for her ability. The fact that she looked it up doesn't mean it was well known to other mutants too. "... I have the ability to..." she was trying to keep Latin out of the definition "... switch my five senses with each other. When my eyes change color, that means I am doing something else with them besides seeing." she was kind of proud of herself, being able to explain it "I can see sounds and taste colors and... all the other combinations. It takes a lot of concentration. Also, sometimes I just.... switch without noticing it." She stopped, wondering about a way to illustrate what she just said, but she had to realize it wasn't easy. "I would demonstrate it if I could, but from the outside it really isn't all that interesting."
