The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Fade had been tossing and turning in her bed, not wanting to wake up, she hated waking up 'early'. However, no matter how comfortable she got, no matter how long she relaxed and kept her eyes shut, she could not doze back off. Reluctantly, she rose from her bed and walked out of her room, still in her pajamas.
Yes, she was wearing her dancing pants again, her most comfartable, leopard print pants. However, she wore a black cami as a top and her red hair fell lightly on her shoulders. Without any rush, she walked down the hallway, running her claw through the wall without leaving a trace. A yawn escaped her and she shook her head and smiled as it, in a way, woke her up.
After the yawn, she decided to go to the kitchen, or at least try and get there. She was still tired and did not understand why she could not just stay asleep. Fade never had a problem with sleeping, maybe something was wrong and she subconsciously knew that there was something other that sleep that she needed at the moment. She paused as the thought trailed through her mind and she shook it away with a chuckle, ludicrous.
Raphael left the dining room. He felt… well, not exactly good per say, but certainly better. He had people he felt he could rely on to ensure that he did not merely ‘disappear’, outside of Jenny. Jenny was someone he most definitely wanted to protect from his darker side. The side really only three had seen. Of those three, only two had seen him at work in person, and only one was not currently comatose. In some ways Jenny was a bad girl, and he knew it, but certainly not to the extent that he was a ‘bad boy’.
As his thoughts drifted towards Jenny, he suddenly wondered just how to find her. It was still early, he could tell. While the discussion over ‘breakfast’ had taken some amount of time, it had not really lasted all that long. Even his clothes were still significantly damp from his romp in the rain the previous night. Given that, Raphael simply did not expect to find her outside of her room… a place he was not entirely sure of the specific location. The general gist of where her room was easy: the female dormitories, it was the specifics that made it difficult to find, and while he could have great fun knocking on every door until he found her, he figured it would not be the best policy.
Fortunately enough he rounded a corner and started down the hallway towards a stairwell, right in front of Jenny. Had he not been quite so absorbed in his thoughts of other things, such as finding her room, he might have noticed her. Though, as it stood, he merely kept walking absentmindedly, letting his mind clear. He would need it a near blank slate for the next day.
Fade's ears picked up a sound, familiar footsteps heading her way. She turned her head to the side to see who the sounds belonged to. It was Raph. Although he didn't seem to notice her. At first, she hid her face as if it was a game and as he walked past her, she turned invisible and climbed onto the wall. Then she trailed behind him and saw that he went straight for her room. Wonder why he passed me just to go to my room? Must be something on his mind. She pondered.
A smirk crossed her face and she could not help herself. She reached out her hand and gave him a little push. Well, it was a little push for him but it took alot of her strength since his metalic...blood? made him much heavier than normal. After the small push, she shot back against the wall and scuttled to the ceiling, hoping that she didn't catch him too much off guard as to turn around and hit her in the face. Better safe than sorry, so she was perfectly fine retreating to the ceiling to possibly try it again, with her foot, as long as she knows he won't do something regretful and find her without realizing that it was Fade. That would not be too much fun.
((no problemo. He’s had his bones laced with adamantium as well as a couple plates have been ‘installed’ to further protect vital spots… replacing all of his life-blood would kill even him))
Raphael stopped as he felt Jenny’s hand press against his shoulder, though to him it felt more like a tap than a push. The natural reaction for most people is to turn around and see who it was that had tapped them on the shoulder, and in this instance, Raphael was no different. He turned about and gave a quick scan over the hallway without seeing her.
Not seeing anyone, and figuring it was a mutant with the ability to turn invisible -- he had met two personally and assumed another could well have come to the mansion -- turned around to let them have their fun and continued his venture down the hallway. He passed Jenny’s unmarked door, as he had yet to go to her room, or ask where it was. He stopped as Jenny’s foot nudged his shoulder, and he spun about again, only this time faster. Not that turning about faster would let him spot someone invisible any easier than if he had turned slowly around. He closed his eyes for a moment, and then opened them as they assumed the green glowing haze that came with his ‘life-aura’ sight. He scanned the hallway, ignoring the couple of bodies within a room on the right, and fixated his gaze on the ceiling and Jenny’s aura. “Heyyou.”
Fade smirked as he did not react violently, only turned again and continued to, apparently, look for Jenny. She she touched him with her foot. He then did something odd with his eyes and they turned green. He looked up and saw her, stating that he saw her.
"Oh, you're no fun." She complained jokingly as she let go of the ceiling with her feet, swung them down, then let go with her hands and dropped to the ground gracefully, all the while turning visible again. "Couldn't get back to sleep, even though it's too early. What's your excuse?" She asked, looking at him through her grey eyes...well, now they're black, now they're red, well, I'll just stop following her eye color.
