The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Fiona's eyes widened in shock as she literally flew through the ground and back again in a matter of moments. Staring earthworms in the face, she didn't get a chance to say farewell before being whisked back up to the grounds.
"Thank you so much!" she said, and threw her arms around him in a relieved gesture, but soon grimaced in shock and cradled her defunct arm.
She made to dust herself off, but then realized the dirt and grime from the simulated forest was gone. Suddenly she looked up and realized she stood before the real forest, a magnificent blend of pristine woodlands that flanked the Mansion Grounds on all sides. Tall pines created a rich aroma that relaxed Fiona's nerves, and looking up to Karz, noticed his eyes were squeezed shut.
"Why are your eyes closed?" she asked, moving her functional hand and arm to smooth her haphazard hair.
Fiona smiled and blushed as Karzelek made a sling for her. She sighed, as the sling was divinely suited to ease her pain--not to mention it matched too!
"Thanks sweetie." she said, but her smile was erased by a frown as she listened to Karz.
She now realized just how often he had had his eyes closed, and felt mighty bad for him. She was about to speak when he all of a sudden teetered forward and then like a mighty oak fell to the ground. Fiona quickly dropped to her knees beside him, and placed a hand on his chest.
"Oh my--Karz, Karz, can you hear me?"
She sighed. He was completely unconcious--it must have taken all the strength he had to control his not-so-modest vision. Fiona wondered what to do for a moment, before finally thinking of something. When she was unconcious, she heard things sub-conciously. Leaning down to Karz's still form, she lowered her mouth to his ear and began to coax him back.
"Karz... I know you can hear me, come back. You can open your eyes with me, it's alright... Come back Karz... Come back." she repeated slowly and soothingly, hoping her powers would kick in.
Fiona looked at him with a confused face as the first thing that came out of his mouth was a question about her being naked. She looked down and sure enough, there were clothes on her body.
"Did you hit your head too hard dear?" she asked, and then as he explained once again about his vision she sighed with understanding.
"Your vision makes you terribly sick, no?" she asked, sitting down indian-style beside him.
Fiona nodded and adjusted her position. Looking at the boy, she sighed, seriously feeling concern for him.
"Do you see with your x-ray vision all the time?" asked Fiona.
Thinking, she also suggested something else.
"You can try and talk to the tech specialist here--maybe she can make you something like what Cyclops had to control his vision mutation. Or, you can have the doctor look to see if there is anything physical that can be done to control them... How much have you tried?"
Fiona winced and almost pulled away from him as he looked at her arm, but relaxed as he told her what she needed to hear. "Thank God..." she sighed, as she sat back against a tree herself. Looking at him, she frowned, a slight blush flowering on her cheeks.
"Well... I'm afraid of them. I hate doctors so much--they hardly ever know what they're doing--and not to mention that who are they to control what a person does or does not do? Sure, they cure illnesses and what not, but ancient nomadic peoples cured themselves without injections and blood being put into containers and people poking and prodding places that don't need to be touched."
Fiona sighed and closed her eyes, thinking back to the last time she had encountered a doctor. Shivering, she opened her eyes once again and looked at Karzelek. "I'm sure the doctor here is a nice guy, but no thanks, I can deal with this on my own. Nothing a little R and R can't fix, you know?"
She contemplated how long she would need her estimated rest and relaxation before looking into Karzelek's eyes. "Are you seeing right through my skull?" she asked.
Fiona looked at him with a mixture of concern and willingness to help on her features. "I'd love to, but I have no idea how to help you though..." she said, and began to rise to her feet. Looking around her, nothing really came to mind as to how to help him, so she waited for his suggestion instead.
Fiona shook her head and placed a hand on her hip. "I don't really know what else I can do for you, as I don't know your limitations, or your range of vision for those kinds of things. However, if you tell me a weakness or something, I can maybe think of ways to help you."
As she turned to walk a little farther into the forest, an idea came to mind. Maybe she could use her powers to persuade Karzelek to train his vision. He'd be under her spell, and unconciously might know how to control his vision. She would wait and see what he told her and then try out her plan.
