The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Predator loved this feeling. He would never admit it, but this was his escapism. Some turned to tobacco, some to booze, some to alchohol, but when Predator was feeling down, he took a stroll through the rooftops of New York. He leapt from one roof onto the side of a much taller building, his bronze claws digging into nicks in the steel between the windows. He began to scale the building quickly, racing up the side until he reached the top. He paused then, just atking in the sights. He truly did love that city, more than he ever had loved any person. The city, it didn't have a mind, no emotion, it wasn't evil, or good, or angry, it just was. It doesn't hurt you, it doesn't let you down, it's just a reflection of yourself. New York was the most perfect mirror in the world, and what it showed Predator was beautiful. There were only a few small flaws: humans.
Predator dismissed the thought. He didn't want to think about it at the moment, and to distract himself he leapt off of the building. He fell for a few seconds, then snagged himself on a protrusion off of a nearby roof. As he pulled himself onto it, he saw that it was an eagle statue jutting from the corner of a roof. He shook his head, and crouched on the eagle, surveying the nearby buildings for a suitable path in the general westerly direction he was heading in. He was racing the sun, trying to stay ahead of sunrise by traversing the rooftops. He knew he couldn't do it, but it was always nice to have a goal, and impossible ones were the best.
As he looked over the buildings, Predator saw that he would have to drop to the ground for a short while at one point. He rolled his shoulders, loosening his muscles, then sprung forward, landing on a slightly lower roof and running along the edge before leaping out into space, flying over a street and landing on the sidewalk on the other side. He rolled, then kept moving running straight at the side of a building. He jumped up and ran up the side of the building a bit, the pushed off and grabbed onto a nearby lightpole, which he swung around a few times before releasing it and flying onto the roof of a nearby building. There were so many people on the ground looking up and gasping, that he couldn't resist. He stepped up to the side of the roof, and reached into a pouch at his waist, withdrawing something he had taken earlier for just this purpose. He took it, and threw it down on the street. Then people screamed, backing away from the human ear. A few looked up again, and saw a fearsome figure, Predator, silloheited by the sunrise. Then he was gone.
There was another beast out in the night...well morning now. You see it wasn't the next day until the sun came up or you went to sleep and Abyss had not slept so he was looking at tomorrow coming on and he quite frankly was in a bad mood. By bad, he meant terrible and by terrible he meant dangerous. Dangerous was bad for the mortals that lived in the city. Particularly a little crowd that was staring in shocked awe about A flick of his tail and half of the crowd flopped over out of his way, quite possibly getting hurt in the process. A swipe of his hand and several others got flung into more and were out his way another step and the front of the crowd jumped out his reach. He knelt down and picked up the ear and shook his head, The mutant forgot his souvenir, and that just wouldn’t do. Abyss bared his teeth at the crowd over his shoulder and they did the right thing. The mass turned around and ran as one. It was like seeing a lion confront antelope.
If one of them had challenged him….said the word freak just loud enough for him to hear. There would be a mess on the street within moments. As for now however the sheep ran from the wolf. He bounded over to the nearest fire escape and bound up onto a dumpster over to the hanging part and played King Kong all the way up. He probably was going to loose the mutant, but he was going to try. Of course things could end up bad for the mutant too if he didn’t behave. Some mutants didn’t know they needn’t fight him.
He scaled the ladders and finally made it to the roof, and at least three buildings away he saw the form moving away quickly. By quickly, he meant fast. By fast, he meant gone.
Abyss began the slow but steady Jog that he called running when he came to the edge of the building he leaned down and grabbed the edge of the building with one hand and flung him self to the next building, he rolled and repeated the process until he was steadily still losing the quick mutant. It was going to take the mutants acceptance for him to be caught. A couple more buildings and Abyss was breathing a little bit hard. How many times had he told himself he needed to work on his stamina with aerobics. And what was he doing on a roof with an ear in his hand?
He Raised back up to his feet and set off again. He huffed and then shrugged. He flung the ear in the general direction of the figure disappearing in the distance. It was almost like he was running from the sun.
Did he mention that by flung he meant throw and throw he meant sent the ear spinning through the air at such a velocity he belatedly hoped it didn’t hit and kill the elusive mutant.

As Predator bounded away across the rooftops, he noticed something. He was being followed. He didn't, however, turn around or stop or otherwise give any indication that he knew someone was behind him. After a couple of minutes, Predator knew that whomever was following him would most likely have fallen behind, and he figured that it was time to see just exactly who had been attempting to tail him. He stopped on the edge of a skyscraper, and turned around. As he did, however, the human ear he had left behind zoomed out at his face, and Predator juked to the side and grabbed it out of the air. The person who was following him had been there earlier, apparently.
