The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

His eyes saw everything, facial expressions, small tweaks that she might have given off and her eye contact. Sam reached his hand up to her face with the hand that was previously on her back and reached up to the side of her head his fingers brushed the hair from her face and in turn his as their noses and then foreheads touched. ”Your lying…” Sam said as his finger trailed down to her cheek after she let out a weak sigh.
”Wouldn’t be a good boyfriend if I couldn’t tell when your lying would?” he said going on his gut feeling that she knew more than she cared to tell, and no this time he wouldn’t let her change the subject. ”You can tell me anything…” he said as he tilted his head back to press his lips against hers.
”Something is bothering you so spill…” continued Sam as his hand laced with hers as his thumb motioned in a circle across her hand.
Alexandra arched her neck slightly as Sam’s finger trailed upon her cheek while the rest of her body relaxed completely. Her mind was at war… One side didn’t want to let Sam know. If he didn’t know it by now why share this with him? The other promised her that once she would speak, her conscience would feel lighter.
Lips were locked together and right now, she didn’t want for it to end… ever. Guilt slipped away from her mind, the world outside slipped away as well. If they were kissing, their lips were too busy to even consider talking. But it did end. Alexandra sighed, eyes opening now, head rising slightly as she watched Sam. She wanted to feel free from the guilt, she was desperate to be liberated… and she started to speak.
“Sam, do you have any idea why this Registration Act started?” It was more of a rhetorical question anyway, for she didn’t let Sam answer. If he would have known then he certainly wouldn’t have asked what was wrong with her. “A few months ago, a senator was supposedly killed. He was running for president and he was a fiery supporter of a Registration Act. His death was blamed on mutants… they became threats again and… and, oh well, the death of that senator started everything...” A long story made short, of course with some minor details shoved under the rug. Yeah, Sam said she could tell him anything but...
Alexandra took a deep breath as the toughest part of the story followed. “His name was Tiberiu Kettler.”

Shaking his head quickly admitting he wasn’t told the reason of the registration act had started. He wish he did but there wasn’t much to go on other than talk from people who were mutant haters, in Sam’s opinion far to biased to be able to be a decent source of information.
A blank stare was all he could give her, a blank stare and his jaw hung ajar for a moment as he blinked again, ”Kettler?” Sam asked curiously knowing full well whose name it belonged to. ”Your last name is Kettler, isn’t it?” Sam asked knowing that it was a rhetorical question, for he like her didn’t give her time to respond, ”Your father was killed?” Sam asked sympathetic as he let go of Alex’s hand and then wrapped her in a fierce hug, he assumed that most people would be distraught when mentioning that their father was killed.
Once the embrace ended Sam’s hands trailed up to Alex’s head where he left them and then brought her lips into his before rubbing her cheeks with his thumbs, ”You alright?” Sam asked, worried that she was blaming herself for her fathers deeds.
Alexandra kept her face emotionless as recognition came to Sam. Only when she heard the word ‘father’, her body tensed for one short moment. Then, closing her eyes and letting the air to be exhaled slowly out of her lungs, she let Sam do whatever he wanted with her. She accepted the hug and the kiss but her response to them was barely visible. Only when his fingers moved against her cheek, she responded by opening her eyes. Again, not much of an emotion in any of her gestures.
“Yes, my father.” A sour taste came into her mouth when she spoke, the same as when she had spread his ashes on the sea’s shore. It tasted bad the pretense of having a father. “And my mother.” Voice became colder and distant as the images of two bloody bodies appeared in the back of her mind. When she’d caused every little injury on their bodies they had long ceased to be her parents. She sighed. Maybe it wasn’t such a good idea to talk about this. Alexandra lowered her head to the point where her forehead rested on top of Sam’s again and with heavy breaths she added “That’s why I left after your birthday.”
Alexandra fell silent. She knew that she was blatantly ignoring Sam’s question if she was alright. She wasn’t… and it was not because of the reasons Sam thought of.

