The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Terran Harken arrived at the Mansion, late afternoon. Terran's usually unkempt hair had been pulled back in a somewhat tidy pony tail. He pulled his raggady duffle bag closer to him and sighed. “This better not be a scam...” He muttered under his breath. Looking up at the building, Terran had his suspicions about the place. None very good. Terran heard a honk and cursing behind him. 'Right...Cash...' He thought. Terran had taken a cab to get to his current situation. He dropped the bag at his feet and walked back to the driver, paying him with the rest of his money that he had. The cab driver eyed him down, counting the money. One the driver had decided it was okay, he sped off down the road. Terran muttered something incoherant and started towards the building once more.

Daria was in the front yard, she had been sketching the playing children, when she saw someone pull up to the front gate. Tricity was nowhere to be seen so she excitedly went to meet the new kid herself.
He didn't look to trusting of the place but not many were when they first arrived. The mansion was always a desperate attempt for acceptance and safety, she wondered what his story was.
"Hi there!" she smiled not opening the gate just yet. Her tail and ears flickered cheerfully and she waved. "Do you need some help?"
Terran looked a bit startled. Tails. Ears. Something new to Terran. Terran looked in the girls direction. “I was told to come here..For help?” His Romanian accent was evident when he spoke. "Or is this the wrong place?" he asked, shifting the weight of the duffle bag to his other hand. His expression was blank though his eyes were questioning the current situation.

Daria hesitated for a minute then nodded and opened the gate to let him in.
"If you're a mutant or at least mutant friendly, this is definitely the place for help." She sniffed the air discreetly her strong sense of smell picking up on the scent of dog.
"I'm Daria, I'm the head mistress' assistant. What's your name...and did you bring a puppy?
Terran smiled to himself. "Terran Harken...As for the dog question...not exactly." Terran began to walk inside the gate, his mud-caked-boots squeeking almost inaudibly (that a word?) Terran gripped the bag tighter. "How many people live here exactly?" He asked, beginning to observe his surroundings. He stopped walking as if he thought of something. "Why a dog?" He turned to face her.

(yes, it's a word)
Daria closed the gate behind him. "Nice to meet you Terren, where are you from?"
She blushed at the dog question. "Oh...i just smelled dog. It's a..cat thing.." thinking ofr a moment she decided she couldn't quite answer his question. "Alot of people live here, hundreds I imagine. People come every day and leave everyday. Some are loud about it others are quiet. It's hard to tell, as long as no one causes any unnecessary or avoidable trouble anyone is welcome."
Terran nodded. "Romania. Pretty country for the most part. Too many vampires for my liking though.." He said jokingly, but his expression was still blank. Terran seemed to smirk at the cat comment. "Yer abillity...it's cat related?" He looked at the building for a moment, muttered "Lots o' people..." Then looked back at her. (Thx)

Daria flicked her ears. "I have a bit in common with the animal yes." she giggled and shook her head.
"I've got to some routine stuff first and then I'll give you your papers to fill out. First, what s your ability and is it harmful to you or anyone else?" she asked politely. Then, because she felt he still seemed cautious and worried she added. "Don't worry, no matter what your ability is we're not going to turn you away, we just need to know."
Terran peered down at his bag. In the back of his mind he regretted having to tell her but he decided he better just tell her. Terran sighed, rubbing his burn scar, on the left side of his face. His voice was low at first then became louder as he spoke. "Im a shapeshifter. Yer dog question...well I basically turn into a ...beast... I am a danger to others...including myself...Thats why I'm 'ere." Terran finished, looking at her. [sry it took so long had 2 eat lunch]
[yay yer back] Terran shrugged. "Sometimes its smells, sometimes its my emotions, and other times...it just happens." Terran again shifted the weight of the bag. He felt uneasy discussing this but he knew he had to, to get into the building and for the 'papers' she mentioned earlier.

"Alright." Daria smiled warmly.
"Don't worry about it. I'll just tell Tricity and we'll figure something out to help you gain better control over your abilities." She put her sketchbook in her bag and then pulled out a few 'new resident' forms.
"These are just for background info, whee you were born, any other mutants in the family, how old you were when you mutated. This other form is about your education so we can put you in classes if need be and this one is the health form. It's good to see the doctor here so he can study your x-gene. It's not as scarey as it may sound, he just takes some blood and reports back to Tricity with his findings." she grinned. "It helps him tell you a little more about yourself."
"Do you have anymore questions?" she asked walking towards the mansion door.
Terran took the papers, looking them over. 'So many questions...guess there's no privacy here either...' He thought. When Terran was done perusing them, he nodded. "So do I give them to you? Or someone else...?" He paused. 'Should I ask...' Terran thought before asking ; "And wha' o' Prof. Xavier...He 'ere?"

"You may give them to me or you can leave them in the mailbox near Tricity's office."
"Oh, no this isn't THE Xavier's mansion, this institute was started y one of his students. Tricity was put in charge of this one. it's just an affiliate. why...do you know him?" she leaned her head to one side.
Terran's eyes widened. "Oh. No it's just... Well he's the one who offered me help a while back. The other school...wha' became o' it?" Terran let the bag sit on the floor. He was tired of holding it at the moment.
