The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Got a plot in mind?
MRO plots are player-created the Mods facilitate and organize the big ones, but we get the ideas from you. Do you have a plot in mind, and want to know whether it needs Mod approval? Check out our plot guidelines.
Cannon characters are automatically supposed to be bad-asses at whatever they do, whereas created characters have to start at a lower power level and work their way up. What would it say if Cass or Daria got into a fight with the newly-approved Wolverine, and beat him up like their stats say they should be able to?
If Cannon characters are going to be anywhere in the RP, they should be mod-controlled characters for plot purposes. Otherwise I see, and can verify from experience on other mixed created/cannon RPs, a clusterfuck in the future.

I am not even sure why "Depends" is an option. Mad people are gonna choose depends. Be steadfast in your decisions! I did choose depends though. (Do as I say, not as I do.)
I don't know. I suppose if they were teachers or if they came back for a really big battle or to ask for help. They should in fact be mod controlled. Besides its so easy to play a Cannon Character. Let's continue to challenge people!
I agree with Dia, but also, I think that in order to play a cannon character, you must have a developed original character, let's say you need to rp as an original for 100 posts, then you can rp as a cannon, and yes, Gambit and Iceman should go with other people, why should Rogue have all the fun? Tehe. But yea, after one is experienced and understands their character front and back, then I think it would be a challenge to have to play a cannon charrie, 'cause its not your character so you have to learn to understand them in a completely different way...you know? O.o

Thank you guys for your comments.
For Fade, one reason we don't accept cannons is because of the whole "Well Gambit wouldnt do this" blah blah, so yea, I could see the challenge with understanding each one.
For Daria, the reason for "depends" is because a lot of peole wanted cannons since the first RPG and I know the reasons for "yes" and "no". The "depends is more for the "new" people.
For Cass, I think mod controlling would be difficult, especially because a lot of people will start to sign up or current members will def want a cannon charac. Unless...we get more than one mod...hmmm
For Dia, I agree with the relationship thing you were talking about. I think that history should be wiped, but the other "known facts" about the cannons should be kept. Oh and thank you for the thought of Gambit getting together with me. HAHA..*looks dreamily while batting eyes.*
Canon characters are fine to have once in a while. Like cross-over stories.
The problem with having member choose them simply comes down to quality. A memebr has to meet some pretty high standards to play a canon character correctly...and they'd have to choose which incarnation of the character they would play as well...