And no, not a person, he saw as he finished turning, but a... a.... what exactly would you call that? It was a mutant, that much was certain, but it was hard to call it anything other than a giant, red man. Predator, his curiosity peaked, decided that it might be interesting to find out who, or what, this man was. He began making his way back across the rooftops, climbing or falling when need be, and he swiftly found himself on the same rooftop as the red giant. He took a defensive stance on the edge of the rooftop, ready to leap to either side or even back off of the building if need be. He just stood there, watching the man, waiting for him to speak first.
Abyss watched the figure in the distance, pause and then come bounding his way. He let a smile come to his lips and then he bent over hands on Knee, willing his lungs to catch up. He looked to the male before him and he was going to speak when he raised his left hand and held up a finger and breathed for a minute more. He then raised up and gave a half smile. “ I saw you dropped your souvenir, I wanted to return it, but I am not made for roof tops.”
He straitened, “ I don’t know, just one of those impulses. I take it you don’t care for those that are below you?” Abyss knew a recruit when he saw one, And those that carried around human pieces of flesh as trophies, they seemed to be the most loyal to their cause.
“ Listen, if you ever need a place to crash, there is a place called the sanctuary, I think you could make plenty of friends there.” The big red man stretched a little and then watched to see his reaction.

“I saw you dropped your souvenir, I wanted to return it, but I am not made for rooftops. I don’t know, just one of those impulses. I take it you don’t care for those that are below you?”
Predator relaxed, and shook his head, smiling. "You don't know the half of it." He was unconsciously rubbing one of his old torture scars on his arm that easily could be seen. It was a long burn mark running from his shoulder to his wrist, and was speckled with various ciggarrette burns. It wouldn't be too hard for anyone versed with medical experience or torture to recognize the scars.
“Listen, if you ever need a place to crash, there is a place called the sanctuary, I think you could make plenty of friends there.”
Predator frowned. What did this man know of the sanctuary? Wasn't that where both Meld, Aura, and Isabel stayed? Curious, very curious. Predator slowly came on his guard again, preparing again for fight or flight. "I think I already have... Tell me, do you know Meld, Aura, or Isabel? I have met them before, and it seems likely that you might know them if you are living at the same place."
Predator didn't know what this man wanted, nor who he was. He could be a rival of Meld or the others, and might want to attack Predator as a way of getting back at them. Or it might be a psycho who didn't actually live at the Sanctuary but went around posing to ensare unwary mutants. Sure, it was paranoid. But just because you're paranoid doesn't mean that everone's not out to get you.
“I’m sure I could relate pretty easily.” He presented his own arms and the hundreds of little pink stars and explosions that showed on his red skin. The gaurds at his particular facility prefer tazers when dealing with him, the kind that had the little wires that shot out. he had been shocked enough in his life that if he could have retained the power he could have powered all of new york for at least a day. Those little busrts covered a good portion of his body, if you didn’t look closely one might not notice.
~~"I think I already have... Tell me, do you know Meld, Aura, or Isabel? I have met them before, and it seems likely that you might know them if you are living at the same place."
“I have met Aura and Meld, done some work with Aura, They are both Charming, Isabel might as well be my little sister.” He smirked at the thought of what his actual little sister might say to that. “ If they mentioned a man named Abyss, Well that is me.” He grinned. “ and I thought I found someone worth recruiting, and already three women have gotten to you. ”
“I’m not going to attack by the way, It was more a move to get me off the street, I don’t like the humans in general but I do prefer to find the ones that really deserve it.” He walked towar one of the ledges and peered down to the street thinking about how many of the humans that scurried about really deserved to live.

“I’m sure I could relate pretty easily." Well well well, looks like the big red man had gotten the short end of the stick, along with Predator. Tasers, looked like. Electricity, Predator had enough of that at his most recent torture session.
"Tasers, huh?" Predator shrugged the collar of his robes down an inch or two, exposing the deep burn marks he had gotten from the shock collar recently. "Electricity is so much fun, right?"
“I have met Aura and Meld, done some work with Aura, They are both Charming, Isabel might as well be my little sister. If they mentioned a man named Abyss, Well that is me. Predator relaxed again. This was a man he could come to like. "Charming, not the word I would have used. Doesn't mean it's not true though. I've never heard of you, but most of the times I've been around the three we didn't do to much talking." Predator dropped the ear on the roof. "We were a bit.. busy." He then walked over to join Abyss on the ledge. "I don't know. I'd say they all deserve it. If only there were more of us, hmm?"
“eight years of tasers.” He grinned “ they refused to use anything that would put them in my reach, they always held the things with a pansy like grip. Never giving me the chance to reel them in.”
~~"Electricity is so much fun, right?"
“That looks fairly recent, and pretty rough, something I could help you rectify? I’d be more then happy to help.”
