Shin smiled gently as she leaned her head on his shoulder. His arm came up to hug her shoulder as they stood side-by-side, looking at the stars. He liked the warmth of her head on his shoulder. His voice came out just as softly. “It really is…”

For a moment, the stood in silence gazing outwards. And then...

"I thought of what I could give you for your birthday, Kasumi." Shin started slowly. He bowed his head with a smirk. "It took a while. Jewelry, travel, things... they all seemed so weak. Anyone could give you that. I thought of what I could give you that nobody else could," He turned to hold her at arm's length. Her blush, her smile... seemed to invite him to continue. He looked her sternly in the eye with a comical grin, and went on. "I got to thinking, 'what could I give her?' 'How would I show her how I feel.' And finally, it hit me. I already had. But let me say it again, Kasumi. In plain words so I don't mess this up."

He pulled her into a hug and whispered softly in her ear. "I love you." He nuzzled her on the neck and held her close like his favorite stuffed bear. "Tonight has been so magical, Kasumi. I wish it could last a lifetime..." The hug broke. Again, he held her at arms length, head bowed in a smirk. He tilted her chin upwards, and looked her in the eye. "Though lifetimes take a while, and if it took forever, I couldn't do this—"

Their lips met.

It reminded Shin of a six-word story by James Patrick Kelly.

"We kissed. She melted. Mop please!"

Except this time, in reverse. Shard fireworks went off in his mind. Why hadn't they done this before~?

Kasumis eyes looks to Shin as she smiles to him she lets out a happy sigh looking at eveything. Soon she hears him talking so weak she thinks to herself. She never thought of something like that to weak but he right anyone can give her things like that. Soon her eyes looks into Shin's soon Kasumi nods she feels her hheart raceing in her chest. Soon she is close to Shin she hears the words as tears comes to her eyes as she smiles "I love you too.." Kasumi could not be happier.

Soon Kasumis arms is around Shins neck as she smiles more. This is the best gift that she could have he is right. Soon she hears him as she smiles more "But you have me so it does not have to end tonight." Kasumi beams her heart flutters soon her eyes meets Shin's there lips touch. Kasumi's hear hammers in her chest.

Soon Kasumis arms are Shins neck as she kisses him. Never in her life she has felt a kiss like this a love so deep a strong for anyone. This is the best birthday ever in her life. She never knew that she would get a gift like this. A gift of love she never knew that all of her life that she love someone as much as she loves Shin. She will never be with out him she knows that now.