Raphael shrugged some. “I’m typically an early riser,” he said. “Though last night I didn’t sleep, handful of things on my mind.” He closed his eyes and gave his head a small shake as he ‘turned off’ his life aura vision. “Speaking of which, what’s on your mind? I’ve not seen your eyes shift quite so rapidly before, gotta be something going on behind them.”
He shifted and pressed his back against a door, inconsequently it happened to be her door, though he did not know this. Though he did briefly consider moving, seeing as if someone opened the door, he would likely go tumbling into the room. He watched Fade while waiting for her response, biding his time before spilling his own handful of beans.
"Not much going on in this thing." She smiled after poking her head and making a funny face. It was too early and if you ever caught Fade when she was this tired, she was actually wide awake, yet tired. It is complex. "Just thinking about the normal stuff. You know, about now how missions are gonna be considering how we're X-Men and not just tag-alongs."
She then saw that he was not looking the same, well, maybe she was seeing things but she knew when something was on other people's minds. What those thoughts were, she had no clue and guessed they were the same as her's, but asked just in case. "What about you, got something going on behind your, well, now normal colored eyes?"
“Looking for your room and wondering which one it is,” he said. “Thinking about you and stuff, I’m not all that concerned with the missions and what not… we’re very capable on our own and now we’ve got others to watch our backs and the same to do for them.”
The training had taught him that much the other day; though he still felt Fade could use to take a couple lessons from him. He smiled at her anyways, and certainly looked forward to providing those lessons well before an actual mission with real danger could come along. He hmmed softly, judging the moment and chose to let her know he would be out of the mansion for a couple days. “I’ve gotta run into town tomorrow, I’ll be gone for a day or so. Just wanted to let you know so you didn’t get worried not finding me ‘round.”
She smiled as he stated that he was looking for her room. "Well, ya found it." She smirked as she pointed to the door he was leaning on. "What do you have to do in town?" Curious, yes, as she should be. Curiousity compliments her character and she wanted to know why her boyfriend was not to be at the mansion for a couple of days.
"Oh! I didn't even say good morning!" She blushed in a forgetful embarassment before she leaned in and kissed him. Following her kiss, she stated "Good morning." With a small chuckled.
Raphael smiled at the light kiss she gave him, and the knowledge she bestowed. “Thank you, it is a good morning. ‘Least now, and I now am able wake you properly.” He smiled and gestured to the door he was leaning against.
“Just some unfinished business,” he said honestly. Though he suspected his less than elaborate answer would draw more questions from her. “A darker portion of my life that I need to wrap up and cut-off, something I would rather you did not get involved with.” He half expected her tiredness to let this roll right off of her.
“Would you like a massage to wake up with?” he asked, smiling and hoping she would not inquire deeper to his business, or even worse, demand to go with him. He could see the fight between her and Deathstar building now, and he could imagine the disgust of her seeing him possibly kill when it was not even self defense. “Whatcha say?”
"Wait, wait, the darker portion? Didn't you cut that off when you came here and did not go back? How would going back to face it really make it go away when it has not been here since you came?" She asked. Why would he want to go back to his past to cut-it off? It was already cut off, there was no more cutting left, or at least, that's how Fade saw it. "God, now I'm confusing myself."
She acknowledged the offer for a massage, but now she was curious and the thought a massage seemed somewhat less appealing than it normally did, especially since the ones that Raph gave her were so good. Then again, she never had anyone else massage her.
Raphael frowned a little bit at her comments as he opened the door to her room and backed into it. He stood by as she passed him and closed the door behind him and gestured towards her bed, mulling over what she had just said. It did not sound like the sleep talking, even though he more than half hoped it was. "I thought I had," He said weakly. He wanted her to understand more than anything. "I thought I had Jenny. But the other day I gotta letter, don't ask me how 'e found me here, I don't know, that reminded me of an agreement I made when I left."
It sounded stupid to him, the sense of honor he was about to try and explain. "Lay down hun, on your tummy. Would you like a full back massage?" He asked, really wanting nothing more than to lighten the mood and enjoy the rest of the morning with her, not really explain himself... again.
"I'm a man of my word," he started. "And I gave my word to go back one last time..." he thought he sounded stupid. He knew she likely did not want him to go, but was saying it out loud that he was leaving anyways, even if it were only a day or two. He knew he would return unharmed and likely in better shape than he had left. He, however, did not know how to express this in words to her. "So... I have turned over a new leaf here, no longer that dark personage of my past... But I do carry my past with me and with that past comes the part of me that won't break my word... you know?" He asked, looking down at her, then abruptly changed the subject. "It's easier to give a back massage to a bare back, do you mind?"
((also sending this over to Fade's Room thread... Raph's so disorganized at times....))