Eyes now wide and Sam now up far two curious to sleep despite his lack of rest over the past few days Sam was far to invested into the topic they were talking about. ”That's why you left…” Sam whispered to himself no longer irritated that she left without saying anything the way Leila had left him. ”and your mother?” asked Sam his emotions feeding off Alex’s lack of.
Hand running from her face to the back of her head and holding it gently Sam turned his head and sat up so he could hug Alex properly, it probably wouldn’t do much but he always felt better after a good hug even if he would never admit it. His hand trailing down from her head and now placed on her shoulder Sam’s other arm tightened around her back as he gave her a strong embrace his head tilting down so he could kiss Alex on the head, ”I’m sorry…” he paused as his head lifted again, ”I can’t imagine how hard that has to be for you…”
Sam rocked back and forth with Alex in his arms as he silently tried to comfort her, he never was the best at the comforting in this situation seeing as he didn’t really have parents but if he did and had to go through this he was pretty sure he wouldn’t be handling it as well as Alex was handling it right now. ”You need anything?” he asked as he kissed the top of her head again hoping there was something he could do to comfort her.
Alexandra continued to be silent… her heart felt like a weight had been suddenly lifted of it. Somewhere behind her blue eyes, their reunion after his birthday was being played. The fact that she had disappeared so suddenly had not been forgotten easily and Sam proved it to her when he’d told her he feared that she’d disappear again… and now, now that he knew the reason of her take off without a single warning, the hope of him understanding that she wasn’t lying when she’d said she wouldn’t leave again, grew.
Just like a flower enjoyed the first touch of the Sun in the morning, Alexandra enjoyed Sam’s offer to comfort her. She wrapped her arms around his neck and rested her head on his shoulder, blue eyes closing, mind sliding into a comforting nothingness. No image of blood upon her parents’ mutilated bodies. No image of her father laughing at her while fire danced around him. Sam had chased her ghosts away for now and for that she was grateful.
He kissed the top of her head again and asked her if she needed anything… Did she? Alexandra rested her head on his shoulder once again, hiding herself from the world outside the hotel’s room once again. “I need to stop this.” Her voice came out as a whisper, but a whisper loaded with demand. Not a demand for Sam but for herself.

It was quite, the sweet sound of nothingness filled the hotel room as Sam held Alex in his arms. She didn’t need anything at least what she said didn’t make a ton of sense. ”You need to stop what?” Sam asked his rocking slowed as he thought that she meant his rocking and his hugging her. Her arms however told a different story as the wrapped around his neck.
Eying the clock behind him through the reflection of the mirror Sam sighed slightly wishing that time could slow or better yet stop till they were done talking. Still curious to what Alex had to stop Sam asked quietly, ”You can tell me anything Al,” he said as he shifted backwards so he could inch up on the bed.
It was late and he had to get up early and if he was tired he wouldn’t bee much help, something that wouldn’t be good for a mission as serious as border hopping. Continuing the rocking once he was at the top of the bed Sam figured he could just rock her to sleep and himself in turn.
“I want to stop everything.” Alexandra whispered back into his ear. The Camps, the war, the open season for mutants… everything. With a sigh, the molecule manipulator ignored his second line. No, she couldn’t tell him everything so she chose to be silent.
Sam started to move toward the top of the bed… she knew that he was tired… she knew that he needed rest. Her hand moved slightly behind his back and she glanced at her watch. When Sam would be sleeping, she would get back to work. The luxury of rest was something she couldn’t allow herself yet.
Alexandra forced her breathings to slow down and sound even as if she was sleeping. Her body relaxed completely, her whole weight now being left to be handled by Sam. Eyes remained closed as the rocking motion continued. She would have loved to let herself go to sleep but she didn’t. Her brain wasn’t allowed to rest even for a moment as she waited for Sam to fall asleep.