"I know you can see through my clothes... And well, it sounds odd but can you still see through them from there?" she called.
If she could figure out a range of vision, she could work to incorporate her powers into helping him by increasing difficulty slowly. Only problem was, if she overused her power he might develop the rage that had consumed Kesuk before... And having one damaged arm was enough for her.
Fiona's eyes widened as she realized that his vision was extraordinarily sharp. She realized she was just going to have to go with her previous intention. Trying to forget her arm, she mustered up all the sensuality she could, feeling the familiar surge of confidence and the tingling all through her body. She walked up to him now, her eyes blazing into his.
"Karzelek, I want you to listen to me very, very, carefully." she said, making her words as clear as she could.
She walked a trail around him, finally coming to stop behind him. Winding her arms around his waist, she whispered in his ear:
"Are you willing to do anything for me, Karzelek?"
Fiona smiled and stared back deeply into his eyes. She had to admit, for a kid he certainly could be seductive in that brusque way that seemed to appeal to most females. Bringing her face closer to his, she traced his lower lip with her index finger. She noticed the subdued look on his face, his relaxed jawline--down to the goosebumps of arousal and almost drunkenness that overwhelmed his features.
She smiled now, knowing that she had him in. But for what she was attempting to do, he wasn't in deep enough. Pressing her body to his, she wound her fingers through the hair on the back of his head and somewhat pulled lightly and slowly, pulling his head a slight bit lower. Then, she brought her face close to his ear, ready to whisper again. She needed to weave herself so deep into his circuitry that he wouldn't be able to think without overloading him. An attack of rage really wasn't going to go down well as he would most likely truly injure Fiona further, perhaps even breaking her arm.
"I can be everything you've ever needed..." she relayed slowly in Russian, letting the words drip sensually from her lips. "How much would you do for me, Karzelek?" she said, her warm breath on his earlobe. Trailing the tip of her tongue on the bottom of the lobe, she pushed herself harder to flush him with her power. As she did so, she began to feel emotions of intense love, infatuation, the red hot flush. She felt his thoughts in her mind, and through her coursed his essence. 'Am I hearing his thoughts?' thought Fiona suddenly, her brow creasing and her light grip on his hair becoming loose and gone. A slight shiver went down her spine then, and she began to lose focus. The voice faded, and Fiona came back to. 'I did... I heard his thoughts.' she thought again, a slight buzz running through her mind. Making a mental note to speak with a telepath or perhaps Tricity about it, she resumed her gentle flood over Karzelek.
Fiona finally felt a release within her body, as though her fighting frequency finally merged with his to create one clear channel. She had done it, she had managed to completely seduce him and now she could go in for the kill, so to speak.
Placing both hands on the side of his face, she lifted it to align his face with hers, particularly the eyes. With a longing look, she stepped back, separating from him.
"What do you see when you look at me?" she asked tentatively, like a young woman would ask her first lover.
"Do you see all of me? Do you see my clothes, or the skin that burns for your glance?"
Soon her mind began to flow in only one direction, her goal. Her words weren't hers so much as they were that of the siren personality, and her goal was to have Karzelek control his vision.
Making sure that his attentions were focused, she sent another rush through him, making sure to keep his conciousness and the seduction balanced. The more she did it, the more she was able to control it, but she hoped she didn't slip.
Fiona smiled as Zelek finally realized on his own what her intentions were. Accepting the kiss, she giggled as she looked him over.
"I don't think I'll need to ask." she said.
All of a sudden she picked up on anger. Looking startled at Karzelek, she watched as he clenched his fists and and struggled to control his rage. As he advanced, she winced, waiting for the impact. She knew she wouldn't be able to fight back, and bracing her arm, waited. But, all she got was a tight embrace from a happy Karzelek.
Giggling, she hugged him back with her able arm.
"No worries once so ever." she responded, and with a notion to go back to the Mansion, she began to make her way back.