~ "Charming, not the word I would have used. Doesn't mean it's not true though. I've never heard of you, but most of the times I've been around the three we didn't do to much talking."
“Fair enough.”
~"We were a bit.. busy."
He grinned, that statement with some women might invoke a sexual scene, but with those three he had no doubt that the activities were all violence and gore.
~"I don't know. I'd say they all deserve it. If only there were more of us, hmm?"
He smirked. “that’s true enough. We actually need them for another generation or so…scientifically according to an old friend, there aren’t enough mutants to self populate the world. So if we took out all of the x-gene negative humans in the world and slayed them, then our people would end up inbred. So at the very least we would have to keep some for breeding purposes. However beyond that I suppose you’re right. That and we could late the young age to eighteen to see if any of them were potentially ours.” Oh how he sounded like a tyrant these days, but how could one denounce their dreams?

Predator shook his head. Even with Predator's particular experience, the depravity of humans never ceased to surprise him. Eight years of tasers? "I'm fine, thanks for the offer though. I think I'll just let father time take care of it. And, anyways, I doubt we could take them out at the moment. We are so few, and they are so many. They really do breed more often than rabbits, it often seems. You do have a point, I myself was born from human parents. I think. Never found out who exactly my da was."
Predator looked out over the edge once more, watching the little ants scurry along their little tunnels, unsuspecting of the two very dangerous mutants poised at that moment above them. Knowledge was very often power, and Predator and Abyss held all the power at that moment. It was a heady feeling, power.
"Look at the little things, so assured with their power. Think of it, a lot of technology won't be needed when we come to power. Less pollution, and mutants can clean the air and the world. Really, all that has been happening to the world is because of the humans and their selfishness. Their days are numbered, and not even blood-traitors will be able to save them."
~~"I'm fine, thanks for the offer though. I think I'll just let father time take care of it.
“Oh I am no Healer, I was talking about the ones who caused it, Unless they’re have already met their end.” He nodded to the ear on the ground.”
~~“ And, anyways, I doubt we could take them out at the moment. We are so few, and they are so many. They really do breed more often than rabbits, it often seems. You do have a point, I myself was born from human parents. I think. Never found out who exactly my da was."
“I doubt you’re missing out on much, My power developed and my parents sent me to a mental ward. Acording to the papers they just about sold me to them, from their the word sold me to some labs…If my sisters hadn’t matured and killed that worthless pair then I would have sent them on their way the day we rioted. I guarantee you no mater how harsh the girl were, they were giving them mercy.” That was a subject he hadn’t let himself touch upon in years.

“So true, I want to gather more elementals to our cause. Form a new land, a continent of our kind, and from their the world shall change, they loyalty of a country and its people for too long we have been separated. But united we would have more than enough. ”He struggled to stop him self from going ionto a great speech. He nodded satisfied that the male had the right point of view. “there is an inner circle at the sanctuary that is attempting to make those word come to pass, if you are interested. Well, you could easily find a spot among them.”
He followed the fellows gaze down to the sheep and a pleased smile lifter his cheeks. They didn’t even know their days were numbered.
“Oh I am no Healer, I was talking about the ones who caused it, Unless they’re have already met their end. Well, you could easily find a spot among them.”
Predator smiled at Abyss's comments. "Oh, yes. Most of them, at least. Like cockroaches, these humans. Good at hiding... My mother.. She truly was a beautiful person. She is the one spot in my life that I can say a human really helped me on my way, without them literally being a steppingstool or ladder. Still, she had her flaws, as do they all. One of them was not being car-proof." Predator smiled at his little joke. He was comfortable talking about his mom, and had no real bad memories from his early childhood. In fact, he didn't have very many memories of that time at all...
"That would take a lot of earth elementals... Maybe get some lava elementals, water and such. If we could find an active volcano under the sea, we could... prompt it to explode with a bit of explosives, and go from there." The talk was just bs at the moment, but in the future it was entirely possible. They sky wasn't the limit. "I have heard whispers... Meld almost mentioned something, but held back. I was recently accosted by the police for participation in what they believed to be a mutant terrorism group. I wasn't but that didn't stop them. You might have seen it on the news... That's where my most recent scars come from. Now, I have the opportunity to be just what they feared I would... I don't know, this is a big desicion... But what have I been doing all these months, alone, except for the occasional foray with the girls... The whole may just be more than the sum of it's parts. It's possible that, as a part of a team, I may accomplish more than on my own... And Meld seemed to have enough freedom to fufill her own ends... I am running out of funds, the money from the bank won't last for much longer..." Predator paused, lost in thought. Really, the desicion had been made for him the moment Abyss offered, but it wasn't something you just jumped into without consideration. Then Predator hit on an idea.
