The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Raina sat with her head propped against Luke Jacob's shoulder while rifling through travel brochures. She was still quite in shock that they were on their way to Australia of all places, but also in a bit of shock that there was another group of mutants like her. "It's weird to think there are others like me. I met a fish boy once but it wasn't quite the same." she commented to Luke while scanning through a few pages about the great Barrier Reef. "It would probably to meet someone else who was blind and used sonar huh? I wonder if your sonars would cancel each other out?" she giggled.
Things weren't exactly back to normal between Luke and Raina. She'd been constantly trying to dodge Rupert after doing her best to make sure Luke believed and understood she no longer had feelings for him. Still she didn't want to hurt either men. Things had been a bit awkward but she was glad that at least when they weren't on the same page they were both trying to be.
"Im glad Dr. Grey needed us. I hope we don't run into any french mind controllers this time around.." she said nuzzling into Luke's arm. "I am also afraid of tarantulas, poison snakes, sharks, scorpions, jellyfish..." she continued on in that manner for a few moments. "So you better protect me."

While his beautiful red haired girlfriend was looking through brochure after brochure, Luke was just relaxing. Her head was leaning against his shoulder while his own head was leaning back against the seat cushion with his eyes closed and a contented smile on his face. Sure, things between the two of them might not have been back to where they used to be but it was deffinately an improvement from what they had been dealing with over the past few weeks.
"Meeting another blind mutant would deffinately be different." Luke replied with a soft chuckle, "But, with that sort of concentration of similar mutations, do you think it has something to do with their environment? Maybe something there is encouraging their mutations to manifest in this certain way?"
It was an interesting puzzle and Luke was happy to be dealing with a relatively easy subject. He was also happy to be on a trip where he wouldn't really need to be working. Raina had been the one sent out on the investigation and he was just along for the ride. There would be no board meetings, no late night business dinners, or anything else to interupt them!
"Hmmm... with the area we're going to, sounds like I just need to wrap you up inside a giant bubble to keep you safe!" Luke laughed before pressing a kiss against Raina's short hair, "I'm sure you already knew that Australia has one of the highest shark populations of anywhere in the world!"

Raina nodded "I like sharks. I hate their image and what people do to them. But... they're a little scary. As a human they'll bite me and realize their mistake. as a fish... they'll come back for seconds." she teased. "But I'm excited. The time change will take a bit to get used to but Dr. Grey picked a great place for us to stay. There's a few other professionals there too who have been trying to gather information... but I think they need someone to be the bridge and I guess that someone is me. Who knew my mutation could be more than just aquarium tricks."
she gave a yawn and nuzzled in closer to Luke. "Im going to try and get some shut-eye to beat the jet lag. Wake me up when we start to land?" she pressed a quick kiss to his lips before getting cozy.
ooc: feel free to continue on, or if you're comfortable make a landing post

Luke smiled as he felt Raina lean in closer and after a few moments her breathing evened out as she apparently drifted off to sleep. Leaning back into the cushions of his seat Luke relaxed a little bit more and ran through what little he knew about Australia.
"The Land Down Under", known for its Kangaroos and Koalas out in the country. It was a thriving tourist country with lots of vacation hot spots including the Great Barrier Reef and all the 'unofficial' as well as 'legel' nude beaches. Animal life thrived in the nutrient rich waters around the island and their stringent laws protected it as a natural resource.
"Australia... who would have thought." Luke mused as he settled in for his own nap, "We're turning into world travelers."

The one great thing about sleeping on a flight is that the time races by. The bad thing is the strange aches and pains you get in your neck and back from sleeping in positions your not accustomed to. But even the aches and pain could be overlooked when the destination was so exciting.
With a bag slung over his shoulder, his girlfriend on his arm, and one of the most exotic locations in front of him, Luke felt like the luckiest man in the world as he walked away from the plane. This was probably as close to paradise as it got.