(OOC: Dream is italicized)
Nodding his head slightly as his head lay back against the headboard Sam yawned and then continued rocking causing his own hypnotic rhythmus to put him in a sleep like status for a moment as Alex whispered again. ”I want to stop everything too…” trailed off Sam as he let out another jaw wrenching yawn. As he tilted his head down to watch Alex fall asleep in his arms.
It took about thirty seconds for the rocking to stop as Sam leaned back and let out a small grunt as his head slammed against the head board however despite the loud clunk Sam was all to ready to roll over and go back to sleep to dream a dream of a better life one where the registration didn’t exist.
The sun rose as the bed jumped as he felt himself be shaken awake as a pair of smiling faces looked back at him, one was a shaggy haired boy and the other was a small runty looking girl both missing a tooth in various spots while both chanted, “Daddy, Daddy wake up Mama made us breakfast! She said for s to get your lazy but out of bed!” Sam opened his eyes slowly and smiled as he snatched both kids and wrapped them up in a hug as he pulled them into the bed clinging to them tight. ”That doesn’t sound like something mom would do!” kissing both kids on the cheek Sam smiled an released them and watched them wave him out of the room.
Rising out of bed Sam looked down at a pair of feet that were his but looked older and more worn than how they usually looked his chest was the next distracting thing that he noticed, covered in more hair than usual. Shaking his head and getting to his feet Sam chased after his two children whose faces were familiar but not and names he could not remember. As he made it to the kitchen a woman’s voice greeted his as the sun behind her made her face and defining features impossible to identify.
His heart beat faster as he wished to see the woman’s face for her voice sounded like that of an angels. Eyeing the spread of food on the table he felt his stomach growl as he smiled to the woman who was now kissing him on the cheek followed by a warm embrace. His eyes for some reason started to water as he had decided even if this was a dream it was the happiest he had ever been in his entire life.
As Sam continued to sleep a smile on his face appeared as he said, ”Morning honey…” quietly his eyes still shut tightly as he mumbled a bit more. As the dream continued a single tear dropped down his face as the mumbling continued.
Alexandra counted almost 30 seconds until Sam fell asleep with her in hir arms. Sighing, she opened her eyes, watching him as he slept. She didn’t move, not even an inch for a few more minutes, making sure that Sam had slipped into the worlds of dreams completely. When she considered that her movement won’t disturb his sleep she slowly detangled herself from him. Another sigh left her lips as she slid away from his arms.
She glanced around the rooms in search of his keys… she was planning to come back so Sam would wake up next to her in the morning and there was no need to use molecular manipulation to enter the room now. Blue eyes found the keys and with silent steps she moved to retrieve them. Placing them in her pocket, she walked to the bed again, and lowered herself to Sam in order to kiss the top of his head. “Sleep well, Sam.” she whispered. Seconds later she was leaving his room.
~*~
Alexandra let out a loud yawn as she exited her room. Only five minutes ago she had reached the hotel and hurried to her room to leave her jacket and go back to Sam’s room and get some sleep. Any second she spent standing up felt like torture. Her body refused to listen, her eyes refused to stay open and her legs felt like they were made from jelly. The molecule manipulator yawned again as she patted her pockets to find the keys to Sam’s room. Once she had them in her hand, blue eyes narrowed in the attempt to get the key into the lock and open the door. Who would have thought that opening a door would be so difficult?
Like a robot, she pushed the door open then close and walked tiredly toward the table where she had found the room keys.
”Morning honey.”
Alexandra gasped as she turned around instantaneously. Had she been so careless that she made Sam wake up? Was he mocking her calling her honey? Blue eyes narrowed again, this time glancing toward the bed. “Sam?” Her voice was barely a whisper. With small steps she walked to Sam, his mumbling now audible but impossible to understand. “You’re dreaming…” she whispered again as she took a seat on the bed.
A small smile appeared on her face as her hand rose to his face, fingers brushing lightly against his temple and traveled down to his cheek. Moisture touched her fingertips and a puzzled look appeared on her face. “And you’re crying?” Tears of happiness? Alexandra sighed as she leaned forward, lightly pressing her lips against his. “I hope you dream of a better world…” she whispered against his slightly parted lips then, closing her eyes she put her head on his chest.
She fell asleep in less than 30 seconds, brown haired head resting against the cotton of Sam’s shirt, a hand under her head, the other on his.