"You know," he said, talking more to himself than Abyss, "I could really turn this into an advantage over my pursuers. If I did it right, I could make it look like I fled the city, maybe even the state. But I wouldn't and it would throw them off me , at least for a little while. Yes, I think I'll have to take you up on that offer, Sir Byss."
Abyss matched the man’s smile for smile it was dark humor at its best.
~~"That would take a lot of earth elementals… last for much longer..."
“In deed the effort would either take masses or time, but we shall have both. Your freedom would never be an issue, We take what help is available, but so long as you didn’t simply out right betray us, for instance moving over to the blood traitor side, we wouldn’t fault you for it, the sanctuary offers free room and bored, with a community like sharing in making the place work. The menial jobs are handed to those more inclined to a simple life and prefer to simply be protected and not bothered by the outside world, willing to benefit but not truly contribute. You of course as one of the Order would be given more demanding yet rewarding tasks. I am thoroughly surprised that the police had the audacity to come after any of us, they very well might have been thinking about another group…though it may be time to show them there place again, if they truly intend on meddling in our affairs.”
~~"You know," "I could really turn this into an advantage over my pursuers. If I did it right, I could make it look like I fled the city, maybe even the state. But I wouldn't and it would throw them off me , at least for a little while. Yes, I think I'll have to take you up on that offer, Sir Byss."
“In time as you trust us more, we can simply turn and face those who would pursue you and make your troubles disappear instead.” He looked to the mand and nodded. “It will be good to have another male around.”
“Indeed the effort would either take masses or time, but we shall have both. Your freedom would never be an issue, We take what help is available, but so long as you didn’t simply out right betray us, for instance moving over to the blood traitor side, we wouldn’t fault you for it, the sanctuary offers free room and bored, with a community like sharing in making the place work. "Oh yes, they learned their lesson. Or at least one of them: never trust a captive. I suspect that several officers are still in the burn recovery unit." He smiled again.
“In time as you trust us more, we can simply turn and face those who would pursue you and make your troubles disappear instead. It will be good to have another male around.”
Predator laughed. "Of that I have no doubt. However, subterfuge is always a fun way to mess with the minds of the humans." At Abyss's comment, he chuckled again. "Yes, I suppose it would be. The girls are... Sweet? But they can get a bit tiring. I haven't talked to another guy worth talking to in..." Predator paused in thought. "Oh yeah, since that one fire manipulator that got gunned down in January. He could hold up a conversation."
Predator withdrew from the edge, and began walking over to the other side of the building, pacing slowly. "So, I assume I will be moving to the Sanctuary? Nice place if you wanna hide from the humans. I only have a few essentials, phone numbers and the like, and they are all up here." Predator tapped his head. "I'll make some more clothes later. It is important for this to work that they think I left in a hurry." Predator didn't really know what kind of details he was going to do; he never did. All he had was a vague idea of running down the road until the river, then jumping in. He would swim upstream after turning back into human form, and then make his way back to the city. He wanted to see what Abyss said, however, before he did anything.
~~"Oh yes, they learned their lesson. Or at least one of them: never trust a captive. I suspect that several officers are still in the burn recovery unit." He smiled again.
He let out a low chuckle, yes this one already fit in, he was simply another piece that fit too well not to be put in place.
“In time as you trust us more, we can simply turn and face those who would pursue you and make your troubles disappear instead. It will be good to have another male around.”
~~"Of that I have no doubt. However, subterfuge is always a fun way to mess with the minds of the humans." "Yes, I suppose it would be. The girls are... Sweet? But they can get a bit tiring. He nodded “ I have always been fond of the flame barers. I don’t think they have a chance at being tame.”
~~ "So, I assume I will be moving to the Sanctuary? Nice place if you wanna hide from the humans. I only have a few essentials, phone numbers and the like, and they are all up here." "I'll make some more clothes later. It is important for this to work that they think I left in a hurry."
“as I said freedom is yours do as you like, if you want a room, it is already yours. Take your time and have fun.Enjoy yourself and meet us when you can. I look forward to it.” he then rattled off his own phone number. “If you decided that an offensive would be more fun give me a ring.”
Abyss looked down and couldn’t help the temptation, he had always wondered if he could do more damage to the side walk, then it could do to him. He nodded to the man he had just invited into his home and family and realized he hadn’t even caught his name.
“Until next time.” He took a step forward and plummeted toward the pavement at the last second he kicked his legs and sent the side walk flying In every direction, it was a little jarring but other wise fun. The human’s scattered and it caused him to laugh, that small encounter had settled his mood.
Predator watched as the enormous red mutant leapt off of the building and slammed into the sidewalk below, scattering humans left and right. He raised his hand to his brow in a mock salute, then was off across the rooftops. If this thing were to work, then he had to prepare a few things first.
