The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

>>“Yeah, I could totally do that. Sounds like a plan.”
"Great," Shin replied with a smile. "Next time, we can do something a bit more interesting than rolling. You seem like you're getting that down alright. (Though keep practicing it)." Next time, they could tackle some different kinds of falls, and maybe he could explain some of the basics of the lower levels of jujitsu. Shin nodded understandingly as she said how long she'd been running.
"Alright. Jogging's a great thing to do. I usually try and go out every morning. My morning jog with Thor. Keeps him happy, keeps me happy. Sometimes, it helps to find someone to jog with. A 'jogging buddy'. It helps me keep up the habit, and gives me some motivation. It's also good if you're easily bored by running around alone. Gives you someone to talk to. I've also got Sam." They'd gone on a few runs since Shin arrived at the mansion. Weighted training runs, of course. He didn't think Twyla would be into training like a sayain. Then again, who knew? "If you're curious about other types of martial arts, Sam also teaches. Maybe, we could team up for a training session some time." Definitely an idea. He'd have to talk to Sam about it.
That was everything, though. "Aside from those ideas, I've got nothing more to add. Today's session's over. See you next week."

“Okay, sounds good.” Twyla made the silent promise to herself to practice rolling a million times before practice the following Wednesday...or at least a few hundred times. It wouldn’t be too hard to find a place to practice, she’d just have to make sure she had a soft place to land. It would be a good idea to practice, and to get some books on martial arts from the library to join the small legion of knowledge scattered in piles around her bed (she loved the mansion’s library). It’d be a good idea to be at least a little prepared for the next session.
Getting a running buddy sounded like a good idea and so did maybe learning some other tidbits from another teacher. She told him as such. “I’ll have to find someone to wake up early everyday...”Her mind reeled with her lack of possibilities–new kids were always showing up at the Mansion, eventually she’d find someone who tolerated her enough to jaunt about with her everyday. “I’m open to anything anyone has to teach me, so I’d be willing to work with the two of you.” Twyla was being honest and her tone didn’t sound fakey when she spoke. She didn’t know what she was doing and to reach her goals she needed the understanding she lacked–it made sense that she let herself be open.
“Alright. Thank you so much, Shin.” She gave him one of her better smiles. “See ya later!” A wave. And with that Twyla walked out of the strange Danger Room and into the hallway that somehow seemed alien after the new room. Blocking, fulcrum, non-fulcrum, escaping, striking. To the library then!
